I don't think I'm smart enough to truly appreciate how you get this sound. I never realized how much EQ-ing goes into mixes like this, but the payoff is definitely worth it! 🦆 🦆 Thanks for putting this together, I'm definitely learning a lot from your videos.
Glad to hear my dude! Yeah the guitar and pickups does a lot too, also the bass (together with the guitar) and my master chain plugins, will cover that in a later video :) Main thing is to cut out low end and highs, to focus on the mid, to make room for other stuff!
It's nice that you took lots of low end out of the guitar tone because the low tuning you were using sounds heavy already without much low end. The best sounding Djent mixes have a high volumes in the bass, but not too much. Great bass volume. Great mixing.
I really like these longer form videos, it's really interesting to see your process! Also your video editing is incredible and the auto focus is so funny haha :)
Holy shit, Adam! SOOOO many compressors and EQs! It's so nerdy) BUT! I know that exactly in such way the true PROs do their job. That's realy cool! Sometime I'll try your hints, it is very, VERY usefull. And your guitar sound is realy NICE) Thanks a lot for the video! Hmmm.. what about "failed cuts" like in Jackie Chan movies?)
Awesome in depth explanation! Do you also have the guitar tabs available? Would be cool to be able to create the song you made from scratch and learn from it :)
I've been using your tutorials a lot to fine tune my mix and tone and they're extra helpful so thanks a lot dude, but there's something I noticed in the video : you kept the cab on in the Nolly sim. Do you keep it on with the GGD cali and if yes, what are your mics settings?
Glad it's helpful dude! 😎 Yeah it looks like it's on, but I've turned off both of the mics, using the down with the thickness preset I believe in GGD Cali in this one ☺️

- "How much EQ do you want in your mix? "

Yes
Very cool explanation, but I'm more interested in the result of mixing the drums. Please make a drum mixing walkthrough
Thank you! For sure, it's in the pipeline 😎👊

When are you going to do the full drum mix tutorial? 😊 love your work!
Not completely sure exactly when, working on finishing my album at the moment, it will come for sure, presumably in parts first ☺️
