@@cameraz99 I got one, and was surprised about its light gathering capabilities during mountain hiking with high contrasty situations (Monte Rosa Alagna Valsesia). I compared it to my Galaxy Note 9 with HDR (already old but hey) and did not find big differences. Any tips for GX85/80 for better dynamic range while shooting video's?
Jordan actually pointed out the same flaws of the XH2S as Kasey did but in less hyperbolic manner. Video AF is good in most parts but can be terrible in others. Slow-mo is just not great. Stabilization can be jerky at times. Overall, it's still the best hybrid camera on the market but if you're purely interested in video there might be a better option depending on your needs.
@@spanishprisoner not what I meant. If you shoot fast objects and need the best video AF, you will need the A7SIII. If you do MF and shoot a lot of slow-mo, then the GH6 is a great option. If you do a bit of everything plus some photography, the XH2S is the best.
I have an X-H2s and really love it because it's fun to use and everything looks gorgeous, but filming in a cage with a left side handle and no monitor is such a pain! I guess I'll just get a monitor, but I am very jealous of the GH6 multi tilt screen!
I think those of us with lenses in either mount will stick with bodies of the same mount. There is not enough edge to either one to convince me I would switch. I'll upgrade my GH4 to a GH6, and continue sharing lenses with my twins who also use Lumix GH4 and GH5 bodies.
Both cameras are technical masterpieces. I have 0 complaints about the XH2S as a video camera since I have it rigged up but Fuji made some questionable decisions in the interface when it comes to photo shooting. The fact that you can’t map iso to the command dials like you could with the XT4 is baffling. You have to press the iso button then either use the rear command dial to navigate the menu or use the joystick/d-pad to choose iso. That makes using the camera slow and cumbersome. I wanna map the iso button to do something useful and control iso directly in a command dial but Fuji decided that my $2500 APSC camera is incapable of doing that. 😂
It baffles me that Fuji is like: "This dial currently does absolutely nothing in this mode and we DON'T want to let the user configure it do do somehing in this camera that's made for fast handling and user preference for max speed". I also wish they could raise the half-press fps during PreShot ES to way more than 10, as it's what often counts more than framerate after full press.
I understand your concern but in practice I do not see the concern. I have the xt4 and xh2s, I do weddings almost every weekend and never what you are talking about has made me waste time or even annoyed. Then I don't know if I understood what you are saying, but to change the iso, you have to press the iso button, then directly change the iso with the rear wheel...I find it more intuitive because the important settings are done just with the right hand and with 2 fingers (iso, aperture, shutter speed, WB, etc…) whereas with the xt4 you have to use the left hand to change the iso, using 2 fingers to turn the wheel...I always liked what fuji offered with the xt cams, but on my side since then I much prefer how the xh2s works… I don't want to defend the xh2s but honestly it's the most intuitive fuji camera I've used. Even holding it is a treat, I don't even use a cage ...90% handheld with xh2s and 10% gimbal with xt4. Before it was like 60% gimbal, and xt4 with cage or battery grip to hold it well
Wow, you can’t assign ISO to a command dial directly on the flagship camera??!! 🤯 That totally slows one down and becomes cumbersome. The XE4 works like this and changing the ISO interrupts the flow of taking photos (but it is missing a command dial to map it to).
I use a Fuji X-S10 as my work video camera. Previously had an X-T3 - which has more options - but the X-S10 has IBIS and I wanted that and a smaller camera. Anyway - I find the video autofocus on Fuji excellent. I usually use face detection for this. I don't do much grading - quick turnaround is our thing - and I tend to shoot in Classic Chrome. A good hybrid is what I wanted, I shoot video with it for work, but as a hobby I shoot photos and the Fuji is a good allrounder. X-S10 video quality is great for what we need, I shoot in 4K and deliver in 1080p.
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of video work do you do? I'm always interested to hear what people use their cameras for in the real world (particularly for video, since it feels like a bit of a closed-off world to a newbie).

Great coverage and insights. The one thing I would have liked to have seen was a bit more of real world examples - how you usually kit these out, what you have to do to get the job done - the differences between the two in that regard. You sort of covered that but I think getting into that directly would be a real benefit for viewers. Accessory differences, for example. Any difference in audio quality or how you rig for audio with each. Cheers.
One of the things I like about the GH6 is that you can plug almost any USB power bar into it and record all day. I would expect the larger sensor to give some advantage to Fuji.
Going by the specs, the Fuji should have the better image quality. Larger sensor, dynamic range, etc.. But for me the image of the GH6 is more appealing it seems higher quality to me.
If the main advantage of the GH6 is just slightly better slow-mo (which is a niche application that most people don't care about) then for most people the Juji film is the winner because it's better in most categories that people actually are interested in.
Great review Aside the battery life, I prefer the GH6 In the future, Panasonic have to release firmware to include ProRes LT and external record support for Black magic Raw to make the GH6 more competitive
Panasonic has the XLR-1 adapter, but now Tascam has made XLR adapters for Nikon, Fujifilm, and Canon. I believe the Nikon one really works for all cameras that only have traditional analog 3.5mm inputs. So, that's a great equalizer for audio.
I know this is not a popular point of view, but the XLR doesn't really matter as much as the internal, uninsulated ribbons that carry the sound. Any properly designed connector will work fine, and in a stress environment you would want a locking connector anyway. The Lumix cameras have decently wide traces, haven't opened up a Fuji.
Great comparison! Glad Chris was out for this one, he would've been bored to death But is it just me, or was the GH6 out of focus on some shots? Was it in manual focus?
I think they must have been in continues autofocus. I noticed that the GH6 kept micro hunting the face every time he moved his head whereas the X-H2s lock on all the time.
GH6 was in continuous Face Detect AF-C with the focus limiter engaged. It did sometimes drift a bit, though never too much due to focus limiter. Them's the breaks with Panasonic.
The Fuji's video is uncomfortably sharp. But overall I loved this review! Less of 'here is what you should buy' and more 'here is what each is good at' and I can decide based on what's important to me.
"Uncomfortably"? It's like saying that the Ferrari is uncomfortably fast. Dude, you can always fit a soft focus lens if you don't like Gaussian blur in post. Just sayin'. The images on this review are clearly better from the X-H2s. Just my personal opinion.
throw a diffusion filter like the tiffen glimmerglass on there, or use a slightly softer lens and that completely fixes that. If anything it being super sharp by default just gives you greater flexibility to get the look you want
I think the point about Fuji needing a general object tracking is good feedback for Fuji. I wonder if we'll see a big video AF update in a few days with the announcement of the XH-2.
A great video Jordan! I appreciate all the work you put into it. While the GH6 has more video assist tools, I shoot with an external monitor which gives me all I need: false colours, LUT importing, peaking, etc. I always tend to go with sensor size, and I love the Fuji colour profiles and F-LOG. When I am ready to upgrade it will be the XH-2S. The Eterna LUT applied to F-LOG2 looks awesome, and more natural to my eyes. Cheers from British Columbia!
I got the GH6 specifically for open gate [full sensor readout as Chris wants it called]. Being able to get 4k in both vertical and horizontal orientations from the single recording will be a big win to extract 'marketing clips' for YT shorts, IG reels, and TT.
As always, excellent review, plus a good reminder that no camera does all things best, it is just which camera meets more of an individual person's needs best...it's always a compromise. Or have multiple cameras. And lenses. 😀🙃 And I agree, Fuji dropped the ball by leaving off the stills/video switch they put on the XT4...love that switch. Fuji should also make an articulating+tilt screen... make everyone happy.
Nice review. I would get the Fuji if they had better lens support. They really knocked it out of the park IMO. But m43 just has every lens you can imagine... and then some.
Thanks so much Jordan. You did a great job overall, very fair, and good points of comparison for pluses and minuses. One area that could possibly make it more clear for the buyers to choose is which camera's weaker points can be compensated based on the strategies of the shoot. For instant a short coming in the area of auto focus, low light performance, less noise in the image, overall image quality, or the film look: can it be compensated by additional equipment? How about if IBS is wonky? would adding gimbal take care of that weakness? How about battery life, is there external power source, battery grip, etc. take care of that weakness? .... etc. I think videographers know that at some point they need to buy additional accessories, faster lenses, etc. as long as the body is worthy to spend money on those accessories to make it a better package, but they will regret if they know no matter how much money they spend in additional equipment, there are some limitations on that body that cannot be compensated. Based on this, which one of these cameras have more potentials?
I don’t understand why Fuji still hasn’t added general object tracking for video. They already have it for stills, so it doesn’t seem like it would be a major undertaking to add it for video too. Jarring that my little Canon and Sony compacts have it, but not the purpose-built Fuji video camera. Fingers crossed that they’ll add it in a firmware update at some point; not sure how likely that is though. The 240p quality is also kind of baffling. Nasty artifacts that seem to be independent of ISO and compression setting. Not yet convinced there isn’t a bug lurking there somewhere (especially given that the X-T4 looked better). Unless it’s a consequence of the new sensor design…?
Awesome video, thank you! By the time the X-T5 is out with most (if not just about all) of all of the X-H2S' features in a smaller, lighter and cheaper package and plus with improvements and fixes, that will be the better camera. And if some time later an X-S10II/X-S20 comes out with again most of the X-T5's features and added improvements, even lighter and again cheaper, that will be for me the camera to get. So I'll revisit all this a year or two from now. I feel the X-H2S is in many ways an overpriced beta testing camera for Fujifilm and is several firmware updates away from the price it commands and the true potential it aims for. And all this without even mentioning the general X-mount issue of subpar lens ecosystem compared to the likes of others like Sony for example, which is a problem that will either way have a very difficult resolution any time soon. Either way the X-H2S is no doubts a great camera and proves that Fujifilm knows very well what they are doing.. but this comes at a cost that already enters competing FF hardware, that needs maturing, to be squeezed in size and shrunk in price and get thoroughly polished out.
If the rumors are true, the X-T5 won’t be getting the same sensor as the X-H2S (it will instead get the non-stacked 40MP sensor from the upcoming X-H2). Which does raise the question of what other Fuji cameras will actually be getting this sensor. X-S10 successor sounds plausible (since it is like a little brother to the X-H2S in some ways), but I’m guessing they won’t release it for a couple of years in order to avoid cannibalizing sales.
IMO the hybrid winner is the Fuji and if you’ll exclusively shoot video, a BlackMagic product makes a lot more sense for the price point. Right?! Though I’ve never used a BMPCC.
If you need the fan, the XH2S is a $2700 APSC camera. It also doesn't have usb-c to SSD recording and no red frame recording (which I love). Also black magic raw could be added in a future firmware update. It really boils down to what features video shooters need the most and what lenses they currently own. Both are great.
Very impressive that the Fuji bests the GH overall for video, the GH line has always been the king of video in the mirrorless realm. I’m a Fuji shooter so this is great news, Fuji lenses are relatively cheap and very sharp, it’s a great platform.
Great video Jordan. Seems both are great, and I think for me I’d go for the gh6 if I wanted mostly a video camera, and the fuji if it was my do all camera. The video kinda necitates the need for a “what are the best fuji video lenses” video. Bit of a minefield.
I’ve been shooting on the XH2S over the past year and have used it for client work and short films. It’s a great workhorse, but when it comes to the image, there’s something about it that bothers me. I know the image is sampled from 6k and that there is no OLPF, but there’s something about the image that looks very “digital”. I can’t explain it, but there is a flat look and I don’t like the way that it renders skin. I do love the colours and DR, but I feel like something is off. Obviously, you can use filters and soften the image in post, but I feel like the edges have a bit of halo effect going on. I assume it’s from heavy in-camera processing and cannot be turned off, even if sharpness is set to -4. I’m currently going to sell my XH2S and go back to using the bmpcc 4k with a speedbooster. Whilst the pocket 4k has inferior specs on paper, I still prefer the organic and filmic look it gives. I think there’s more to the story than just pure specs.
We’ve had quite a few Fujifilm cameras over the past decade here in our studio. Both X and GFX. Though I love their handling and primes for stills, I must say that we’ve had more reliability issues with Fuji than with any other camera brand. As for video, none of the Fuji XF and GF lenses are great for video, except perhaps their upcoming 18-120. With Panasonic however, their Leica Vario-Summilux 10-25 and 25-50 f1.7 as well as their Vario-Elmarit 50-200 are superb and generally all you’ll ever need. Combine that with Panasonics legendary build quality and there’s my clear preference…
Except you are talking about the previous Fujifilm cameras and somewhat ambiguous reliability issues, that may have been fixed long ago. Fujifilm has an also equally legendary build quality. It is more of a personal preference which I respect, but downgrading something based on personal preference, and generalizing based on it that Fuji products in general are bad (while saying Panasonic are great). Based on the review, the XH2S has merits that people would choose over the GH6. Just wanted to react, as the reliability issues that you mentioned have put the new camera in a bad light, as if the better quality of the camera being reviewed would be overlooked.
@@razznote7586 In my view I’ve made it very clear that these are personal experiences and a personal preference. I’m not saying that Fuji cameras are generally bad, just that we had more reliability issues than with other brands we use. Just for this case I digged into my memory. Between 2012 and 2021 we’ve had a total of 13 Fuji cameras (8 X-series and 5 GFX) and 19 lenses (13 XF and 6 GF). Between 2015 and 2020 we’ve also used them professionally for our fashion and beauty photography work. Of the 13 cameras, 5 were either replaced or in need of repair shortly after purchase. All under warranty and due to construction failures. Of the 19 lenses, 7 needed replacement or repair. A few right out of the box and some after short usage. We’re using Hasselblad, Canon (until 2016) Nikon, Panasonic and Leica (mostly personal) and we’ve never seen such a high repair %. On one occassion I even had to redo a half day shoot. It’s not just with older Fuji cameras. In fact, most issues were probably caused by failing quality assurance and most issues came with the bodies manufatured in China and lenses made in the Philipines. So basically after 2017. We’ve had less issues with GFX and GF products (all made in Japan) and my personal X-Pro2 (also made in Japan). Now, I know that many owners enjoy their Fuji cameras, but I personally have become hesitant for professional use.
You forgot about audio. Panasonic wins that category so call it a tie. Also the Panasonic/Leica f/1.7 zoom lenses are without equal in ANY format and ONLY work with m4/3. Another point for Panasonic.
I am no video guy but in the review Fuji appears much better to my eyes than the Panasonic. Fuji is sharper, eyes are in focus and colors look better to me.
I love Fuji but I would’ve gave Panasonic the win on 4K120 you’re using you’re whole sensors and yes the crop factor for it basically levels the playing field in this category. my thinking is if you’re using mft then you’re already compensating for you’re lens range. So you’re use to your crop already but the Fuji crops in o top of the apsc crop so you’re having to compensate twice. Also the file size is probably smaller Olin the gh5 I’d imagine. I’m a fuji fanboy but I think Panasonic should win that. I feel we need to be objective and critical with these manufacturers. They need to gauge what we need in these products.
Thanks for doing this. Going forward, do you think you could do more video-centric reviews of hybrid cameras? I understand that you and Chris are a team and so wouldn't mind having separate videos for photo and video capabilities, especially of the models with which you've had more experience in handling than just the initial product launch review. Things like interbrand lens usage/performance looks good on paper on m4/3, but in practice Olympus and Panasonic lenses are not as co-operative on each others bodies - stuff that marketing info does not advertise when showcasing a product, but an avid user like yourself would pickup on when working with the camera.
Great comparison. Thanks for your efforts. Unfortunately, the Fuji lacks longer lenses. On the other hand, the Panasonic 200/2.8 is such an excellent lens for the bucks.
Great comparison. For me I like the look of the GH6 video more but the Fuji looks sharper to me which I like. I would have liked to see more and longer clips that show the different features you mentioned rather than a just quick shot. This would be more helpful for comparisons. 10:28 Sure the X-H2S battery lasts a lot longer than the Panasonic internal battery, but what you didn't mention and should have, is that you can use USB-C batteries with the GH6 and If you do that you could potentially use it for as long as you need to and not run out of battery life. Also if you are not shooting in the full 5.7 or 5.8K or external RAW on the GH6, you can use the Pixel to Pixel mode for a longer crop if you need it which can be useful.
Is fuji ever going to fix the jerky stabilization for panning shots in video, this seems to be a major detractor from my viewpoint. Love their cameras though, but if I am panning on a subject that is moving it is pretty disappointing to see the camera jerk and shudder when it should be smooth.
X-mount has some really nice Sigma primes and Tamron came out with a good zoom option, but other than that its really dry lake for lightweight and modern lenses, I feel Fuji is stuck in the past when it comes to updating their lenses which are BADLY needed. Very few systems still match the Samsung 16-50mm F2-2.8 which was not only weather resistant, it also was made for video and photo and had OIS built into it, a lens like that needs to be looked at by others and copied because it was a beast for what it did.
Great as usual but missing to compare recording mediums??? GH6 can use SSD and I hear Fuji has only little SDs? For ProRes LT what can you fit on a 512 SD?
Fujifilm has always been good with their FW updates so praying we do get waveform assist, red box recording and better ibis. Either way I’m enjoying using it
I hope you guys follow this up with a similar comparison of the Nikon Z30, Canon R10, and Sony ZV-E10. Or maybe you could cover the OM-1, Canon R7 and Nikon Z50?
Great video :) I must say that the talking head filmed with Fujifilm just looks waay more crisp and "natural in this video. The Panasonic just feels soft when you compare it. I am not a video guy myself, but I must say it was a big difference to watch footage filmed on Fujifilm vs Panasonic in this review. :)
@Random Thought I might just like the sharpening/picture on the fuji better. On my phone and computer/monitor (24") it looks ok but still a difference. On my TV (55") the difference is bigger becasue it always shows how bad video can be...or my own photos that looked sharp on my phone :) Well. I guess I prefer the Fuji.
It will be interesting to see if Fujifilm brings any major improvements via firmware to the X-H2S. I'm not familiar with Panasonic's stance on firmware though, do they usually implement major improvements via firmware as well?
GH6 firmware 2.2 added recording to a SSD through the USB-C port. Firmware 2.0 had added raw output through HDMI, but that came out before this video so it was already mentioned in the comparison.
Interesting review, but I was wondering why you shot the Fuji in 4k but the GH6 in 1080P mode, until I realized all of its shots were significantly front focused. That Fuji is *sharp*.
This was a clearly level-headed video with some excellent insights. One benefit of the Panasonic system that Jordan did not mention is that its lenses are generally less expensive than the aps-c lenses on the Fuji. If you're starting a video system from scratch and have a limited budget, this could be an important factor. Also, I suspect the better image quality and dynamic range of the Fuji camera is evident only in extreme situations. That is, in extremely dark scenes or scenes with extreme contrast.
Don't forget both m43 and Fuji XF have some great third party lenses from Sigma and (for the Fuji) Viltrox. Although I'm very curious to see how either of the GH6 and X-H2S stack up against the Blackmagic PCC 6Ks, if we're talking solely about video quality.
I used to have Panasonic and now Fujifilm and comparing the lenses to each other Panasonic and Fujifilm are on pair if not that Panasonic Leica branded lenses are way more expensive then Fujifilm.
@@eagleeyephoto8715 I switch from Fuji to Panasonic. The Panasonic brand lenses are cheaper than the Fuji. I don’t need the Leica as the Panasonic work well for my needs.

now that we have a kinda in depth comparison between two of the current best crop sensor video cameras, are you guys planning to do the same thing with full frame video oriented bodies? Like comparison between S1H and A7SIII? (the replacement of both those cameras could be coming kinda soon, especially for the S1H though)
Nice review as always!!! So you would at this time prefer the Fuji even over the S1H based on your previous reviews??? Thanks again for what you and Chris provide to our phot/video community!

Is thr gh6 really that bad in photos? I use my gh5 for video and photp and i qm very very happy with the pics my gh5 can do. I dont see any problems with dynamic range
no, I shot side by side with my G9 when I got it. Other than a resolution bump there isn't much difference between the two. 100% shadow boost in LR of under exposed areas the noise is identical at 100% magnification at base ISO and DR is close enough to not care. People also seem to be ignoring that the GH6 also offers hand held high res mode, which works very well for static subjects and increases DR according to photons to photos. It IS missing some of the newer photography features that the G9 and OM1 have (6k photo/focus stacking/post focus/etc).

I have an X-H2s and really love it because it's fun to use and everything looks gorgeous, but filming in a cage with a left side handle and no monitor is such a pain! I guess I'll just get a monitor, but I am very jealous of the GH6 multi tilt screen!
Sure, if you want crappy AF and a lesser camera all around.
@@mariusmocan8491 I use manual focus, so I'm stuck with crappy AF anyway. 🤣
@@mariusmocan8491Why would you want AF as a videoshooter?
😲 wow! Incredible with the iso!
Then I don't know if I understood what you are saying, but to change the iso, you have to press the iso button, then directly change the iso with the rear wheel...I find it more intuitive because the important settings are done just with the right hand and with 2 fingers (iso, aperture, shutter speed, WB, etc…) whereas with the xt4 you have to use the left hand to change the iso, using 2 fingers to turn the wheel...I always liked what fuji offered with the xt cams, but on my side since then I much prefer how the xh2s works…
I don't want to defend the xh2s but honestly it's the most intuitive fuji camera I've used. Even holding it is a treat, I don't even use a cage ...90% handheld with xh2s and 10% gimbal with xt4. Before it was like 60% gimbal, and xt4 with cage or battery grip to hold it well
@@peterra2532 On the X-Tx you can assign ISO to the right side front or rear dials...

Well, it’s not just any, needs 9v 3amp pack, which hardly any power bank offers.
You can do the same with the Fuji.
And native ken's support because of olympus control buttons stabilization look. Audio and first party audio accessories.
Great review
Aside the battery life, I prefer the GH6
In the future, Panasonic have to release firmware to include ProRes LT and external record support for Black magic Raw to make the GH6 more competitive
7:32 - Amen, we need Prores LT in the GH6!!! It's so useful for long form documentary work and for work that doesn't need heavy grading!
Glad Chris was out for this one, he would've been bored to death
But is it just me, or was the GH6 out of focus on some shots? Was it in manual focus?
Yeah, i thought the same. I check the quality to make sure its not 720p when watch it but its a little out of focus i think.
I thought about that too. Why does the GH6 look low res and not sharp (at 1080p youtube playback)?
I think they must have been in continues autofocus. I noticed that the GH6 kept micro hunting the face every time he moved his head whereas the X-H2s lock on all the time.
seems its in manual and he missed focused it.
GH6 was in continuous Face Detect AF-C with the focus limiter engaged. It did sometimes drift a bit, though never too much due to focus limiter. Them's the breaks with Panasonic.
I agree with all points you make for Fuji. I wish they clean out the 240fps

Great comparison as always. Jordan you're the MAN for video, that's for sure.
This is really a deep review, and that's why I love your channel. Good job guys
Open gate is a must now. If future cameras don't have that feature, I won't consider them.
And lenses. 😀🙃
And I agree, Fuji dropped the ball by leaving off the stills/video switch they put on the XT4...love that switch. Fuji should also make an articulating+tilt screen... make everyone happy.
I regard you as best camera reviewer. You have got the exact vision to choose the best picture quality.
Two things I wish you had covered was the audio capabilities of both cameras and the ease of use of the menu systems of both.
Nice review. I would get the Fuji if they had better lens support. They really knocked it out of the park IMO. But m43 just has every lens you can imagine... and then some.
How many lenses do you need?
@@maartenmidden1651 a good holy trinity is a start!
I love my GH5ii!
Unless it’s a consequence of the new sensor design…?
this.. its just weird they can track everything else 😂
Really appreciated this Jordan! Thanks for this video.
IMO the hybrid winner is the Fuji and if you’ll exclusively shoot video, a BlackMagic product makes a lot more sense for the price point. Right?! Though I’ve never used a BMPCC.
thanks, great comparison with lots of insights, I look forward to hear your opinion also about the upcoming x-h2 ...
I wish all manufacturers would embrace the flip/tilt combo screen.
The disadvantage is the bulkier mechanism. But yes, I agree that most cameras would be much better with the fully-er articulating screens.
Photography is often easier with the multi-way tilt rather than the flip screen.
Great video THANKS A LOT I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS 💯
You make some good points but I think I’ll still go Pentax.
Excellent comparison Jordan!
Great review, lots of insight into both cameras
7:15 Jordan, I think we need the video guide for what kind of format we should using for.
GH6 + X-H2S best duo to cover all aspects and flexibility instead of spending on just one high end full frame camera.
Is that the same background at 9:23???
How is Xh2s with firmware 3.0 update, can you do a quick update
Great video Jordan. Seems both are great, and I think for me I’d go for the gh6 if I wanted mostly a video camera, and the fuji if it was my do all camera.
The video kinda necitates the need for a “what are the best fuji video lenses” video. Bit of a minefield.
Excellent video. Incidently, I don't shoot video, but I enjoyed this review. Rational, clear and to the point, bravo!
Excellent video review since I was considering both cameras
just looking at the switch between two cameras, the Fuji is a clear winner.
Now, I know that many owners enjoy their Fuji cameras, but I personally have become hesitant for professional use.
would love an update to know if you compared the gh7
You forgot about audio. Panasonic wins that category so call it a tie.
Also the Panasonic/Leica f/1.7 zoom lenses are without equal in ANY format and ONLY work with m4/3. Another point for Panasonic.
I am no video guy but in the review Fuji appears much better to my eyes than the Panasonic. Fuji is sharper, eyes are in focus and colors look better to me.
Great job as always Chris. Great helpful video for creators like myself
Does your review apply to Panasonic lumix S5 as well? or its better than GH6
The S5II / S5II-X add phase-detect AF which should be a win for many users.
Why’s the Fuji’s image so poor during slow motion?
Thanks for the video Jordan

My choice is... the GH5 M2. Way more affordable and can do live streaming out in the field, and has the anamorphic support that I want.

You should do the Fuji vs the OM-1 now for photography.
Well that's not gonna be a fair fight...
@@el_fucko yeah, I agree! The OM-1 would win easily:)
Great comparison. Thanks for your efforts. Unfortunately, the Fuji lacks longer lenses. On the other hand, the Panasonic 200/2.8 is such an excellent lens for the bucks.
Olympus adds some other long lenses, for now. OM Systems has discontinued some, so only the current stock is available new.
Fuji cameras have the same usbc power option as well. I use it with a power bank for interviews all the time.

@Random Thought I might just like the sharpening/picture on the fuji better. On my phone and computer/monitor (24") it looks ok but still a difference. On my TV (55") the difference is bigger becasue it always shows how bad video can be...or my own photos that looked sharp on my phone :) Well. I guess I prefer the Fuji.

well, how about audio? 🙂 which one is better?
Can you please do a comparison between Fujifilm X-H2s and Sony A7iv? pleeeeeeease!
Panasonic lenses are so much cheaper than Fuji. For a hobbyist like me that’s a big reason to stay with micro 4 thirds
I used to have Panasonic and now Fujifilm and comparing the lenses to each other Panasonic and Fujifilm are on pair if not that Panasonic Leica branded lenses are way more expensive then Fujifilm.

Is thr gh6 really that bad in photos? I use my gh5 for video and photp and i qm very very happy with the pics my gh5 can do. I dont see any problems with dynamic range
It’s fine for 95% of what most people need. Just don’t expect full frame Sony or Nikon performance.
no, I shot side by side with my G9 when I got it.
