    If you find yourself watching this video, you've most likely bought a cheap rubber strap and you're not very satisfied with it. I'm pretty much in the same boat and was curious about the official figure that Omega charges for their straps so I gave them a call.
    I don't know if my comment is still relevant given this video is now a year old, but I just got off the phone with the Omega Boutique (in Australia) asking for a quote for the rubber strap. They quoted me $380 for the rubber strap and $70 for the pin buckle (total AUD$450). Convert that to whatever currency you wish. The quoted price is a bit steep I'll admit but when you're playing with the big boys in the watch game, this shouldn't really be surprising.

    Hey brother. Your video is (as usual) excellent in detail and content. Thanks for always helping out our community in making educated decisions regarding our purchases. I have the white seamaster 300m as well. Bought it from my AD on rubber strap for 35% off list and then bought the steel bracelet direct from Omega out of New Jersey. I have been on the fence to put a Red Zealande on this timepiece but your video has helped me decide to make the move to spice up the look. Keep the videos coming, I appreciate all you do. Best to you and your family.

    I bought the Omega OEM rubber a month ago. The strap is 230 Euro and the clasp is 50 Euro. So it is 280 Euro in total. The Aqua Terra Rubber is much more expensive. 220,- rubber, 220,-clasp and 220,- for both metal parts. And that was befotre the last price rise. That makes the Diver 300 rubber a bargain. ;)

    The first big premium watch maker like omega that sells just their clasp for a reasonable cost so you can rock the original bracelet worry free will be incredible. Imagine a $100 part and having your bracelet look brand new. I think this is something all watch companies should do

      Breitling sells the deployant clasp separately from strap but it's 500 to 600 plus depending on finish . The rubber strap part for deployant is cheap though I think it was 120 bucks or so and high quality rubber.

    If I was going to do it, I'd probably go for the Omega one, just to be brand loyal like you said. You'd want everything to match on the watch, especially when a watch is that expensive. However I don't like fixed keepers. I much prefer floating keepers on rubber straps and leather straps too. So I probably be happier in the long run with the Zalande.

      @@johnkennedy9078 no my friend, you should never be paying 1000 anything for that rubber omega strap.
      Omega do two types of rubber strap, one with the buckle like you see on this video, this should cost around 250 depending on your country etc.
      Their second strap is the same rubber but with a nice deployable clasp, these are more expensive and can set you back around 500, as you have to buy the rubber and the clasp.

    I have this Zealande strap on an Omega 300m diver and it’s more comfortable than the strap on my Squale 1521, Seiko 009 and my Marathon GSAR. Not that I have a problem with those straps, just that I’m less aware of the watch on my wrist in hot weather with the Zealande strap on the Omega. It’s a personal thing but that’s how it works for me. Would recommend to anyone who’s unsure of buying one.
    Glad I didn’t get the Omega strap as I’d be more worried about damaging it than I am the Zealande. It just feels ready for everyday use as I live by and spend a lot of time in the ocean.

    My big problem with the white dial version is it just doesnt have that beautiful shine that the black has. That black dial with that amazing shine is such an eye catcher and a huge part of why it looks so great, and its completely missing from the white. Did they change something about the white version? I have seen white dial watches that have that glorious shine, but the seamaster white doesnt have it. Its a shame because i love white dial watches and would get this version if it was like that but its much more matte which im sure some people love but for me its a deal breaker. Currently shopping for a new seamaster so ill have to get the black.

      I have the black. Honestly I almost feel the polished black ceramic dial is a lil too much, but I love it anyways. Just seems like it reflects and catches light a lil too much in certain lighting. If they offered a matte dial in the current model I would've bought that.
      My small complaint is I wished the "Seamaster" on the dial was more legible, maybe it's the red lettering idk, just seems smashed together.
      I nearly drove myself mad trying to decide which watch to buy between the white, black, or Planet Ocean in white dial with red bezel. I would've bought the PO but the thickness was too much (I would scratch it like crazy), but really I do plan on buying it in ruger next few years anyway lol. I did like the white a lot too, it almost gives the illusion that the watch is larger, looks super clean too.

    Hey Rob! Nice work here. I have an older Seamaster 300m (2010) and wanted to get a rubber for it. I have a Vanguard for my Tudor BB58 and LOVE it. It's too bad they don't make one for Omega. Anyway, I ordered the Zealande in red and it is very nice. However, just like you pointed out, the floating keeping is annoying, and I wish it was more secure. I also wish that it tapered more, like the Vanguard does for the Tudor. That is a VERY nice look. I was thinking maybe I can order the Omega strap down the road so I have a black version as well. Maybe even play around with popping the buckle on and off and using it on the Zelande when I want to wear the red one. If there was a way to "shrink" the floating keeper, or some type of micro flat red rubber band maybe I can replace it with? That would be pretty cool. Because other than that, I think it is nice, and of course is really the only option if someone wants a red color anyway.

      I have the Zealande on my Seamaster. Strap installed effortlessly on both sides, using patience and a proper strap tool. No complaints and the strap itself is first-rate. Unlike Rubber B and Everest, Zealande makes these rubber straps specifically for the Omega Seamaster and a limited number of other watch brands.

      @@inCanada55 I liked the Zealande. I'm glad yours installs so easily. That was not the case with mine. Perhaps manufacturing tolerances? I have a professional strap tool and change straps on watches frequently, so I do believe it was the strap and not me. The Omega, on the other hand, installs in seconds. I literally had to fight with the Zealande. I do still have the Zealande as a backup.

    What is the benefit or difference paying 5k at an authorized dealer vs 3800 on the grey website mark. Why pay 1200 more?

    • @benevolentautore4463
      @benevolentautore4463 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly warranty depending on seller. Or worse, possibly receiving a fake. If neither of those is a concern the Grey is a good deal.

    • @ohcaptainmycaptain3019
      @ohcaptainmycaptain3019 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benevolentautore4463 It's fair to say there is the risk of getting ripped off. But there are several highly reputable Grey Market options with guarantee's and high buyer confidence ratings. Obviously online grey market sites such as Chrono24 offers the seller a thousand times more client base.

    • @ohcaptainmycaptain3019
      @ohcaptainmycaptain3019 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many dealers will purchase as many of the same watch as they can and then sell them on the grey market at a lower than retail price. Private sellers don't have the option other than a grey market, however, to the owner the time piece is always worth a million bucks, when the market price is several zeros below that.
      An Authorised Dealer and boutique stores need to cover the watch's advertising space on the display cabinet, if they are not selling after a few months they will be advertised at a lower price on the grey market.
      Conversely the Ebay prices are generally higher because of the commission. Jomashop are usually 20-30% more affordable.

    I only wear factory straps and bracelets on good watches. Aftermarket makes the entire watch look cobbled up and not well put together.
    Same with cars. Only OEM additions -- never any aftermarket items (sans roof racks for SUVs).
