@@Charles-pf7zyyeaah there is a video of some veterans I believe interviewing Tyler Grey (Trent in the series) one detail he mentioned was, in Season 1, the episdoe where they confront the former GROM guy, he said they had to wear visible earplugs during foot recon scene as opposed to in ear ones kike they would irl because otherwise it looked fake even it would have been the real thing 😂
one thing i do appreciate, almost the ENTIRE SHOW is run by Vets and active-duty members I believe. And they put a HUGE amount of effort into making it as real as possible... I mean they have Tyler fucking Grey!!!!
Yeah Brock is an active LEO and LE K9 Handler, Full Metal was actually a Navy Seal and yeah Tyler Grey former CAG Operator. Definitely heavy hitters on the show
One thing I noticed immediately in Season 6 Episode 3 i believe. The one where they attack the munitions depot at the port in Turkey. The magazines they used in the M4 platforms were chambered in 7.62x39 mags bc of the covert nature of the mission. This level of detail displays some effort to appeal to those that understand accurately the mission. If this is confusing to you read on for a brief moment.
The team could not leave a trace of western presence so the guns are chambered in calibers that fit the local area as to not reveal US involvement after the fact. Quite impressive in this case.
There’s a video with one of the actors (I think his name is Tyler) who was in the military and was also the guy giving advice for how would be in reality. He mentioned how the end goal was to make it feel authentic even if they couldn’t completely make it all 100% accurate. He also mentioned how they would sometimes try to be accurate but then it wouldn’t look right, it looked fake, so they changed it. He actually did mention details like the one you mentioned because it was a detail that would make it authentic while also looking purposeful for the scene.

Great tactical breakdown, thank you. My only job in Vietnam was Ambush patrol. We lived in the jungle and never went back to the LZ. We set a record at on mission, we were out for 78 days solid in the Jungle. I know exactly what a “False Dawn” that he’s talking about.
Excellent review and thought provoking. These guys have the luxury of practicing this for hours. The average person will never be able to get to this level of situational awareness. I still learned a lot from this senaero. Keep providing this type of critique.
Great content thanks. I Love Seal team. I know there are many things Hollywood does that doesn’t reflect real world. But compared to others Seal team does a good job as Hollywood goes. I especially appreciate you recognizing what is done in these shows that might not be totally realistic but they sacrifice some of that for entertainment purposes,lighting etc. For that reason I have subscribed to your channel!

Really enjoy your channel, not schlepping brands, straight up honestly. Walking the walk. I was a USAF intel analyst with quite a few covert ops during my time (Cold War, ‘77 -‘85). Our covert activity was always a analyst, radio intercept operator and security team. Trained alongside the security team, got humbled many times. Was a athlete most of my life, but a air drop and a ruck with gear took on a whole new meaning. Like you pointed out, we wear in the enemies back yard. Growing up in the piney woods north of Houston, tracking and hunting game really helped. Keep spreading the Good News of salvation through Christ Jesus.

Loved the review and love your videos. I also love this show. All of the points you pointed out in this video were touched on in the show just in different episodes. The only thing I haven’t seen was the recon. The glare on the scope in other episodes has been pointed out with Ray ( the guy on the spotting scope) having covered it with his hand to avoid being detected. In the last clip they had learned that the op was canked, their cover may have been blown, and they had to evacuate without detection because they were on North Korean soil. I hope this helps the credibility with the show a little more. If not, what do I know I’m not an operator. Still though, I truly love the videos.
Hollywood stuff sometimes kills the realism, even when the show is one of the best there ever is.
Sucks that they have to do bullshit formations out in the open with Hollywood lighting just to get good cinematic shots. Even when they’re trying to flex the gucci gear and wouldn’t want to cover it with netting, but I guess that’s why people are drawn to the show, great tactics that still have that Hollywood flexing

I hate when these Hollywood people setup these scenes. What no camo paint on the face. White faces show up so well in the moonlight. We always used it when patrolling day and night. USMC Vet.
But in this scene there isn't any moon light.
Love the expert's review. I know a lot of us, amateurs, look at the silver screen as the instruction manual like flicking the revolver's cylinder shut. Correct info may come useful and save us more than just a gun.

This show is phenomenal season 5 to me is probably the slowest there wasn't alot of character dev but compared to season 1-4 and even 6 everything was so good def season 5 was slowest four me. But still love this show so sad there is bad blood between clay and Jason irl

The point he brought up about making mistakes on purpose to not expose tactics makes a whole lot of sense, but I never would have thought of it, but as soon as he said it, I thought to myself "duh."

Love the show. I guess they can only show so much until they cross the line of TTP's. Also wonder how much the military has to say about them producing shows like this.
You can’t half ass DA CQB. You either have to be a master, or you have no business attempting to do what DEVGRU does. No airsoft LARP training will ever make you proficient enough to do these kinds of missions. You will die a very early death. It is pointless to study cqb for every purpose except for home defense. Ordinary people just don’t have the time or experience to become proficient at raid scenarios
You can’t be “proficient” at CQB. You have to be a Master. Anything less and you’ll have a false sense of self confidence and you’ll die an early death.
Would you care to react to SAS Rogue Heroes, a series about the founding and operations of the SAS in WW2 North Africa? It's a fun series to watch, very easy to binge.
From watching your videos I have determined, in a SHTF scenario, you have no business doing any “spec ops” shit unless you’ve already been professionally trained. People that train w their friends on weekends have no business trying to do what SEALs do and should focus instead on the basics of survivalism, starting fires, hunting, fishing.
One of the writer is a former navy seal and full metel, one of the actors is a former navy seal too, and there is an army ranger in the writers too
Even in Army Basic for Quartermaster they taught us to stay off the ridge line/high ground where your silhouette is back dropped by sky... and maintain intervals. The show drives me nuts when they do this.

Now I play video games like Call of Duty & Ghost recon! I really pay attention to what you and other operators say to heart! And it is worth it! It has made me a better player! And very hard to kill in video games! For example most people sit right at a window! I always sit in cover in the back! And thanks to the PS2 game SOCOM U.S. NAVY SEALS video games ( THE FIRST MODERN WARFARE GAME TO BE RELEASED IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY WAS ON PS2) ( COD WAS MAKING WW2 GAMES UNTIL PS3) that tought me how to set up claymore's! And how to do a ambush so effectively! That I was really hard to kill in COD4 MODERN WARFARE when it came out! I wish I had a video of the games from back then! Because I would have liked your insight into the tactics that I would use! Also when I use a sniper I always only my head and rifle! If at a window i use a tactic that came to me and worked well! I would stack up like I was doing a breach and shoot out a window without looking out the window it's a very small opening to work with! It was very effective though! When I play COD I KEEP IN MIND very tactic that I was told and use them in the way that it is used for! One Match in COD4 MODERN WARFARE I WAS ON A SHIP MAP! AND WAS SNIPING AGAINST A REAL LIFE SNIPER THAT WAS SERVING AT THE TIME! And he at the end of the match because a friend of mine and he was impressed by how I played! And asked if I served! I told him no and that I am not allowed to because of missing one eye and being the last male of my family to carry on my name! I give all my credit to the game SOCOM and the people like you! I'm just a one eyed gamer nothing more nothing less!

What I love is that they have real operators as actors. Tyler Grey former Green Beret also in CAG. Scott Fox was a former seal. The K9 guy is an active LEO and K9 Handler.

Personally I can't stand TV show and Movies when it comes to military, any firearms or tactics because people that actually served can call them out for their many mistakes just how you were doing in this video. I mean what's the point of having technical advisors on sets if they don't do their job correctly. But thanks for the video and hopefully it teaches people in the business to be accurate when it comes to things like this in the future.
My biggest gripe is when Hollywood does nvg scenes with nods and they’re running visible red lasers, lol!
One of the most egregious things I've seen/heard was on the show Designated Survivor, where one of the characters referred to a Seal as Sergeant. Stopped watching after that. Usually it's Hollywood referring to Marines as Soldiers, or getting usmc uniforms wrong
Tactics can't always be right, or no one would enjoy the movie. Oh and they not supposed to give out actual tactics on screen.
