All time favourite episode (thus far) was Season 3, Episode 13 "Fog of War"...a lot of retrospective and introspective action regarding a mission failure, the AAR process, and trust issues. Also, one of the best lines ever on the show from Full Metal regarding how to deal with someone abusing the team's trust...
spoilers ahead - is this the episode where the junior seal threw a frag (i think) and killed some civilians or something like that, and ray starts freaking out and thinks it was him cause he can't find his frag in his kit?
@@seank7325 yea that was a great episode. though the junior deserved it, it somehow hurt to see someone's wings cut. imo one of my favourite episodes is when bravo 1 gets cut off from the group with cereburus who is injured, and its about bravo 1 fighting mental and physical battles with a wounded dog getting back to his team. one of the best ep imo
I think the thing that really hit me with the episode (other than Full Metal) was the whole issue of personal accountability and trust required to do not only that kind of work (I'm retired military) but also the job I do now, as my bosses need to trust that when I say I did something, I did and that I'm able to admit if/when I did do or didn't something, even if it's potentially to my detriment - something lacking in a subsegment of society these days where people blame everyone but themselves for stuff...

Another interesting experience regarding this subject is the admiral who was a POW in Vietnam (Admiral Stockdale). But one comment he made is that the POWs who didn't make it were the ones who were too optimistic (i.e. thinking they would be released in two weeks). The ones also who didn't make it were the ones who were too pessimistic ("I am never getting out."). The ones who did the best as POWs were the ones who blended optimism ("I will get out some day" with the realization that until then it would be very hard). This is known as the Stockdale Paradox.
Love the show seal team. My roommate hates because she will come down for dinner and I have it on and she starts getting into forget about dinner and her food gets cold. You also rock thank for your work.
Shame they are cancelling SEAL Team, really liked the action and tactics on it. Soap Opera stuff was limited but actually relevant to the story and lifestyle which kept it flowing.
You guys just get better amd better. This was such a good episode! I thought Able was joking when he posted "Review begins at 7:20". He wasn't 🐭 But the best part of the show is the stories you tell! ✌
Tom Spooner on the srs show recently said when he got to Delta they had him stay in the back and just drop Chem lights until he could keep up with their cqb etc pace
Didn’t a guy put some real rounds into an Apache at NTC a few years ago? First round blew of his BFA and the rest of the magazine fired fine. Huge investigation how he got live ammo into the training event.
If y'all went to a JRTC in Louisiana it had to be Fort Polk, I worked on the base back in 2005, it's a big base and they do pretty much everything there, while I don't think they still run it, but that's where "Tigerland", there is actually a movie about it, starring Colin Farrell, maybe y'all can review it, though I don't remember how good it was or wasn't!
Talking about the "CAG Shuffle" that is that jogging pace while assaulting the objective has me thinking of that TH-cam video of Matt Pranka (ex CAG guy) helmet cam footage of his team doing a hostage rescue excercise. There is no shortage of surprise, speed or VoA.
if it’s the video i’m thinking of, he was literally sprinting the entire time and was MOVING. that’s coming from me a guy who can run sub 11 100m and a 4.6 40yd😭😭
Lioness season 1 ep 2 had our favorite Lady jarhead go through an "unsanctioned" SERE training by a bunch a cag guys. Interested to see u guys take a Crack at it.
You guys should react to the real delta go pro footage of the helicopter cqb/hostage training. It’s only about 30 seconds long but it’s legit. The helicopter lands, the delta guy runs like 100yards, takes out a couple of bad guys without even breaking stride, then kicks in the door taking out a couple others. It’s wild and shows the actual speed.
This, On Cinema, and Harmontown have been my saving grace during some super bad times. Thanks guys! Would be interested to see what you think of On Cinema, a comedy parody of movie review shows that devolves into insanity.
Theres helmet training cam footage of Matt Pranka. Dude is hitting running head shots at 40 yards. Insane. Ive learned soomuch about shooting from him and those he associates with.
As you go down and watch this series, you will more and more realize that Jason Hayes is the toxic leader that most of the military suffers from. The well accomplished leader who stuck in a level that he mastered but doesn’t want his subordinates to pass it. With Clay, with Ray, he is just want to be the alpha and cannot tolerate younger, better members. He is not a teacher or a parent as he try to sell himself (both rules are about to make the next generation better than myself) but don’t let anyone pass me or better than me. That is the textbook definition of toxic leadership.
@@BanksPUBG what I learned from our U.S. Tier 1/2 instructors while I was serving in a tier 2 unit in Hungary: there is no I in team. Meanwhile this guy: “I’m the team leader, it’s my team, I make the decision….”. He fucks over his 2IC 2-3 times, disobey orders, tells his squadron leader to GFYS, etc… this character, tier 0/1/2/3/4/5 would be dishonorable discharged even before he makes to BUDS. More over: his own teammates would say collectively to command: it’s him or US. Because he is not just a threat on our personal safety on missions (what we accepted with the job application) but it threatens: the mission and national security. I understand team cohesion and protect each other, but even his character says multiple times: front sight focus (what is a phrase of pistol shooting), duty before everything, etc all the gung ho shit. But he himself fails to do that. And sadly that is the toxic behavior of senior tier 2 guys in Europe. (I cannot talk about tier 1/2 guys from other countries because I have little or no personal experience) but I’m pretty sure that we were the same shoes
Hey guys I started watching seal team few weeks ago, and when I came across that episode I was wondering what sere school is really like. Going solely from what you said, the cadre is allowed to do a lot to you? But what is the limit? Can they waterboard you until you pass out? Can they break your fingers? Can they hang you upside down?
speaking about sear would you ever think about watching gi jane? i think it would be cool to talk about the tactics at the end of the movie im a movie lover not anything military
