You Sir are Absolutely Correct.I felt bad for Shawn because the brother was just all over the place, even through he is a wealth of Knowledge but he is ADHD big time. The reason he is all over the place, he is also a Man of Principles. Listening to his words is almost like listening to A Genius who is a Pacifist to a degree. I thank you for your service. I believe I agree with on Rich or Poor I grew up in a family where my mother did exactly what his Mother Mixing the Carnation Milk. She would buy 2 Gallons of Milk and mix it together to make Six Gallons of Milk, she had it down when it came to not getting it too thin. I wasn’t ever beaten as a fact my dad never laid a hand of me in anger. But lookout my Mountain of East Tennessee Raised would absolutely tear that but up, to this day I think that were half of my Ass Went too. Lolll he is Brilliant, Loving Caring Man who truly needs a Good friend to talk to because at the end of the day that’s all I physician really is a person you can trust your feelings to without fear of reprisal from the Whacko Police to come to get him. There is a Bit of Paranoia in his words but not really his Actions.I Digress lolll Mama would go to the local Grocery store and ask the owner Joe Beaver (who just passed away) to Giveher some Groceries on Credit. Just to maybe get folks to completely understand my Mon and Dad Brought us from California in 1969 after the Great Inland Empire Flood where like now Big Bear in the High Mountains got Record amount of Snow the Ir Started Raining then the Rain Started in Heavy Rain. As most people would understand all the Snow and Rain built up so much it Breached Big Bear Dam then Flowed down at Amazing Speed Wall of Water and Mud. I remember be outside with my Brother that was 18 months older then I was. So he was teaching to ride his Bicycle then it started to rain so the Baby Sitter made us come inside, so my next memory is watching a Bull Dozer pushing Mud down the Road, the crazy thing was the Mud was like 4’ Ft. deep. He pushing a path for people to get their stuff I surmise ready to take with them, We left to come to Michigan on a Whim Decision that evening, My Cousin was Here her and my Mother were like sister. They were pretty well to do but he worked at GM and had a Auto Repair Business he ran out of his Garage, they also owned like 200 Rental Home all over Flint, Michigan. So all I remember after that was coming here then spending time between both Tennessee and Michigan, my mother intentionally send my away at (8) Eight Years old on a Grey hound Bus in Flint then a bunch of Stops along the way. My dad told me find you an older Black fella because he will help you navigate the Bus Station. So I asked a green Haired Man who did exactly what my dad told he would do (Take Care of Me then rode with me to Knoxville, Tennessee. Think about that really Good a (8) Eight year old Son put on a one way ticket to Tennessee with a plane to come down to pick me up. My Grand Mother became a very Stories Individual with a Wealth of Knowledge. She was Born in 1896 so you have a perspective of her Age. But she was Awesome Dipped Snuff which was literally Grown, Ground up to very Fine particles then dried it then started the process as it went, she carried a Old Soup Can with some Napkins inside the can to absorb the Spit she would do. I tried thinking it was cool But it was absolute Terribly Nasty twisting Crap. She was like a Mother to me. He I was (8) Years old out grabbing things for her because she never drove because the roads are so busy the Cars are in great Shape but the Horses, we bought them from the Clare Horse Auction. She also was a Cereal Person, Eating Frosted Flake or Apple Puffs. I want to do a story of this guy at the end of your Time in Nashville, Tennessee. Dude probably thought to himself. I Thank You Both for letting me Film. There was a Huge 100, 000 Bushel of Corn.we are getting him back from the Somali Area In Minnesota so he fell right into being from the Desert in Afghanistan to the lakes and Woods of Minnesota. I wish him Well. There are many times all I needed to get a few second to give me time Transition over to the War Fighter who never have been ins branch of service other the 23 at the Fire House. Hopefully the Car will start up so I can haul it for the Dude. I finally figured out why my Mother did was she did sending my away every Summer because she knew I was on the Cusps of Having a Nervous Break down, well that a whole other story about getter out of a Relationship with someone who loves Alcohol and Cigarettes more then His Own Family ie; Super Tools yo fix anything so this Bus mad a Stop it seemed. I want to touch base with a Lady who is from Somewhere over in Sand Land.. I love both Harbor Beach as well as Harrisville Area, with the Campground with a very nice Pontoon so I can go fishing with it, to catch whatever you catch. To me there is nothing more rewarding Eating Food that that was Harvested…. Good Luck to You on your life’s Journey, us having Three Grand Children, there is just one Boy for him. But at the end of the day it’s all rights right for the Child, Maybe Maybe Not. May you also Have the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in your Heart.

It's by design. As was pointed out, it's rich vs. poor and always has been. Right now the ultra rich are going for it - to return to a feudal like system where they are in absolute control. To get there they've destroyed the family and pitted everyone they possibly can against each other. Classic divide and conquer.
The irony is the way out is what this interview was all about - giving 3 seconds and being open. You don't have to agree or even understand. You just gotta give people the space to live their lives, which are tough enough already without anyone piling on.
Unfortunately, in this hyped up culture that's been over 3 decades in the making, it is VERY difficult to put into practice. But like the Chinese finger puzzle, it's the only way to break out of the trap. Whether society can or not remains to be seen.

    • @Itsthatoneguy371
      @Itsthatoneguy371 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I don’t think it was so much Shawn “killing it”, it’s Shawn moving past stereotypes and giving someone a safe space to express themselves and speak freely. Letting them live their truth and tell a story about a part(s) of their life.
Maybe “Shawn’s accommodating it” is not as catchy but maybe more accurate.
I do agree, it was an excellent interview!

Damn dude. This video just changed my outlook. I wasn’t a Seal, but I was an interrogator for two tours in Iraq. Everything that he has said is spot on. Most of my trauma stems from the inhumane treatment (othering) of human beings, simply because they’re different.

Great story!!! Too many guys in the SOF community seem overly desensitized. They commonly come off as either broken individuals that are incredibly depressed or honestly come off a bit like psychopaths that like to hunt people. It's nice to see there's some people in that community that are not just decent but abnormally good and unbroken.

    • @raygunreagan2274

Never seen a interview with any sof member coming off as liking hunting people and the depression is expected if you went over seas performing some of the most dangerous missions and you lose those that are closest to you and you regularly see the worst in humanity

I don’t know this combat veteran, but I like him. I like his story and I appreciate his message as well as his character. He’s very intense the way he talks, it’s like you can tell he’s definitely a trained killer, at the same time you can tell he’s a decent human being 🙏🏽. Thank you for your service sir, I appreciate your sacrifice 🙏🏽

Interesting what you say. I also sense he is a good human being, with love and compassion. But I also sense what was conditioned basically on top of all this, the trained killer. How weird it is to push a program of killing on top of a natural program of love, isn't it? Here you can see both in one person.
      Hope he is doing well.

I started out watching this one a little blank tbh … then by around the 3 to 4 minute mark I was pretty darn captivated. I could see how genuine the story was and I feel like I knew roughly where it was going.
Then the last few minutes of the message was like the bell ringer!
This was an awesome interview and a great message.
I loved it! And I really like the way Shawn sits so quiet but intently listening throughout - and you just know that his own similar experiences are rolling while he listens … cos I did the same … then the calm casual close out with the awesome human being!
    Great stuff !
