This saved me likely hundreds of dollars from what a shop would have charged and took all of 40 mins start to finish including drying time. Thanks!
Is the bumper staying on with no issues? I may need to do this unfortunately
Make yourself a bit of ABS slurry (mix acetone with abs plastic pieces in a jar), it will bond 10x better than plastic welder. Use a soldering iron to melt in some mesh in the plastic and top it off with the ABS slurry then drill a hole and it's good as new.
This is all a valid fix, and the only thing I would adjust on these instructions would be to make the hole bigger. Having that bolt tightly held by the bumper cover is going to transfer literally 'all' of the road vibrations directly through that bit of plastic and shorten the lifespan of the repair. A larger hole (allowing more of the vibration to transfer from the bolt to the mounting) would I think, yield a better end result.
Not all Heroes wear capes. Thank you
This one wears a cap.
My wife just damage her bumper off of a high curb. This will come in handy for sure. Awesome!
He said u wanna let it dry for 20 minutes to 1 hour, but we let it dry for 15 minutes only. Lol 😂
I used JB Weld. Didn't get hard for 2 hours. Didn't strap it in until 24 hours later.
Que produto é esse?
I never of thought of doing this way. Thank you for this video! Cheap and easy fix!
I have the same issue as my bumber clips are broken from the right fender side. I went to a local body repair workshop, and the guy told me we would replace bumber, and both fenders and estimated cost would be $2000 min and $2500 max. I was like WTF no thanks.
I came back home and watched your video and luckily have all the tools available and fixed the bumber in 1.5 hours without paying 2 grands.
There are sharks in my neighborhood.
Holy hell 2500???? They were smoking crack 😂
@@ots9358 Yeah, Seattle sucks!
@@ots9358yep they gotta pay for it somehow!!
That's some unethical b.s. gives mechanics bad reputations.. but, too many do take advantage. TH-cam at its finest.. doing what it was meant to do!!
@@ots9358in NYC i got a $1,600 estimate to replace a fender which is unreasonable considering a fender's $200, 2 cans of paint $120 and it takes 1.5hrs for a beginner to uninstall and replace. Pricing themselves out of work but i suppose people are paying or they wouldn't still be in business
That was brilliant. Well done.
Forget the haters in these comments, your a genius considering I needed a a quick and effective fix, and this one was straight to the point and easy to follow.. Respect from the UK
Exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate this video.
Excellent!
Excellent!!
Excellent!!!
I'm needing to fix a "faux pas" on my car I just made a few weeks ago and am figuring out how to remove my bumper and fix the tabs that were affected, bend my quarter panel back to it's original shape and reattach the bumper!!!!
This is just what I needed!!!
Thank you for your idea and explaining it so well!!!
Ten thumbs up!!!!
Bruh, I am freaking impressed. Good job bro.
That Permatex epoxy is the shiz! Used it to fabricate the torn-off piece of my bumper (reinforced with plastic cut from a can lid + Gorilla tape), drilled out the hole, then bolted that f-ing bumper cover right back where it belongs. Doesn't look like it was ever torn off. Thanks for showing how simple this really is.
Na orientação de uso do produto...: O adesivo não liga a maioria dos plásticos de polietileno ou polipropileno.
O plástico de parachoques, é de qual material?
Not all heros wear a cape, but all of them know how to use tape
NICELY DONE ...and well explained with awesome camera work. Exactly what I was look for....best explanation
This was incredibly satisfying to watch!
Great solution thanks, thanks. Just what I was looking for!
Cheaper, faster and simplier than any other video watched 👍
Super good idea. Thanks
This was such a great vid, thank you
Thank you so much your video was really helpful.
I used alcohol at 50% and epoxy. Do you know that I had that epoxy in my storage, but never thought to use it like this! Thank you for your video I realized that this was the solution to repair my 2006 Mazda 3 bumper cover edge.
That was 👌 awesome work.
Nice job and a video that shows it all - so anyone can do the same . . . bravo!
Exactly what I need.. thanks
Thank you so much this blew my mind
Thank you this is exact the solution to i was looking for to fix the front bumper of my car. Love the content.
Did you fix it ?
never thought about this way,, nice one!
TY so much Sir. I do okay sometimes with mechanical parts but, I know nothing about body work. I hit like and I subscribed to you sir. I will share your knowledge. God bless you 😉
Saved me hundreds of dollars thanks
Nice job!
DUDE ------------------> you are a legend! Thank you
Thanks for this video
I fix mine with a plastic repair tool using one of the metal clips and also the convinient is clip is bendable sometimes the bumps are sand down and don’t hold anyway with this idea and with clip you can bend it up and it hold it or sand flat the bump and use a little screw small enough to fit on clips head
Thanks for this video. I'm gonna try this on my scion. Bumper keeps falling off from one side only. It's a pain. I'm curious, how's your fix holding up after all this time?
Going to try this on my 7 series until I can replace the bumper. Thanks for the quick fix idea!!!
Awesome! Never would of thought of this. Thanks so much!
Good job, out of the 8 videos I watched before, yours is the only one that makes any sense. Thank you
Mind blown. really, wow
nice tip bro!
Ahhhh so nice
I have this issue with my Q50 as well lol passenger side. My wheel setup isn’t even aggressive it’s crazy lol Great video
i have a 14’ 400 hp taurus i’ve only done highway driving with , a lot of it. i can’t keep the front of it together for the life of me and the car sits pretty high. having new plastics put all under engine bay just buying an entirely new bumper because truckers have chipped the h*ll out of it . rest of the car flawless . Passenger side front bumper sticking nearly an inch out just zip tied lol can barely notice but still looks wack to me. 255/45/19 all season nitto
Life savior !!
Good job bro
Thanks!!!
Research has been studied over now its time to get to work excellent video and work
good job
Good info
Freaking brilliant dude. I’m going to do this today!
How did it go?
Thank you. I need that plastic welding home. I have some fender lin😮ers tabs to repair.
Makes me wonder what would work better, the bonding agent or getting a plastic welder and going that route?
Very good job. The filling material that you used is harder or the same as the car bumper?
Good looking g
God bless yall !!!❤
My clips bugged me soo much i wanted to replace the bumper 😭. Thanks ❤
Grat work bro, you to used fibee glas to have more harderer
Oh, so you guys basically did what I just did. Except I used a metal washer, and JB welded around it. If that falls out I'll try this. Thanks, I didn't wanna buy one of those tacky bumper quick releases. I'm too old for that kinda shit. Oh I lost the screw and that white thingy to screw into, so I just used a cable tie. It doesn't work perfectly, as if I hit a bump it maybe comes out 2mm, but it works.
That looks really good. I have no idea what you actually did though lol
Good video, thanks. Why not put the plastic permatex under the plastic so you don't have to sand away later?
It wouldn't be flush to the other tabs
Thank yoj don't know why I didn't think of this
I hate the q50 bumper issues I have this on my driver side as well then other day my turn signal where place a screw threw broke so now I'm stuck figuring out to keep the turn signals from moving
Can I put W4 on a pen to keep a hole while pouring?
Effing brilliant! Wish I 'd seen your comment before I panicked, realizing I didn't mark where I needed to drill. It turned out great after all, but I hate that panic!
Can I do the same way, for a Nissan Altima?
A M A Z I N G
Where you locaaated?
Can I use it on a crack bumper?
Besides this method how else can I get it fix ? At a body shop?
The only issue I got is the plastic part which my bumper is supposed to be attached to has fallen off. There is no stable base I can really attach it back onto. Maybe I can glue the bumper onto the upper panel but I’m worried I will look weird with no gap in between. I can’t afford a whole new bumper so that’s my best option for the current moment.
Genius
Did you just drill into the dash with the provided hardware? I don’t want to mess anything up on my truck
I didn’t know they plastic adhesive exist than you for the educational video
Is there any audio on this?
Thank you tried zip ties n was tryna hid it and it just wasn’t looking right
👍
It's crazy how I'm looking for the samething for the same car 😂
Tell me about it I have my Sport bumper hanging off one side 🙄
anyone know something in uk that’s like this as I can’t find this product in uk
I ended up buying mine from the US and had it shipped, the closest thing to this in the UK is jb weld.. But I just bought this product and waited as atleast I saw the result of how to use from this video and didn't want to risk trying a different product which may yield different results.. Very useful video tho so respect
Not only was it a great tutorial it’s the same car I need to work on
good video but plastic weld hasn't dried yet and it's been 5 hours...
Use a heat gun
How long did it take ?
@@Wellroundedhustlers let it dry overnight and it didn't dry... must've not mixed it well so I just actually plastic WELDED it with this tool
Theres 2 types plastic bond one is faster from another
That's a concrete block right is straight and left is bent towards @ 7 o'clock aka huge dark block
Could I use JB Weld plastic binder for this as well ?
Yes JB weld is really good
Them damn q50 bumpers my knees are tired of fixing it
Breaks easy.
Just fucked up my Alfa Romeo bumper. Just bought the damn thing today. Cut too hard backing out of the driveway like a shit bag
Couple problems with this fix. One of which is not sanding the surface of the plastic. The other being that the paint on the surface hasn't been addressed. It won't hold long term.
Yes it will hold I did this to my car samme thing and I have years on it
Use ur tip of ur finger to smooth it out bro
recently got a car with this job done to it & let me just say, it’s awful. Zip ties would’ve been 100x better.
How’d you do it
At the end of the video I noticed that I have the same car but in white
That's back to normal in a gif
Why not just use a zip-tie? You pull away a bit of the wheel-well cover so you can get access to inside the quarter-panel, and you insert a zip-tie to where one of the bumper clips used to be. You then thread the length of zip-tie into the matching hole on the bumper, and then pull the rest of that zip-tie back to the hole of the zip-tie, and insert it into the tie, then pull to tighten the zip-tie and that loop of plastic then pulls up the bumper to the car's quarter-panel.
Make a video I’m too dumb 😝
@@alejandrogonz6081 felt
if the clip is broken whats the zip tie going to hold on to? lol
Exactly. You’d have to drill new holes and it wouldn’t line up properly giving your bumper cover a wonky eye.
This stuff is $4.00 at Menard's... if you have one nearby.
All you need is Flex Tape
Like fold it over the broken tab and drill a hole through it?
Does flex tape get rigid enough to support this ??
Oh god what happened ?
The volume was no high enough to hear this :(
Def not easy for average people hahaha
Better hope your mechanic never has to get in there !!!! Or replace fog lights
why?
Then simply remove the screw
@@adrianh9851 yes now remove the cement glue genius
Why do you have to do that? They just created a new hole for the screw. You can still unscrew it?
Good video on what not to do. Clips are $8-10 each and there is one on each side.
Link?
This is what I need the clips? What kind of clips to get @claire
You are not very bright😂 explain to me how you’re gonna remove the old clip and reattach the new one when it’s all one piece
Ummmm... Yeah, those tabs are part of the bumper mold. You can't just "replace" one.
Big amateur
This is why kids should put their phones and xbox controllers away, get out to the real world, and get creative fixing shit for a minute. Unnecessary rant, maybe, but it's true.
No your right technology is getting people to be lazt
Very real post ;)
What if the bumper needs to be taken off
You just take the screw out and it comes off?
What did you say???
