    I know some watchers may only want to see you trading but I seriously enjoy all the videos you put out...you always keep it real and it makes it easy for me to relate. I have been going back and forth between paper trading and real trading 1-3 contract on the MES. I am learning more and more every day as I pay some tuition. Lately I have found that multitasking between work and trading does not make for a good outcome. I need to sit, analyze and be patient. In the end, I am putting in my time learning this way of trading in hopes that my time may open up in the future(haha). I am so glad that Iman Trading recommended your channel. Also, I hope you are able to find some nice new shower curtains

      Hey Mojo! Thanks for your comment and your feedback, really glad to hear that. I’m having so much fun with this.
      I talk about the day job/trading balance in my upcoming q&a video. Not trading today as we are digging out from a big storm, but poking away at a q&a video as I go.

    I think you are making the right decision on selling. The real estate market is in such a bubble right now. I feel prices can only come down a lot down the road. Also it's a seller's market so it's really easy to sell without having to go through all the repairs and dressing one would normally do. Hope you make some videos about the work you are gonna be doing there so we can follow you on the journey!

      Thanks Silverholic, I am going to do that thanks to your comment and some others. Will be doing as little as possible to it too lol. It’s not perfect but doesn’t have to be in this market.

    Another home run video today. I understand about rentals. I put my money in a commercial building and collect rent. It can be a real headache at times.
    I got chewed up and spit out in the market today. I've not yet seen it so volatile. 3,4,5,6,or 7 point stops and I still got punched in the face. Crazy. Glad I ended up fighting back for only a $100 loss. Had to do some stupid fast scalping of small chunks at a time to make anything today. I'll consider that a win. I hope days like this don't come often. Thanks again Matt, I look forward to all your videos.

      Hey Tim! Thanks as always for your comments. I wasn’t trading that day but looked back and yes it was wild. I think Powell was speaking that morning too which can explain some of the large and seemingly random moves. Not a bad idea to stay out when someone from the fed is talking. The economic calendar on forex factory dot com is a good thing to check every morning if you don’t already.
      WELL DONE crawling back to a small loss though!

    I hope it goes smoothly and you get a quick sale! I still have very fond memories of my first home, miss that little place like crazy. But moving forward is good too! Love the short updates like this. Seeing the lifestyle that trading has provided for you is the number one driver for me to learn this stuff properly, as you do! Thanks as always for sharing.

    My first comment on your channel. I watched most of your videos by now. Great content! Thanks for sharing your story. When watching someone trade well it's easy to think that they are special, had easy lives and are generally lucky. The backstory puts that all in perspective. I am promising myself I will focus on trading but I always find an excuse and double down on my well paid but frustrating job. I guess I need to start over too. You are giving me some food for thought here.

    Thank you for the insight in thought process and decision making, very informative and nice to watch. =)
    Trading can really do wonders if one keeps hacking away at the big stump so to speak. Never give up, we can all make it. Love the positive but also pragmatic view of things I noticed in your videos. Coming out with something positive after a bad experience is really where it's at! Doubling an investment in 5 years + rent certainly isn't one though, hats off! :D

    Are you in Timmins, Matt? Great job on the house, what a crazy market it is, eh! I was looking at rural houses in Oregon and I couldn't believe how expensive they were. $400-$500k and just ten years ago you could have bought a handful at that price. My parents bought a house in 1972 for $20k and it is now worth $2 million. That's in North Vancouver which is right next door to the exorbitant house prices you find in the British Properties in West Vancouver. 5 years ain't that bad to turn things around - I need to keep reminding myself that it's a long journey to get where I want this trading career to take me. Am curious how long have you been out of the workforce and doing the day trading full time?

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Michael, thanks for your comment!
      I spent a night in Timmins once (that’s a story in itself lol) but live in a small town near Ottawa.
      It is absolutely wild what homes are going for here. As much as homes in Ottawa sold for just a couple years ago. There are almost none for sale, and they routinely sell immediately above asking with multiple bids. That is unheard of around here, it was common to count on 6 months to sell anything. The house we live in now was on the market over a year when we bought it. I don’t know how long it will last but the timing on this rental seems to have worked out well.

    Selling is surly a wise decision at this time. Everything points at markets coming down. All the markets.. Interesting story. Im myself in that position right now. Recently divorced. In a country thats not mine, Closing to fifty and in real need of changing career as my body wont take the beating of heavy manual labour at this age. This is why iv been looking into trading the last year or so. And i found that your channel gives the most valuable info out there. I can understand its way to much to ask for but if you think of putting down your thoughts on how it works to paper it would probably be worth some. I can understand it can be difficult as much seems to com from "feel"... Anyway. Really appreciating your content Matt!

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey M!
      Thanks for your comments. I keep feeling like the bottom is going to fall out of this market and the housing market at any moment. It should really, but so far so good. I’ll be glad when it’s sold, keep the cash on the sidelines and wait for the market to fall again to redeploy it.
      I’m in the process of putting pen to paper and will keep you updated. A lot of discretional trading is feel, but you can learn to be sensitive to what feels right and otherwise.
      Digging out of a snowstorm currently so no trading today but working on a video anyway.
      Have a great day!
