Have always read . My mind is much clearer than before. Honestly. Not watching TV made the biggest difference.
Well, I think few of them didn't look like 20 considering in those days clever parents used to reduce their children's age for jobs. Nevertheless they had a lot of sense in what they are talking unlike the same age group today

I was born on the 15th of August 1999 and turned 20 today. I don't think there's a better apt time for me to watch this! These people were exactly my age when they were interviewed and we share the same date of birth. Can't relate better!
In 1967, my grandfather was working as a labourer on Dams, Railway stations and Coal mines and he was building India. In 2021, I am a student of IIM Ahmedabad. Yes, India has progressed. I am proud of being an Indian and I love everything about my country.

maybe I am wrong but being able to speak such fluent English speacially in the 60s is a pretty privilige. I wonder if much of these students belonged to the handful of upper strata of Indian society of that era.
Surely they are the privileged class as most of India was poor. But again you see so much of the British accent prevailing at that time. It is safe to say that I prefer that accent to what we have currently. It is sad to see that most students still cannot speak basic English. With BJP in power this will get worst as Hindi will be preferred in the near future.

It is so amazing to see people back then when they were my age talk with so much maturity and sophistication. They talk and articulate their ideas so well and it is so interesting to see that the ideas being discussed then are still the ideas being discussed today, just in different scenarios. After watching this, I can't help but feel like our generation will end up disappointing them and their vision that they talked so passionately with hope glistening in their eyes. It was a great video that gave me a lot to think about.

While these accomplishments are great, they fall well short of what I had hoped he would achieve. He has so much conviction in his beliefs and articulated them so well. I wonder what happened.

I am not sure what influenced the next 50 years. Though, we have developed as a nation, we lost the innocence. Socially, I hope we can bring that innocence again.

We are now two types of youth some are distracted social media addict other one like me struggling to clear NEET ,JEE etc 😢 .I was good student in school then somehow I loose track distracted in lock down period that's why I am taking drops for NEET now 😭😭😭😭. The clarity of thought and confidence in their voice of those youngsters is absolutely amazing! And the reason I believe is.. then education was exclusive and people took it very very seriously. Nowadays it's cheap and widely available which is a very good thing, but people take it for granted. A larger portion of the population has become ignorant, arrogant, conservative and lazy. All they do is get into a rat race and become an unskilled labour and then boast about their education which is not useful at all.

Why should we leave politics out. Yes we are where we are inspite of politics. Politics should be the target for most of 3rd generation educated hopefully well-off middle class people( others too with strategies to improve our lives).

My grandfather was 105 when he died in 2015. Throughout his life, he was known for his charity and his people centric attitude. He was a sarpanch. I graduated from IIIT BH in 2021 and I think we have really come very far. Is it even more distant than we thought we’d? Yes. Is it enough and shall we be complacent? We have progressed a lot from 16 percent literacy literacy in 1951 to 74 percent literacy in 2019. Our people are holding High posts in MNC's. Our Space Agency is making milestones in meagre budget. From 16% to 74% isn't that much I think.. Because other countries for example in South East asia Vietnam, Philippines they have now 90%+ literacy rate and Vietnam was worst Country even in 1970...

I'm 20 and I realised that there are several ways to contribute for your country. What it all requires is your imagination and subsequent determination to achieve it. He prepared for IAS exam but couldn't qualify and he was good in studies but not rich at all...he was jobless for many years of his life ..he tried to open a small shop,but license raj officer asked lots of bribe for it...he lived poor life, he had a daughter, whom he married some how in his caste, but she was burned to death bcs of dowry issue,,it was mistake of father for marrying her to govt officer...he had a grandson from daughter, who was killed by villagers bcs of love marriage honour killing...somehow the grandson had son from his affair and the girl and child survived...the guy in the vedio died after that...and the child grew up and was good in studies, and he prepared for many competitive exams and could not clear any of the exams and bcs of taunts of neighbors and friends he committed suicide...

Surely they are the privileged class as most of India was poor. But again you see so much of the British accent prevailing at that time. It is safe to say that I prefer that accent to what we have currently. It is sad to see that most students still cannot speak basic English. With BJP in power this will get worst as Hindi will be preferred in the near future.

It's been 2 years since I watched this video, and every time I see it, it gives me a much different type of motivation, making me eager to serve my nation with the same enthusiasm as those lads had at their prime time.
A young girl replies to the question: What have you done for India? The answer: What more can I do for the country? I do enough by being a honest citizen; by doing my job to the best of my ability; by working 8 hours a day and by not complaining about not having enough ration or sugar. After watching this, I can't help but feel like our generation will end up disappointing them and their vision that they talked so passionately with hope glistening in their eyes. Of course he would be alive. Pretty sure he must be in the US. I do not think they had a future in India. My aunt was born in 1947 and is still going great. Just completed her 50th wedding anniversary last week.

He is TN Subramanian. He earned his Phd and became an Associate professor in Math at Oakland university. He then went on to be the Chief Architect at RouteOne, a car insurance selling platform.
While these accomplishments are great, they fall well short of what I had hoped he would achieve. He has so much conviction in his beliefs and articulated them so well. I wonder what happened.

This is gold and brought tears to my eye. Every individual had such a strong command on their language and speech. I can keep listening this in a loop. I am not sure what influenced the next 50 years. Though, we have developed as a nation, we lost the innocence. Socially, I hope we can bring that innocence again.

I was born in 2003 , turned 20 😢. This video made me emotional. We are now two types of youth some are distracted social media addict other one like me struggling to clear NEET ,JEE etc 😢 .I was good student in school then somehow I loose track distracted in lock down period that's why I am taking drops for NEET now 😭😭😭😭. I am trying hard now in drop yr for neet 2024 . We are lack this type of clarity and confidence. It's a eye opener for me .

The clarity of thought and confidence in their voice of those youngsters is absolutely amazing! And the reason I believe is.. then education was exclusive and people took it very very seriously. Nowadays it's cheap and widely available which is a very good thing, but people take it for granted. A larger portion of the population has become ignorant, arrogant, conservative and lazy. All they do is get into a rat race and become an unskilled labour and then boast about their education which is not useful at all.

The guy with the spectacles in his hand would have made a great politician. Great at speaking. You should have stated their names and the cities they belonged to ,if that information was recorded. Which it should have been. But a wonderful, unique video. The person in the Films division who thought of making it must have been a visionary man. The level of understanding and intellect these young men and women had shown in their 20s back in 1967 is beyond the reach of the most mature men and women of today.
You can't compare whole generation through just small bunch of people(best bunch of people to add on it) as most those were from iit Bombay, 20 of 2021 are still doing wonderful things, every other day new startups are getting launched, many of them get unicorn status every year

My grandfather was 105 when he died in 2015. Throughout his life, he was known for his charity and his people centric attitude. He was a sarpanch. I graduated from IIIT BH in 2021 and I think we have really come very far. Is it even more distant than we thought we’d? Yes. Is it enough and shall we be complacent? Definitely No. India and Indians have a long way to go and we need to keep marching forward with a pace unbeknownst to Mankind because it’s high time that the world knows our true capabilities and how Indians look when they get serious about anything.
