A lot of the strap "clips, connectors, d-hooks" look very similar to ones that I have used in the past. If they work the same they may have a tendency to loosen and sag over a ride. I've made it a habit to put a knot in the strap below the clip to hold its place.
I’ve met Kevin in the video from Westwind Moto a few times and have this system on my bike. It is high-quality, installs really well, and I expect it will last for a very long time. I am particularly pleased with their attention to detail and how it’s built. Great customer service, and a great product.
Hi I’m Mike in the video. Not sure who Kevin is. Thanks for watching.
Sorry, Mike, I was referring to the guy in the Westwind Moto video in the TV you were watching. He’s from Toronto Canada.
Hi Mike, regarding the "exhaust heat protection": shouldn't this be more on the top of the exhaust? As an extension (towards the end of the exhaust) of the existing "heat protection shield"? Or ist it just a merchandising gimmick?
@@clemenswyss8 I think if you mount the bags on a rear rack, that’s when it will come to Play. It wasn’t close to touching with the bag sitting on the rear seat and then disposition it where it’s in between the bag.
How sturdy does the subframe of the Kove looks like¿ Like, in KTM 500s and so, you need to buy external steel frames to put attach the bags to.... Otherwise you seriously risk breaking the subframe
I think the beaver tale might be a better idea than the bungee cord, as UV light over time might hurt the cord, as we usually are driving in deserts for prolonged periods of time, and these bags will experience some extreme UV conditions
The design looks great tho, snug fitting
Great question on the subframe. I don’t have the answer but we will see Maybe I’ll check with the US distributor and see
Hi Mike,
three months gone. How happy are you with the panniers? PROs/CONs or maybe a follow-up video??
Thx in advance
Clemens
I really like the bags. I rode with them for a couple of days in Moab and they held up really well and they’re easy enough to pack and use. I do miss the beaver tail function on top that the tusk bags have. I found that they were mounted too far forward for my liking on Kove I think if you’re going to use them, you will need to add a rear rack.
> I found that they were mounted too far forward for my liking
could this be due to you being rather tall (how tall are you Mike?)?
@@clemenswyss8 yes I’m 6’3 Tall.
🤣
What are you Kove owners going to do now that the founder and life blood of Kove left the company? And Mason Klien is now with Honda.
Ha ha. Just keep getting better. It’s not a one man company. He’s still a shareholder.
The good old American affraid of everything foreighn again😂😂😂😂.
Spending hours each day, searching for kove topics and trolling around.
Unbeliveable!
@MERMBRAMA Seems like you are following me. What's up with that? This American owns 6 motorcycles not made in the USA or China. You have no clue with your comment. A Kove owner is like a Democrat, clueless. And they both love to use childish emojis. I buy and use many things foreign, just not from CCiinnaa! However, I am curious to see how much better the XPro Templar 250 is than the Kove 🤡 bike. The CFMoto MT/Ibex 450 really looks nice with name brand components and a proven engine. I know it's heavier than the Kove, but it makes much more since than the 🤡 bike, and it's $3k usd less than the greatest 🤡 bike ever. To be honest, I most likely will contradict my beliefs and add the Ibex 450 to my garage. At least CF Moto has two dealers within 20 min of my house, and they don't have any corporate turmoil. But you have fun running your 🤡 bike at 9000rpms to make it go anywhere.
