    These are so adorable Jennifer! Thank you for sharing😁. I’m excited…I received my glue from Amazon, the one you highly recommend. This glue is going to make it so much easier when working with card stock. And I must say…the Christmas ornaments (balls) you recommended for the candy domes are nicer than the ones I got from Michael’s too. Thank you for sharing your gift with us! You are truly appreciated! 🥰

    What do you do when your layered project is too thick to use the insert but not thick enough to put the back on tight? Do you put some kind of material in between?

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use layers of card stock.

      Yes! You can make it without the foam dots.

    • @JenniferMaker

      I uploaded the file from my library to Design Space. jennifermaker.com/the-joy-of-svgs-training-series

  • @JENLMC56
    @JENLMC56 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love this project. I do have a question - what do you do with the wood insert? Do you put it back in? I found if I leave it out, there is too much room in the back and the picture can move around (back and forth) because it is not secured.

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it doesn't fit you could cut out some cardboard from a box to put in the back of the frame.

    Soon-to-be-Mrs. Maker: can you help me figure out how to get something you have framed in lines into shapes? You can't do anything with lines other than attach them. I had a custom frame that I couldn't make easily by assembling the normal shapes. But once I got it framed it with lines, I couldn't do anything with it. Any tips?

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not understanding the question fully. Are you referring to scoring lines?

    • @MousesHouses
      @MousesHouses 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JenniferMaker No, the lines under "Shapes". You can't combine them with anything, only group them. So, if you use them to outline a special shape you...have an outline for a special shape. Whereas if you were to use literally any other shape you could weld, unite, etc. and slice to get what you're looking for.
      You CAN switch what kind of line it is going to be--from Guide line to basic cut--and also change the color but you otherwise can't change any other character of them.
      I was kind of hoping to use them as a crude workaround to the lack of polygon tool but I wasn't able to. I probably should have checked several hours into the measuring process before moving forward--I'll take responsibility for that haha. And without going into too many details, I do not have access to a scanner so tracing, scanning, exporting, and nudging in GIMP isn't a possibility.
      Is there anything in Design Space that I'm just glaringly missing that will help me save this project? Because I've been doing special slices most of the day for a lot of 1/16 measurements (since I posted the comment) and I don't think I have the mental or physical fortitude to move forward. Especially with two birds sabotaging my use of the keyboard every 1 to 7 minutes, which may or may not result in unexpected deletions or changes 😂 😭

    So sorry to bother you but I have a question can you or anyone else help us please? My friend has been letting me use her cricut machine that someone gave her every now and then but I've been using her phone to use it because she don't have a laptop or tablet so I'm wondering what kind of laptop or tablet she would need for her cricut machine? She don't want to spend a whole lot of money on a new laptop or tablet because she is a single mom of 5 and she has no help financially with the kids and would rather spend her extra money on her kids, do you have any suggestions on what kind of laptop or tablet she needs to be able to use her cricut machine? I'm trying to figure this out for her and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks so much

      It's not the brand as much as the configuration. Design space currently requires windows 10 or later, cpu: Intel dual-core core or equivalent AMD processor, 4gb ram, at least 2gb free disk space, an available USB port or Bluetooth and display: minimum 1024x768px screen resolution. Try to exceed these requirements, especially memory or Access won't run right. Do NOT get anything that says "chromebook". They are inexpensive, but cricut says Access won't run on them.
      I took my requirements to best buy last year and got an Asus vivobook 17 that was on sale and met the requirements for under $300 ( but there were other asus vivobook 17s for over $1000, so you have to really look at what they have. )
      A great budget option is to go with a reconditioned computer. This just means it was returned and a tech worked on it to make sure it works perfectly. I've had reconditioned computers and they work fine. Best buy might have some if you ask. Or go to amazon and search for "reconditioned computers". I just did and saw an hp quadcore with windows 10 and 4gb ram, 128gb memory for $229.00. The reconditioned ones are usually 1 of a kind so you just have to look.
      What you DON'T need is a "gamer" computer. They are like the sports cars of computers because they are optimized for video games. So expensive and not necessary for your friend's needs. You should be OK to get one under $300 if you look around. Hope this helps.
