SDF lost the Olympus Mons to the Earth Federation and proceeded to lose multiple ships. Embarassing!
though at the point when they were lost those ships were probably more trouble than what it was worth, just imagine how hard that thing will drain your supplies if you are trying to run away or start a guerrilla campaign

To each their own opinion, but I enjoy legend's perspective for fleet management and such. This video is a good reason why: legends spares no detail whereas, like Eck explained, most of what we know about the canon imperial and republic fleet composition is just a few mentions and no concrete statistics. Legends gave us a better picture in that regard

@@podemosurss8316 True, legends has had more time to establish itself, but 8 years is more than enough to give us a better idea of the going-ons in the galaxy. Novels like Aftermath had a chance to give us more details and a better idea of post-ROTJ. I could go on a long rant about all my issues I have with the new canon and its novels, but long story short, I feel this new canon is half-assed to put it mildly.
Canons post Endor timeline is pretty janky. “We won in a year, but yolo on how we did it” “don’t ask any questions”
@@podemosurss8316 But Canon media has existed long enough to provide those details. Consider comparing Legends material published between 1991 and 2000 and Canon material published between 2012 and 2020.

@@CDA1989 They actually did have auxiliary bridges, problem was that Executor fight too close to Death Star, so when bridge was destroyed it fall on it before they switch control.

How do pirates take a ship that takes around half a million to crew it?
I guess it depends how many pirates there are?
The question that gets me is how they crew the ship maybe a prison Connolly was freed by the pirates
That or they are using A LOT droids to make up the numbers
I can think of a few ways... however... almost all of them require the ship to be in port (defenceless). If the ship isn't in port.. the Pirates would also need to fight their way through the escorting vessels.. and at the point... might as well call them an indepedent nation (for the amount of fire power they require to capture it in combat).
Still we’re talking a moderate sized army of crew and troops, defending over 19 kilometers of narrow hallways that they probably know like the back of there hands, and probably a trained and drilled to set up one hell of a defense that would probably take tanks to deal with efficiently.
@@baz5042 And yet the New Republic was able to capture them no problem even with they're limited number of soldiers (along with they're Spec Ops units). The thing is LITERALLY a flying city, just how are you planning to hijack that?
They can always use droids as well. There would presumably be many droids left on the ship which carry out vital funtions from maintenance of the ship to operating defence weaponary

In one of the later Legends series, when the New Republic is seeking the Empires help it is mentioned that they fly a fleet of SSD’s past the NR contingent
You forgot the Knight/Jedi Hammer, a black Super-Stardestroyer with stealth armor used by Natasi Daala
That SSD was never captured by the New Republic, being destroyed at Yavin in its only known battle to eliminate Luke's New Jedi Order on Yavin 4.
On the note of Super Star Destroyers, it’d be cool to see the Vengeance-class brought to life by Disney at some point, it looked like they took a lot of inspiration from it in the concept art for The Rise of Skywalker, but of course, that didn’t go as they had planned...

The Vengeance SSD is my favorite version of the SSDs. Jerec's Vengeance just looks so damn cool. Even if it isn't as large as the other ships in her weight class, they just look cooler than the Executor-class ones.

It’s a little known fact that the Rebel Alliance’s anthem was “Boyz N the Hood”
The Guardian is actually a West End Games creation, and the number set at eight “Super (Executor) Class Star Destroyers” comes from West End Games as well. Though it specifically states that was the number Alliance Intelligence was aware of at the time of Return of the Jedi, leaving room for authors and game masters to expand upon later.
Can you do a breakdown of the first order/resistance chase with the Supremacy in The Last Jedi and try to see if there were any flaws on both sides (particulary the first order) and how those flaws could've been fixed please am fan

Its still really lame that they made Palpatine's SSD a regular Executor class and not the Eclipse class.
i requested the eclipse, but at the time most of are resources were being used on the second death star

Which makes you wonder why the Empire would bother building a Death Star, let alone 2, when they could have stuck with Star Killer Base? I wonder how effective these were under the barebone New Republic crews that had like way less hands on deck than imperials but must have been strong for them nevertheless.

The new republic should have started producing new/updated Venators and become a lot more like the Republics forces.
There is a third Imperial Remnant Super Star Destroyer. It's seen in the books above Bastion or Yaga Minor during the Vong War. It goes unnamed, but it's clear that it's meant to be an Executor as it used the length of one as a descriptor.

If you think about it, SDs are like real life submarines. The air on those things must get so stale so quickly. Could only imagine the smell of a few hundred to a thousand troopers would make on an enclosed vessel for months at a time.
To put he executor being destroyed into perspective, it was basically the size equivalent of a kid with a wing suit crashing into the con tower of the world's largest supercarrier, except the supercarrier still needs to be much bigger. Just think about that.

After all they would have had to fly around and under the shield protecting echo base. Or do you think they just can't function in the cold. Ah, the super star destroyer... an almost perfect ship- aside from the exposed bridge with glass windows that can be broken by a single kamikaze strike.
If the Empire ever figured out the concept of internal bridges, they would be in business. XD
Well practically all the ships in Star Wars have exposed bridges, look at the Venator, Providence-class dreadnought, ect. Plus "down on Earth", majority of the ships, aircraft carriers have exposed bridges aswell, so I guess it's just part of never ending human nature for "aesthetics", even in a Galaxy Far far Away :D
@@Attilakiralyart It makes sense on contemporary surface vessels, as they are useful for navigation in a 2D, gravity bound environment. They also aren’t really at any more risk than the rest of the ship, as most couldn’t take more than one hit anywhere on the hull anyway.
That being said, you are right about it being a nice aesthetic. Rule of cool is supreme, especially in a movie made to be fun!

Can you do a vid about why there are several pits on the bridges of SSDs and other imperial ships. Im guessing its so the crew focuses on there own station more but maybe canon has another reason

Idk if you have already but I've always wondered how they converted a planet into a base and if it was mobile or immobile and how did they manage to get a jump on the new republic capital system/base with out the new republic knowing of the first order base. Random question but is it me or are starfighters/snubfighters really weak in Thrawn's Revenge/Fall of the Republic. They seem to do practically no damage and never really play a big part in the battle. The battle is almost always decided by who has the bigger ships. Am I using starfighters wrong?
We should have gotten a fight between a captured Super star destroyed and the Mega star destroyed in episode 8.

Early nod? 2015 is more a late nod. First mention/appearance of the Dark Troopers is in the Dark Forces game which was released back in *googles* 1995. So 20 years earlier.

Well, Star Wars is divided to two universes, canon, and legends, also known as Expanded Universe. The Galactic civil war in canon ended 5 years after the battle of Yavin with the battle of Jakku, but in legends, it ended much later, about 12 years after the battle of Yavin. So when Disney released Sequel movies, they said that the Expanded Universe is not canon anymore, and thats why it is now called legends. So the battle of Orinda and the battle of Jakku took place in two different universes.

@@chrissonofpear1384 What I said what was listen on wookiepedia, over 300k people in total was a standard crew compliment, they are about 19 km long also. Even with a depleted compliment aboard pirates should never have even gotten close, and thats not even talking about sabotage, self destruct, automated defenses, control over internal systems and calling for aid. What is Disney saying random pirates casually had a couple hundred thousand guys to crew it and even more that would be needed to take it with a huge fucking fleet an all the arms and supplies necessary? Jesus Disney just filled in the pages halfassed without a care in the world, like some guy just wrote some bullshit down and moved on.
I think that was part of Legends, before the Disney buyout.
@@pepperedash4424 I was citing the legends statistics but the canon page has the same length listed but in meters not kilometers however it says these are Imperial standard meters, not sure if they are different than ours and are just their version of kilometers but I see no reason why they would change that, pure idiocy, but Disney has shown to have a lot of that.

What is the manpower of the SSDs? How in the world could anyone aside from a massive army invade and take over one?
Lusankya was understaffed when she was captured. She previously was used purely as a supermax security prison. Following the evacuation from Coruscant, she also had no support ships of note. The ship was crippled and surrendered to New Republic forces, who then spent years patching her back together in a repair and refit project to make her one of the New Republic flagships. Basically they didn't *have* to board and take her by force, she was defeated in battle externally and surrendered.

Technically speaking that *is* the correct pronunciation. I always thought it was more of the "execution" style instead of the "executive" style name, but it actually is Ex-sec-u-tor.

Also JJ Abrams Plans Finn to be Force Sensitive from the Very Start in The Force Awakens. Obi-wan hears scream of victims of Aldeeran and Finn Hears screams of the Victims of the New Republic. Both of Them *Feels Disturbance in the Force* Finn deserves better

Each one has an equal sized fleet with equally capable subordinates, and since Ender is from a different universe each has equal understanding of the technology they’re using. They are in command of Star Wars vessels. Pick a famous fleet of your choosing I’d suggest death squadron.
