I'm a beginner, This tutorial was the most satisfying and easy to follow on editing beat grids in Serato Dj Pro. I've noticed that you have a Macbook Pro. I have a 15 inch 2011 Macbook Pro with Yosemite. I would like to know how to set the software to see two songs playing at the same time like the tutorial. Thanks. Great Job.

I would like to know do you check the "Hi-Res Screen Display on your Macbook Pro? I'm not too sure if I should use it. Thanks.

Hi! The bpm of this song is 140bpm, I counted the beats and bars and set a red marker because the song was off, I used the adjust slider, I noticed that the 140bpm changed to 140.4. Shouldn't the bpm stayed the same while using the adjusting slide? I would like to know what am I'm doing wrong. Thanks .

Good tutorial mate. I've read the other comments and have the same problem. The bpm counter shifts to reflect the changes to the beat grid. I think the software only speeds up or slows down the track within the red set markers to match the grid? Am trying to beat grid an old r&b track and almost every beat is off as its a live drummer..the bpm counter is going up and down like crazy. Can I assume this is normal? Am also having problems getting the set markers to lie exactly where they're required, this is normal too? Any advice would be great

o00Justice00o exactly. The shift is between the red markers. On old tracks like that, I’d only beat grid the hook you want to blend on or an instrumental break. This is more so if you want to blend anthother song “thru” the original tracks tempo change

o00Justice00o so on your track I’d do it for the first 8 bars that you blend with at the beginning of the track you’re bringing in and then when you blend out on a hook or instrumental break

MY ONLY QUESTION TO YOU IS, HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO LOCK THE BPM WHEN ADJUSTING THE GRID. I NOTICED THAT ONLY THE TEMPLE RANGE IS ADJUSTING AND THE BPM IS LOCKED AT 85. WHEN I DO IT THE BPM ADJUSTS AND NOT THE RANGE??????

Juan Almonte if you set one point then set another and the previous doesn’t stick, start again, clear it all, set the first one, then within a bar of the second one, put another one as like a lock to the first one, then set the actual one. I hope that’s what you were talking about.

DJBeatOfficial Okay. I think I figured out why the BPM never moved. It’s because it was still in sync with the previous track you had. That’s why only the range adjusted. I wish you had done the video with sync turn off so that we can see what happens to the actual bpm when you are setting the red markers. I am going to assume that the bpm shifts up and down when making these adjustments. Anyways today I’ve noticed that sometimes when I tried to lay a red marker it wouldn’t land where I wanted. It would always move a bit from where I wanted and when I tried fixing it wouldn’t give me a whole number, it would always give .2 ,or (bpm.3) or even mess up the previous bars. I don’t know if you understand me. I tried to explain the best I can. Anyways. Thanks for the reply and hopefully beat gridding becomes more easy.
