Excellent mattress. Same great quality as in the local furniture store (NFM) but for thousands less!! And I wasn't forced to pay for their pad, box spring, and more to get a warranty through Costco like the store wanted. I saved over $2,000 for virtually the same great mattress!!

I recently purchased this mattress in king size after sleeping on my old mattress for 13 years. I have to say, I love this mattress. I got a great deal for $1,100 and it’s amazingly sturdy. I enjoy going to sleep every night and wake up refreshed because of this mattress. I’m sold. I am not a fan of these boxed/unroll mattress as they don’t seem to have the sturdiness needed to hold me.

Has it sunk on you? I read reviews that say it gives out after time.
I heard it craps (sag) out after 3 years but honestly for the price, it's 3rd cheaper vs say the SF Lux estate Cassett (last around 7 to 8 years), I think it's ok. They do use cheaper materials overall vs direct originals of the same line. It is a bit firm fir side sleeper imo. Wish they make it in more plush.

After several hours spent on comparing specs of this mattress reported on Costco's web site and seen in this video (Luxury Cushion Firm Euro Pillowtop, 1744 IntelliCoil HD springs, Indulge Memory foam, 2 vents on each long side, 14.5 inches high) I concluded that (a) spec-wise, it does not match exactly any of Stearns and Foster models, (b) two vents on each of the long sides clearly indicates that this mattress is based on low end Estate collection (which includes Hursten and Rockwell), and (c) it is clearly a customized model which in the sense that it, foremost of all, has upgraded coils from 1504 IntelliCoils (used in Estate) to more densely packed 1744 IntelliCoil HD typical for the Lux Estate models, but it uses a lower end type of Indulge foam (not Indulge HD), although it is a step up from gel foam which appears to be used in Hursten. Hence, it is in a way positioned half way between the low end Estate and middle level Lux Estate categories and is truly a custom design for Costco. The firmness of Luxury Cushion Firm mattress is rated by S&F as 5 to 6 on the scale of 1 to 10. Cushion Firm is softer than Firm, but firmer than soft. It is in the middle between soft nor firm. I tried Rockwell and Hurston in the store, and it is indeed like firm but a little softer and sinkier, probably closer to firm than to soft. The statements that it is Hursten or Cassatt found in the comments do not pass the specs check. It is not a $3k to $3.5k bed as the review suggests, but surely a $2k (street price) bed.

I ended up buying this mattress at Costco in Sept 2022 when it was on sale for $849 (with delivery, set-up, and haul away included in the price). Foremost of all, I expected it to be softer. By overall feel, compared to other firm mattress which we bought a few months ago, and compared to various firm mattresses which I tried at a mattress store, I would call it firm. In my opinion, it is not even medium firm. It is just firm. The value for the price paid is excellent, these days at most retail stores this kind of money would buy you a very entry level mattress, way worse than this one.

I also noticed that the sale is over by now, so it must have ended some time between Sept 14 and Sept 19 - I have no idea when, the dates of sale were not clearly indicated on the web site. I also do not know when it started. I wanted to get it in August and they were out of stock in queen sizes, then I checked again a month later and could not resist the temptation of $849.99 after $200 off. Costco delivery was surprisingly good. They were on time and very quick and efficient in getting the new mattress to the second floor and removing the old mattress. It is much more firm than I expected, I do not understand how and why they rank it at 5 on the scale from 1 to 10, or call it "medium firm". My impression after sleeping on it for several nights is that It is a little firmer than most "firm" mattresses in showrooms. I cannot judge how impression from a mattress depends on a sleeper's weight; I am a tall guy with wide bones and weigh around 240-245 Lbs, and it does not sink much at all under my weight. I was hoping that it would be just a little softer. For reference, our other (recently purchased) mattress is Kingsdown Select Chardonnay 14.5" firm. This mattress is available at Mattress Firm showrooms. Well, this costco mattress is similar if not a tad firmer than Kingsdown and feels rather similar surface texture-wise.

Thank you so much for this review! It's great that you lay on it in different positions. Ackward to watch lol, but very informative. I would be interested in seeing a review after 1 year. I really want to buy this mattress, but I have read some bad reviews saying that after it breaks in, it tends to sink in more, and many even reported permanent divets. But if you have ever tried to leave a Costco review, you will know that you really have to love or hate a product to leave a review there. They really make you go through hoops to leave a review, like manually entering your order #. So the bad reviews may be from getting lemons or due to improper foundations, weight, etc. I'm a stomach sleeper, so if it starts sinking in after it breaks in, my back is going to feel like someone did a backbreaker wrestling move on me. Brand new, it looks like the perfect amount of give though.
its very firm, but it hasn't been causing uncomfortable pressure points. i think its a good balance between firm and soft. my previous casper origional bed was giving me pressure points and the foam sinks in alot more than this new bed. I think think they know what they are doing in building this bed. It feels feels like a 5 star hotel bed, firm yet not uncomfortable. its nice so far.
Best review! We purchased our king memory foam mattress 13 years ago. The memory foam sinks & sleeps hot after awhile. We’re looking for a hybrid and thinking about a Saatva, but might give this one a try. Thanks!

I bought this in King Size a week ago, a bit firm but it is a great buy for this product.
It has to acclimate. Also the tempurpedic material and memory foam does get harder in the winter months and softer in the warmer months. It is also brand new and needs to be broken in. Thanks for watching.

Did you notice that it sinks at all where you sleep? I noticed that the middle of the mattress tends to be firmer since one sleeps in the middle. The sides (left & right) are starting to take the shape of the sleepers so I am noticing a bit of a difference between the side and the middle but not much

My total was around $1300, including box spring and taxes. Definitely an awesome deal. Bought it when it was on sale.

Hey RR, this vid was so KEY for me. I was on the fence about ordering this bed. Seeing your vid, which showed me the bed, confirmed that it's very close/mostly the same, to the "Stearns and Foster Estate Rockwell 15" Luxury Firm Euro Top" version I sampled in a showroom, (only major difference I discern is Lakeside is 14.5" and Rockwell is 15"; Rock is blue, Lake is black and it just looks exactly like the bed I saw in the showroom; not concerned about other minor feature differences at the Costco price point, lol; the 5 layers of construction design appear to be identical).
Your vid was the difference, that made a difference in my ordering it, yesterday, 06/29/2022. THANK YOU. This is the only, annotated, review vid on TH-cam for this Costco version of the mattress.

I would say a better chance of the lo and mid. Since the profile is smaller on it. It probably would fit but would be very tight. But a high would fit in the down since the profile is larger.

I've noticed that tightly fitted Sheets create more tension on the surface of the mattress. I find it very comfortable when i use fitted sheets that are one size larger. I usually try to buy my sheets at costcos when they go down in price 50% (usually it happens when they want sell another product in the space.....) I've gotten a Genuine Sheep Skin Rug for $30! , they normally sell for $100
thanks for review; helpful; u describe top as euro, soft; do u know if the stearns and foster cassatt euro top is the same feel of softness? i was able to try the cassatt and liked it but cannot try the lakeridge.. if the softness is the same , i want to buy the lake ridge given the rest of your review..
Costco quality is exceptional and stearns made an amazing bed for them. I have not tried Cassatt but from doing research it’s a .5” thicker which makes it hug you slightly more. I would say it’s slightly softer but for 1500 more it’s a choice you will have to make. If your spending that much already I would get a tempurpedic hybrid. Way better.
What frame did you use?
Just bought it. I hope it doesn't sag like many pillow tops. My last high-end Serta did this after 2 years and hated it.
Still holding up great with the memory foam top sagging will not occur. It is actually high density tempur material which conforms and retains shape. Enjoy the mattress. Great purchase.

Ordered one and bizarrely they sent me the old and discontinued Hope Bay mattress instead? Had a distribution tag saying Lakeridge on it but the actual bed tag said Hope Bay so I'm totally baffled. Not sure if they've gone back to the Hope Bay design or what.

I would use a foundation, I think box springs are only for innerspring and these are closer to hybrids

Hello. How is the temperature or breathability of this mattress? Memory foam sleeps hot for me on most new mattresses.
It’s better than a full memory foam mattress I must say. It’s hybrid so it has hundreds of mini wrapped coils which allows more air pockets under the foam. This allows better circulation.
hi appreciate your reply to prior comment on softness of euro top for lakeridge.. you said soft, description says firm, readers have said both soft and firm as well... how soft the euro top is will determine whether i purchase it.
After sleeping on it for a little bit it’s a medium aspect but on the firmer side.

We had to replace an amazing but 17 year old Stearns and Foster "Chesterbury" they don't even make anything close to it anymore, it was a flippable pilow top and lasted well beyond what they do nowadays. I ended up ordering the Kirkland Stearns and Foster Lakeridge, waited 6 weeks as it was out of stock. When it came 12 days ago I was so disappointed I really wanted to love it, it's so uncomfortable the tufted euro top is lumpy/bumpy and actually hurts, bearing in mind I weigh 104lbs. Its also a very hard mattress not a medium, I understand there is a break in period but it doesn't budge at all I feel like it's filled with hay so very solid!. My partner 160lbs can sleep anywhere and even he comments it's like sleeping on a Rock. I'm sad it hasn't worked out for us:(

Yes, I have to agree. This bed feels like a pillow top on a hay bale. Stearns and Foster are supposed to be top of the line surprisingly. I sent back two previous different models (Serta and Beautyrest) as they felt more like a yoga mat on a hay bale so I guess I have to be happy with the pillow top on a hay bale from Stearns; lol! What I have learned is that mattresses are not made like they were before. It is almost as if they make them to hurt as in hard hurt or soft hurt. There is no spring in the mattress almost like laying on dead weight. It is like a pile of yoga mats with a foam on top. If it wasn't for the fear of bed bugs I would hunt down an old mattress. New mattresses are truly awful. No way around it.
I ordered this bed and have been sleeping on it for 5 days. Your description of sleeping on a hay bale is exactly how it feels to me. I am so disappointed. I am going to give it a month but not sure it will get any better as I am a side sleeper. It is Firm Firm Firm with a strange little give where you lay. It is super heavy. My friend and I had to use little dolly’s to move it.
This is not at all like the Sterns and Foster bed I tried out at Mattress Firm. That bed was $1900 and I got this bed on sale for $850. Great price but not comfortable yet for me.

Do you know if there is a similar Stearns and Foster mattress sold by retail stores where I could actually see or try it? Looking online, I see the Eurotop S&F mattresses sold by retail mattress stores is classed as "soft". I really want a "medium", which Costco says this is. How would you class it?
Mattressfirm carrie’s a similar model called estate hurst. It’s a medium and feels great. Any mattress needs to be broken in as well.

Yes. Stearns and Foster website says slats must be at least 3 inches wide for their mattresses. No info about slat spacing.

Wood foundation is just fine.
Costco only sells Sealy's box spring to pair with this Mattress. Would that work with this mattress? It says the mattress is very heavy and that regular box springs won't hold it well. Any recommendations for box springs/ foundations? Thank you!

Is this the same as the Stearns and Foster Rockwell mattress?…but just rebranded as Kirkland? I have really bad back pain and I want to make sure they are the same because the Kirkland brand is SO much cheaper.
I can’t tell you for sure but I know Kirkland does that a lot for many brands. The bed is great thou. I have neck pains and lower back and it sleeps great.
@@Str8upstoopid The Cassat has the additional micro hd coils and Induldge HD foam, Costco doesn't have the additional micro coils and has "regular" Induldge foam. Not sure how much of a difference all that makes but the bed appears to definitely be a hybrid as it doesn't exactly match any of their mattresses I can find.

n general, a mattress should be up to 12 inches thick for use on an adjustable bed. Can You Use A Pillow Top Mattress On An Adjustable Bed? Most memory foam, latex, and hybrid mattresses that are non-innerspring will work with an adjustable bed - including those with a pillow top layer.
I really like using FItted sheets one size larger....i feel tightly fitted sheets creat too much tension on the surface of the bed.

Stearn & Foster was acquired by Sealy in 1993.
@@BCE-111 In 1944, a company called Matelas Suprême developed a mattress factory in St-Narcisse, a small municipality about 30 kilometers from Trois-Rivières. The facility was considered very large for its day, which supplied all of Quebec and the Maritime provinces. In 1979, the company was bought by four employees, with more than 50 years of combined experience in mattress manufacturing. Those four employees would start what we know now as Stearns & Foster.
In 1983, Sealy, once called the Ohio Mattress Company, acquired Stearns & Foster, and in 1985, the non-woven textile business was sold to Morley P. Thompson Sr., which became the Stearns Technical Textile Company. Stearns Technical Textile produced fabric used in products ranging from fabric softener sheets, insulation for automobiles, and disposable diaper liners.
In 1987, the company had grown to the point where it manufactured roughly 400 mattresses per day. That’s when Sealy executives decided to purchase the facility, and Sealy became the owner of the now renowned Sealy St-Narcisse factory.

Bought it at Costco. I buy basically everything and review it. It’s amazing. Quality is amazing and feels so different than typical strains and Foster. I mean feels better because of the hybrid aspect. So soft and supportive. Highly recommend.
If anyone has had this mattress for over a year and it's a fairly large or a beast person let me know how well it's held up for you.

This is made by Sealy, it says it right on the bag. I had the king delivered today and it feels cheaper than my Sealy posturpedic and my wife can't lift it to put the sheets on. This thing is ridiculously heavy. Pillow top is thin and the tag on the side says firm euro pillow top not medium. I don't know if I am keeping this brick, honestly, my wife needs my help to put a fitted sheet on it and tuck the top sheets in.

yeah, but the warranty is useless unless you use a sealy optimized model. Then again, costco will prob return it regardless.
This mattress or the Casper Select Hybrid from Costco? Casper is $916 and S&F $1132 after taxes for each.
Same except Casper select memory foam NOT hybrid only memory foam what did you get
