    I’ve watched so many balayage techniques this past couple weeks and I will say this is the best tutorial. Very clean and simple. I love that you used a paint brush! It looks like you painted it with ease and good control.
    Do you have any videos similar to this but with teasing and or weaving?

    This and your "Favorite Way to Balayage" are my favorite/the most helpful balayage tutorial!s🙌
    Everything is so seamlessly diffused and the color gorgeous. Your technique with the paint brush (Who'da thunk? It makes perfect sense!) and "mohawk" sectioning at the part as saved me so much time with better & more consistent results. You also introduced me to Funked Up Film and Kenra Clay Lightener which I love!
    Thanks so much for your videos and congrats on baby Arrow!💗💕

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kendra Lafferty yes, it's the same with highlighting short hair. You don't always have to color the nape area cause it's too short to put into a high pony tail so there not really any point unless they are solid blonde with natural dark roots!

    Hi Alexis, I have learned a ton with your videos, thank you for putting them out there. I was wondering, why is clay needed? can't you mix a really thick lightener consistency? just wondering and also, have you heard of malibu's kaolin clay? if so, what are your thoughts about it? again, thank you for teaching us starters or getting back into the hair game after a while. Xoxo!

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Saidymar Zuñiga clay works differently then powder lighteners that dry out and have a different texture. Clay is very necessary when wanting to do open air balayage or balayage like this 😉

    HI
    would you recommend first bleaching small strands parts of hair (for highlights)and after that apply the colour to dye the hair ?
    ‘cause I've seen it done it backwards.
    I have a similar hair structure and length as the one from your video , but I haven’t dyed my hair for about 2 months now and I have grown roots and I’m not sure if the technique you are using would apply for me too.
    I've previously dyed my hair brown , so I haven’t bleached my hair before ( except the oxidants from the hair colour).
    Btw , The result is amazing , congrats

    This is SO PRETTY! I have a question tho, why do you swish as opposed to shake your shades eq toner?

    • @LunaBeauty666
      @LunaBeauty666 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emily Pope I don't know why she does it but when I took a redken connections class the instructor said to never allow the shades eq to become frothy or foamy. Maybe that's why?

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Emily Pope it breaks apart the color, it's meant to be swirled or lightly shaken (really light). Keeps the color intact.

      +Miranda frost it so much volume, but any time you give hair dimension it makes it look thicker!

    I was always told to never use metal with hair lightened. The metal on that brush isn't a problem? Beautiful job by the way.

      christieyamm It's okay because the lightener itself doesn't touch the metal on the brush 😊

      +christieyamm exactly, it doesn't touch the lightener.

    Oooh this was helpful, thank you! What if they don't have a consistent part? (I'll part my hair on the left, middle, or right depending on how my hair is falling that day.) How does that change how you do that mohawk area?

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep the Mohawk area over the part line, but if you switch it up I would keep it centered to the head!
