All the reactions I have seen so far for the new Blade is absolutely epic, I don’t remember the last time reviewers had such a genuine passionate reaction like that for new 1000cc bike.
I have no intention of buying this beast, but after a review like this I feel like going to check my creditworthiness. superb riding and superbly done test, real journalistic work, and yet so relaxed, real skill. picture and sound quality in the professional class. Congratulations
Bloody Double Decker Al ! Thanks for the stiffy! Amazing riding , sound of it is awesome. Really like seeing a few other legendary riders/reviewers on a 44 video. Brings worlds together on the best channel ever . Be safe . Pawlak
Honda needs to go too a V4! They’ve been running back of the pack for far too long, Soichiro Honda would turn in his grave seeing the current state of Honda racing.
My tendency is to agree with you. This current bike is starting to look decent, as opposed to the last few generations of Fireblade. But my question is one that I think you’d agree with. If you look back at the RC30 from 1988, does this bike seem like where we should be, 35 years hence? Honda have simply lost their way in terms of having the top Superbike. Again, this bike may change that, but for the last 20 years or so (since the RC51 then?), my question applies. Since Honda are the biggest motor company in the world, I have to assume they simply didn’t care about Superbike over that time frame. Which, frankly, worked for them until they also completely lost their way in MotoGP, at which point I have to ask: what the heck are you doing, Honda?
@@paxtonfurney3316 Would you care to elaborate why that would be? Honda have a pretty deep library of engine technologies, including many great V4 type engines to choose from. I would be surprised if Ducati and Aprilia have subsequently developed a legal lock on all viable technologies. I’m only a normal enthusiast, having neither legal nor engineering credentials, but neither of those Italian brands builds engines that look particularly “Honda style”.
I think Al mentioned it at the top of the video. The market for sport bikes seems to be slowly withering. More and more people are going for the "crossovers" of the motorcycle world which are adv style upright touring bikes and naked bikes on the other side. If this is all true, it would not make sense for Honda to invest heavily in such a platform. Key word being "if".
The anticipation for this review gave me tingles in the pants region, the likes of which I've not experienced since my first proper snog with Sally Brimble behind the bikesheds in '88. The actual review left me nursing a rager, the likes of which is occasionally experienced for Christmas and Birthdays nowadays. Cracking job as always, Al; there's nothing better on the 'toob than your on-track commentary! Can't wait to see you guys put this up against the rest of the pack in the ever-shrinking Superbike stable.
I remember their Isle of Man Superbike test - which by the way made me bought the RSV 4 - when the Fireblade comes dead out of the container....great vid one of the best so far for this bike!
Sweet bike. A bike to aspire to (in my case). The 600 review coming up next I suppose. Great first review Al, I'd love for you to be able to take the bike for another ride on a hot summer day.
The whine and engine/induction noise is absolute heaven, and I'm sure the mic isn't doing it justice. I want one, just for that sound alone. I'm in love.
My impression from the video was that the bike was flickable and fast for the most part, but it seemed a little slow coming out of the corners. If you could get more midrange from an ECU flash or gearing change it would be a top contender.
Great review, I agree this Honda is still not on par with Ducati, Aprilia, or Yamaha as a racing package. This bike is a homologation special for racing and it doesn’t compete with other manufacturers like they should. They need a V4!
Honda put two carbs on the single cylinder XR500. The result was amazing throttle response off idle. Only one carb was used at low throttle settings. Remember, we want rapid air movement down low so it can be metered efficiently.
Sometimes I dont understand why having a bike with all the blows and whistles. Specially since I dont have the skill to perform them at any level. But is that quality ride that makes you feel awesome even if going slow. Nice review.
When do you reckon we will see major upgrades to the ZX10R/RR like what Honda have done, i feel like that bike has so much more to give in an update. Brilliant review al, change of boxers needed
If I didn't already have a garage full of Ducati parts and tools, I'd love a 'blade. Honda makes some pretty bikes. Kudo's to Honda bringing back a real 600 supersport as well.
186mph all while carrying the huge weight of those solid brass balls. What a champ, what a machine!

@Bassalicious that can't be flat out my 2008 zx10r does that ....I would of thought this blade hit 195mph

Last time was probably when pani v4 came out. That was pre-covid
"Who cares about lap time when it makes you feel like this" Got my heart bro!
I worked in a cheese factory, genius answer! always impressed how you carry the speeds, great stuff Al, great editing to.
this is the best review I have ever seen ... please more of this bike
Best review of the bike so far!
Lovely review mate. Yep, the sound of that blade gave me a Casey Stoner!
Yuge 🍆
Lol 😂😂😂😂 You crazy!😂😂😂
Almost felt the need to Rossi off one ? Or were your briefs as tight as brad in a binder?

The sound of that thing....OMFG!!!!! Great work Alistair, that was godlike. One of your best ever vlogs!!!!
Great vid & review. Bloody hell that looked quick but also on rails. Amazing machine.
Beautiful review ❤
All of the 44T presenters have their strengths but by far Al has the most natural riding talent... still a racer 🙂
yo what there's an mad and angry whistle coming from it, insane sounds

Looks like a riot that one! Loved the editing and music choice for this, got my heart pumping :D
Been watching this channel for a few years and it motivated me to race! Safe rides 44 !!
Setting it up to your weight this easy has got me. I want one!
Yeah he kind of did but that difference in weight would still need a different springrate.
Your reviews are the best!
You were on it Al, sounded and looked brilliant 😎 I love Tommy Bridewell, funny as fffffff !
Great review, felt breathless watching it. Great channel guys keep it up you bring a lot of pleasure to the masses.
Great review and thanks
great review some nice shots in there too, i want one but dont think the trade in from my 2004 will get me close enough to afford it
Awesome riding Al 😁👍🏻
Thank God for a real sportbike motorcycle review. This is what we want to see! Thanks mate!

It would take 100 million dollars to develop a v4 that they couldn’t be sued for by duc or aprilla, it’s not even worth it

Unfortunately, Honda doesn’t have any racing experience with V-fours, so they’re a bit caught out here.

RC213V-SP and CBR-1000-RRR SP need some quiet time together to make us an RVF-1000-RR ..

Cool story, tell us another one
it does come through on the sound...u also had that turn one mate, more bar pressure !
Will there also be a vid about the 600rr?
I reckon the left throttlebody is a bit more reinforced/altered since they will be used more when crusing vs the other at full blast.
What a glorious machine, looks fantastic sounds like a howling animal, I’ll never be able to afford one but doesn’t stop me enjoying it.

I’ve not been tempted by a new blade for quite a while, but that now looks the part and appears to go the part…. Time to book a test ride
Without the Haslam Race School to try on track, it's going to be difficult. Honda Racing Experience events required...
The RC51 was a V-twin monster. Idk why they abandoned that format
Because they’re stupid
Is that intake noise? Reminds me of the gear cam whine on the old V4
So al did these bikes have kit ecu’s since you were riding on non oe tyres? Cheers
