Brian, as an arborist, I want to let you know that the pine tree you have the water draining into..you should cut one side off at the crotch while it’s young. When that tree matures that will be a weak spot and potentially crack. If you cut out one side now, it will fill out with branches from the other side.
The good old twin tub washing machine. I used one of these for decades, they work really well. I now use a fully automatic machine, only because I was given it for free, but I still have my old twin tube 👍 I use phosphate free biodegradable detergents so I can use the washing machine water on plants. It's worth a look at the detergents you use so it doesn't build up any nasty chemicals in your soil.
She is so much fun here at our place, definitely a happy little girl with her new life here in rural America! She is such a little cuddle bug in the morning and night, love her spunky personality. :)
What will they think of next? Checkin back in after being away for awhile. So glad to see you've found a new friend, looks like a great companion. Right now I'm going through the same thing you had to endure with Sierra. My dog Seven was diagnosed with cancer a few months back and Doc said there is nothing they can do. So we wait, hardest thing I've ever had to do.
That’s super cool washer (*super toxic laundry soap) I just love your videos (your ideas), we’re super excited about getting out there too, soon. Peace be with you always
Pro tip wash t shirts and garments inside out to get the most clean. The side that's right against skin picks up the most sweat etc. And when you hang on line still inside out the sun can kill any remaining bacteria. Love that little machine. PS- 8:15 Meadow in the mud! 🤣💕👍 Ohh and new hat looks good too
Hi Brian and Meadow. Wow, i think that washing machine is pretty neat. And it will definitely save you some time. I hope you and Meadow have a great weekend coming up ❤❤
Have always wondered how well these things work. Thank you for the real time show of what it can do. I do post surgical work/rehab for people who cannot do it for their pets and the shelter. I am wearing my washing machine out keeping up with the laundry not to mention it is sometimes busy when i need it. Now i will feel better about getting one.
Reccomend you put the detergent in while the water fills during the first gallon. Get the detergent well dispersed before adding clothes. Read close the manufacturer description. You may not require as much soap as you think. Some of these soaps are very concentrated. You may bexm able to use a little less than recommended. Then add clothes while second/third gallon fills. Also, shake out the clothes before washing. Especially helps to reduce Meadow hair. Use some biodegrade soap. Maybe contact some biodegrade soap manufacturers, ask for samples to test with your off grid system. Are you collecting rain water from the roof? How many loads can you do in one day without using too much of the battery bank? Do you have more than one brand, capacty, of power bank to perform such a test? Would be an interesting challenge. Now you need a Meadow washer! HAHAHA!
Don't let the ladies see this Fancy setup on your Ranch! Can you imagine a Scottsdale lady with a 100 pairs of shoes moving in with you??!! Lol. Timmy C Arizona
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures I ain't wearing flip-flops; you will just have to deal with a pair of Birkenstocks. But I don't live in Scottsdale, either.
Tide isn't the best but I have a shipment arriving tomorrow and one of the items is Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day so I'll be good to go for future washes. Thanks for tuning in!
It brought back memories watching you use this twin tub to when my daughter's were babies..over here in Australia they were called Hoovermatic twin tub washer.
Glad you’re able to do more laundry at a time. That was a great buy, Brian. I wish we could get some rain over here. It’s going to be over 100 all next week. As high as 105, without the heat index. Hope you and Meadow have a great weekend. Hugs to Meadow❤.
Brian you are living all our dreams!! been wanting one of those washers myself, for my small aprt. i might as well get one it seems to get the job done well. I love your content cant wait until the next one.
My mum had a twin tub washer and when I was first married my mum-in-law gave me her old one because she got a new automatic. I used it until it conked out.
Yeah, I've done the bucket plunger too and was surprised at how well it worked. Always got my clothes super clean! Nice to have freshly laundered clothes all the time. :)
I use a laundry plunger, 2 five gal.buckets and a yellow industrial mopping bucket w/ squeeze lever on wheels. Lots of elbow grease and homemade laundry soap.
Brian have you thought about using a green detergent instead? I would just be concerned about the fragrance’s, surfactants, enzymes, and all the other chemicals in detergent building up over time in the soil.
I'm coming to the meet and greet I'm October...but what do you suggest of I have a big wash going through my 15 acres? Should I fill it in? It's on the edge of my property, not down the middle
Question. Should you be using Tide when you are draining the gray water on your land and plants. Should you be using a good earth friendly detergent. 😊
Yeah, Tide isnt the best but one wash won't hurt. I have a shipment coming tomorrow and one of the items is Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day so I'll be set going forward.
Good Afternoon, I actually have a shipment arriving tomorrow and one of the items is Mrs. Meyers Clean Day so I'll be all set. Tide certainly isn't the best but one wash isn't going to do much harm.
Seriously, just cruise over here to do laundry. This thing is awesome and the spin cycle will make it to where your clothes will be dry in 10 mins after hanging on the line. 🤘🤘

Awesome, thanks so much for this info!! I'll be sure to get that done. Appreciate the knowledge!
I bought one of those and was amazed how dry the spinner gets the clothes awesome for off grid.

I was going to suggest the same thought.
In the USA we have been Phosfate free for years like since the 70s.
What brands do you recommend? I’ve found one called ‘oasis’ … but I’m also looking for bio compatible shampoo and conditioner if that exists.
I have one of these. I recommend you spin dry before you do the rinse cycle to get all the soapy water out of the clothes
Great suggestion, thank you for the comment!
Your drain canal system is spot on
You are living the life there in your little piece of paradise! Meadow is too cute!

I agree, they smell so good!
Unless you have allergies.
Such a cute little washer. Glad you like it. Meadow was so cute chasing the water. 🙂 🐕

I love these Twin Tub Machines ... they wash really well..🧺 hugs to Meadow please 🐕 take care ❤
Meadow was fascinated by the water :)
Wow that works great. I just bought a 20 foot hose to direct the water from my outside washing machine to the trees, had it going into a 55gal drum.
I know you are loving that instead of the bag.
Most definitely!!!
That littlevwashing machine should be handy. Nice 🙂
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
Good morning Brian and meadow ☕❤😊
Hey Brian. Cool little washer. Just enough for one person.
I agree, this is the perfect size for one individual!

A little bit of a learning curve there Brian , you always figure it out though. Ah the old traditional clothes line, love it.
Thank you for the review. I will definitely have to keep this in mind for my place.
For the price and performance, I think this is a great value. Thanks for checking out the video!
Awesome washing machine! 😊
That will be nice for the tower.
Good info dude. Thanks for sharing

Will the soap hurt the trees or will they be okay
Excellent job!
That machine is way better than the “water saving” crap they make us get these days!
I agree!

@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures Been following you for a few years. Always enjoyed your winter camping expeditions.
Those washer spinners work great. I only have a spinner. I use a bucket & plunger 🪠 to wash. It works & makes life easier.
Yeah, I've done the bucket plunger too and was surprised at how well it worked. Always got my clothes super clean! Nice to have freshly laundered clothes all the time. :)
All dat kislux bags sssssoooooooo gorgeous
I like to water down the tide about 40 % It still works great and last alot longer.
Why dilute? Just use less
awesome washing machine Brian will you keep your scrub bag for when you are away. it is nice you can recycle the water to, have a great weekend both
I really do like the little washer it did spin your clothes well that’s a major plus, 😊
I use a laundry plunger, 2 five gal.buckets and a yellow industrial mopping bucket w/ squeeze lever on wheels. Lots of elbow grease and homemade laundry soap.
That's good stuff, I've done a similar washing set up with 5 gallon buckets. Always gets clothes so clean, very effective way to wash stuff.
Impressive!
Brian have you thought about using a green detergent instead? I would just be concerned about the fragrance’s, surfactants, enzymes, and all the other chemicals in detergent building up over time in the soil.
Just have a question. Is it safe for the ground absorption use regular laundry detergent?
Wow that's a Kool washer. How much power does it up? How do you power it ?
Meadows a full on Vanna White showing us the way the water flows 😂

She's helping you to start digging a new swail 😅
I’d love to buy one for my apartment but I’m worried that I can’t use warm water?
Nice 👍
What's the water inlet for on the right , above the spinner ?
It's just a duplicate intake so you can put your water source on either side.
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures - Ok, cheers.

Any chance the laundry detergent will be bad for the tree?
When you say the spinner has a 16 pound capacity, is that 16 pounds of dry laundry or 16 pounds of wet laundry?
Have you thought about a biodegradable soap for your plants?
Definitely and made the switch today. 🌱👍
What machine is this please
Meadow 🐾 is so full of mud... LOL 🤣 😂 now we know why you're towels were dirty.... LOL 🤣 😂 🤣

Castile Soap
Is it solar power?
No, it's your typical 110 plug but I use my solar battery bank to run it.

You could Use a piece of TP or PT inner cardboard roll to help prevent a kink at the water hose inlet port junction. 🧓
