He is not just a great actor..he is a great human being too. It is really great to have him as the brand ambassador of our organization Bengal Speech & Hearing Pvt. Ltd.
Of the limited work that I've seen of his, I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them. Not once did I feel that I was watching an actor portray a character but I felt as if it was life that was unfolding in front of my very eyes. Magical!!!
Disliking has become a ridiculous and irritating habit of some bunch of uncultured fools who don't even know why they are doing it! Didn't understand what is there in this interview to dislike?
Soumitrababu himself is a personification of art and culture. He is a great inspiration for them who keep secular aesthetics attainments at the top in their journey of life.
Me, being part of the post-Ray films and part of the "Bollywood Masala movies" era, it hurts to see that he was not discussed by my family more. I got to know about him during this quarantine and I must say, all these "Golden-Era" Artists should be reverred more by our generation. At least we will appreciate better Indian regional creations than formula commercial films!!
I feel like he is around me as apurba, mayur bahon, narsingh, feluda..Never felt like an actor or celebrity, but somebody who owe a place in my family..❤️
And what a wonderful interviewer. Better than Sharmila Tagore in Nayak. This interview is so refreshing. I wish journalists like this lady were aplenty
Actor of Satyajit's 14 films, a unique stage actor, director, poet, reader and eloqutionist( enlivened the poems of Tagore and Jibonanondo) Awarded with national award, podmabhusan, awards from France & Italy, our Apu, Amit Roy of Sesher Kobita, Feluda forever 👌👌👌👌 Lot of salutations 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The interviewer needs to be more careful before a legend sitting in front . You cannot giggle in front of a legend seriously. Rather than that she should've being normal without giggling
You can tell Soumitro always felt second fiddle to Uttom Kumar. Both are great actors, but Uttom Kumar made way for actors like Soumitro, which deep down he knows and cannot escape from.
Uttam Kumar was a big star, but Soumitra Chaterjee was the best actor, without Soumitra there would have been no Feluda, no one could have replaced him as Feluda no matter who

You can't find these type of legends anymore...his contribution to cinema is outstanding.
First time watching Soumitra Chatterjee giving an Interview in English.
I have grown up watching his films specially the films of Satyajit Ray.
Me too
Thanks TH-cam. I can recommend this to my non-Bengali friends now. A man of wisdom. May he rest in power.
What a wonderful interview! So much warmth and passion from a perfect gentleman. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Proud that I lived in the times of Uttam Kumar. Honoured that I lived in the times of Soumitro Chatterjee.
RIP legend. Bengal just lost one of it's most prolific sons today.
Both Bengal as well as India
Doctors , engineers , they are prolific
