Refreshing to see something that is not “canada is shit, everyone is leaving, trudeau bad”. Welcome to canada dude! Canada is awesome and it needs more positive ppl like you now more than ever! I hope all goes well for you!
I agree Jacob. As with anything in life, it is what you make it. Moving to ANY new country is not easy and is always going to be a grind even for your first few years I'm sure. Thanks Bud!
Exactly what I was thinking, so refreshing to see a fellow brit enjoying his time in Canada. I was there for a month and absolutely loved my time there, it seems like theres a lot of negative jargon online about Canada but its certainly better than the UK every country has its good and bad things its all just down to perspective and the individuals mental attitude in my opinion.
Yes, lots of such negative videos out there. Sometimes, I wonder it’s a deliberate attempt to create negativity simply for views, likes etc to generate money from google Adsense. Unfortunately, negativity gets attention and watch hours.
Hey Dan! Great story and congrats on landing a dream job. We'd love to catch you in Hamilton some time this spring and maybe do a collab. Shoot us an email if interested. 🚀
Hamilton is a great spot; Bruce Trail, Niagara Escarpment, Amish Country, close to two American borders, (Buffalo, Detroit) Algonquin Park, Georgian Bay...you're central to everything. Just use common sense; gangs are everywhere, but if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone. The UK accent is a big plus, and being a musician in the internet age is also a huge plus. Just trust your gut and put one foot in front of the other. Looking forward to more vlogs. I'd say, get yourself a rescue dog, and the pathway to more friendships opens even wider. There's no better way to meet people than taking your dog for a walk. It's a real ice-breaker. You could also get involved in a local church, as many of them are keen on musicians.
It differs from country to country but mine took around 8 weeks to process. And I believe it is what you make it but you have dig deeper than jobs fairs. If there's omewhere you want to be you gotta do your research and dig to find something!@@Gloryboyquan

Hi there, I'm a musician and I'm thinking of going to "The Royal Academy of Music" or "Royal College of Music" (London, UK). I want to know your thoughts on this decision.
Is Hamilton still not good? I thought Hamilton had changed significantly in recent years as home prices continue to skyrocket and more people from the GTA are moving there.
I quite like it Toby! From my small time here, i think it's an on going process of investment and developing. Hopefully it doesn't go too far down the gentrification route!
So for what i wanted to do (music industry) I found Canada had more going off than Aus + NZ, that's teh sole reason really close to the US, bigger music scene etc.
For anyone thinking of moving to canada. Do not. This country compared to the one I grew up in is utter shit. It is essentially a colony of India now. Everything is expensive as fuck. After travelling to the UK I would 100% prefer living in the UK to Canada.
As a person who has done his fair share of travelling and meeting people from different cultures, backgrounds and countries, i can say that honestly everyone thinks or considers this at some point in there life. You say moving to the UK is better? Go try it and let us all know with a vlog :)
well then you shouln't have travelled to UK, you should've migrated there. It takes balls to migrate to a new place. Let's take Danny's message here and why don't you make a vlog on how it turns out. Cheers !
Good for you, but you are in the honeymoon phase. The majority of immigrants have regretted their move to Canada. It's a trap, everything looks great at first, until the effect of honeymoon phase starts wearing off.The reality will hit you sooner or later. But enjoy it while you can.
@@dannysmartmusic Thank you for standing up for us bro. It's disheartening that even after living here for 20 years and holding a bachelors and masters degree from Canadian institutions, some still view me as a second-class citizen. What's funny is that I received my education in Dubai under the British syllabus, completing O levels and A levels, when I tell most people that here, they are clueless lol. But yes, most of us Indians face the misconception that we travel by boat from a slum and are dirty etc etc 😥 . Despite the challenges, my time in Canada has been amazing. However, I've decided to relocate permanently to Dubai since things are a bit rough here. Dubai has a lot of British expats, its a well favored place since there are no taxes and they are relatively open minded, being referred to as the Las Vegas of the middle east. Btw. Hamilton has its merits, having spent a decade there attending McMaster University, but I recommend considering the Halton region for its relative safety and tranquility. touchwood.
@@LokeshThakur for what it’s worth brother, you are not a second class citizen. Canada was built by immigrants and is a country of immigrants.
