You should have done this video 10 years ago when I was watching your videos. I did the IELTS and passed with a high score. Unfortunately, after 9 years living in Canada, I couldn't afford to buy a house, I work in a low paid job that doesn't use my skills (I did a PhD back home). Now, I am under cancer treatment and maybe this developed because of all the stress of immigration, different food and environment. I was a healthy person for 30 years in Brazil 😢. Today, I wouldn't move to Canada. Before the Russian war, the food was not as expensive as it is now. I can't even move because of my treatment and my son's treatment as he was born with a congenital difference.
@nelson-al4663 it is really sad. I thought my country Bolivia is the worst place to live, but I see that every country has its own problems. I certainly still think that it's good to work very hard in Canada for 10 years, save money, and come back to the home country (sorry if my English is not good enough)

I moved here 6 years ago with my family and one of the hardest questions I get is "Why" I have come to Canada. My life was pretty decent back home, despite Brazil's corruption and social violence. Truly, we all want a better life - and even to become wealthy if possible. The country is, in fact, quite expensive, and housing is virtually unaffordable if your income is not way above the national average. However, I think it is a mistake to restrict to money our definition of success. The whole experience is enriching and we should face it as a spiritual journey with a deeper meaning. There is no perfect place in the world, but rather what place's virtues and problems we are willing to embrace. And do it with open hearts.

I have brain cancer. In the USA I would have access to proton beam, gamma knife, and immunotherapy. But here, they have refused that because its too expensive and my life isnt worth it, they say. Instead, they have offered to suicide me. Yes, that is correct. In Canada, suicide is not necessarily something you do to yourself. The doctors are big on it and they offer death as a treatment option fairly often. So Im going to sell my house so i can pay for treatment in the USA to save my life.

What you shared in this video is 💯 percent! I’d also like to add that we should be grateful for the positive stuff, and be the change agent for the negative stuff. Starting from learning about Canadian history, our legislation, learning and acquiring what it takes to land the job we want to do, learning how to vote to have better government, being involved, being there for our community. I think communities are weak in many parts and this is harmful to our younger generations. But we can do better.
Great point there Emma, less crimes than in other countries, and that sense of security overall is ok. As an immigrant, We're all aware of the housing crisis, and the lack of real work from the government to solve real issues (unfortunately that's how politicians work everywhere) and professionally speaking Language, professional experience and revalidation for some specific areas/fields would be required.
It's amazing to listen your advices. The headstart and the disadvantages on moving to Canada, currently I live in Spain going on 24 years. Despite having a strong command of the local language is not easy to be foreigner, talking about the cost of living is true that as much as you get as much you spend. Now the big problem in western countries is the shortage of house. Renting a flat in bigger cities is becoming unaffordable for many people, even for local most of them can't live by themselves due to this problem, so I can say to everyone who want to move elsewhere that think twice before to do it. Unless you are living in a country who is being devastating for several reasons. Thanks a lot for your advices and god bless you

I still think Canada is a good place to raise a family. The wilderness and circumstances give you a good sense of the relationship between humans and nature. Although I left Canada for quite a long time, I still remember the warm summer day and freezing cold winter. It is the place where you can have four seasons and squirrels on your porch all the time.
I came to live in Canada 15 years ago, of course, there are good things and very bad things about been living, working and surviving here in Canada, “but” Every single day here have represented a big challenge, “but never” as it is right now in this 2024, and the situation doesn’t look to going to be any better at all in the near future., if I where living right now out of Canada and I where taking decisions about “to move my self to another country in a permanent way, my choice definitely would be “some other place in the world” but not Canada, (of course that is “in case that I have the choice”, other ways you have to go wherever you can).
Thanks teacher, your sincerity is something special, I like Canada, its landscapes, its culture, I hope some day, Justin will soon become former prime minister.
For Iranians Canada alongside with Germany have long been the first places to move. But recent years have proved a dramatic change in the Canadian economic trend. There has been a sharp rise in the housing prices which has impacted the decisions of many Iranians who once wanted to move there. Given the fact that this has been a type of world economic crisis and many other places are more or less experiencing the same trend, Canada still remains one of the first destinations for Iranians who seek a better future. Around 12 to 15 years ago when I released I had to learn English and how Important it was, yours videos on YT were one of the most impactful devices and tools helping me improve my English. The digital resources were so good that I gave up English physical courses I attended for almost 2 years. What made your Vides very different for me at the time was the slow way you used to speak English which helped me a lot.

Not all Canadians are rich. Some of them barely make ends meet, being just one missed mortgage payment away from living on the streets. Although renting a place is an option, it won’t bring you closer to the Canadian dream of owning a nice house with a neat backyard and a motorboat, sitting in front of your garage in summer. Undoubtedly, this country has its pros , but living here is far from easy.
I saw a lot of comments from people with bad experiences in Canada. Please listen to my advice: Don’t stay in big cities. Look for cities with populations of less than 1 million people, and preferably not in the central part of the country. I came to Canada two years ago, and my family chose the city of Quebec to live in. This year, we bought our first home. Thank you for this video! I knew this channel I think since 2016 and now I realize that you are Canadian, although I had a long time that I did not enter to see videos to continue improving my English. I live in Winnipeg since 2022 and I, my wife and kids have become permanent residents. It is true everything you say in the video, but each country has its own problems and each person has their own life goals.
As for my goals was to come here to develop professionally and learn English, a better future for my children because the education here is very high level, finally I love the peacefulness that Canada has. My family and I, we're from the Dominican Republic and to tell the truth, I love my country but I love Canada more because of the security and freedom we have here.
My next goal is to become a citizen so I can travel to many countries around the world just for vacations and always come back to Canada. We have to be positive cause the whole world is in difficult times right now.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this explanation, you conveyed the information in a very good way. Well done.✅✅
I’m do not live in Canada, but I agree with you. Word going to be crazy crime rate, expensive to live . Poor people are will be poorest , it rich people will be more richer .
Hello if you want you come to Hollandiya
Don't live----> NOT ('m do not live)
+2 extra errors
in my opinion, the Canadian Gov is big problem ,they don't know how to fix those issue prompt a lot of people leave Canada.
congratulations ! I really liked your class! I will be learning as much as I can on this English teaching channel🙏🏼❤️ 🇨🇦
Wow! It was very authentic video to have many info about CAN. I would request you to make about US too..! Thanks 🙏❤
In 2013, I spent a couple of months in Toronto. Canada used to be great back then. Today, I think "The True North" is not "strong and free" anymore. ☹
I immigrated to Canada 27 years ago, I agree 100% with what Emma said.
When I came to Canada I began everything from zero because of the language barrier. I attended high school and then proceeded to college.Overall, I am currently employed as a Support Worker. Thanks for sharing this information 🌹🌺🙏🏻
you don't know how good your own country is until you move out to another country.
come Alberta Lthbridge city life is easy
Love to hear from your explanation and giving some evidences. I love this awesome country.
I moved here at last month, It's a difficult trip but a big decision, life will be hard and life will be sweet.God bless us.
Thank you for being honest. Most people are selfish, too
All of this information is true! I'm living for 8 years in Calgary Alberta, and it is exactly the same 😮 and much more things, I never thought to live.
I encourage people to come to Canada. I have been living in Canada for over Half a century. This is great country to live in which offers a lot of opportunities. Canada has allowed me to make a lot of progress in life in Education Work experienceetc. My family was born here . We are thankful for Canada which has given us hope and a bright future by applying ourselves with working hard.We thank God for Canada great nation for all to succeed.
Thank you for sharing your contributions and experiences.
I've been a fan of Emma for a long time, as I learned a lot from her teachings. It would be a dream to live in Canada.
If you want to wait hours and hours in a hospital waiting area to see a Doctor. Yes go to Canada. And months to see a specialist. If u want to haave a mortgage of 25 years to own a house , also go to Canada.
Если вы хотите получить не верный диагноз от доктора или получить ипотеку на 30 лет под грабительские 12,5% или потребительский кредит под 38%то да, добро пожаловать в Россию😂😂😂😂
My mom, who has parkinsons disease, has been waiting 14 months to see a neurologist. And she lives in Edmonton. She is getting sicker and sicker because NO ONE WILL HELP HER.
My step brother has stage 4 cancer. He was diagnosed 2 months ago and still has not seen an oncologist. This happens frequently. Cancer patients are dropping dead before their referral goes through.
@@dagraunddaggad127Сильно сомневаюсь про ипотеку в 12.5% при ставке рефинансирования 19%.

Great video Emma, very useful information for those who are thinking of moving to Canada. I had a dream to move there but now it seems that it is more difficult to be a reality.
Thank you so much for your shares on life in Canada. The information is so precious to the people which have idea to immigrate Canada for new life.

I was in Toronto last november. I have stayed there for 4 weeks. Everthing is amazing in Toronto!

thank you for your video,it makes my english better than before.

Hello teacher, good morning!

I follow you from Colombia!

Everything will be ok if we look it Positively. Thank you for Ur explanation. It's interesting to try
Thank you very much teacher, It's my first time that I was able to understand all a video, greetings from Colombia.
Thanks a lot for your advices and god bless you
Thanks for your honest explanation about Canada. There's a lot to consider.
In a few words.. Canada is not a good place to immigrate. Thanks Emma for your honesty.
Absolutely ... It is "An open-air MENTAL INSTITUTION" in which you have to pretend to be insane in order to survive. Those people are truly and irreversible brain-damaged.
Вы можете перехать в Австралию или Новую Зеландию. Нет проблем.
Можно попробовать Японию или Республику Корея.
Great to see you again teacher Emma .
That's good news dear sister because I didn't know all those informations about that county thank you for your advices and I hope to keep on following you for more informations , thanks for ❤.
Emma, thank you for your honesty! I lived in Canada almost 2 years, i tried to find reason to live in Canada. I didn't find.
Thnks for sharing this video very informative & its sooo true you said, everything is expensive here in Canada.
I am Brazilian and I would like to know Canada one day. People love It country.
Thank you for this very relevant informations
Could we practice English ?
I came to live in Canada 15 years ago, of course, there are good things and very bad things about been living, working and surviving here in Canada, “but” Every single day here have represented a big challenge, “but never” as it is right now in this 2024, and the situation doesn’t look to going to be any better at all in the near future., if I where living right now out of Canada and I where taking decisions about “to move my self to another country in a permanent way, my choice definitely would be “some other place in the world” but not Canada, (of course that is “in case that I have the choice”, other ways you have to go wherever you can).
Very true and frank statement, thanks. Sad to hear as I am also a new Canadian.
Very nice useful lesson. Thank you very much
Based on all the comments… Should I move to Canada? The answer is clearly NO. It would likely be a lifetime impacting big mistake.
Thanks teacher, your sincerity is something special, I like Canada, its landscapes, its culture, I hope some day, Justin will soon become former prime minister.
Nothing can change
Emma! I’ve been watching your videos for almost 10 years since I first started learning English. I didn’t know you were from Canada back then. Many years later, I moved to Canada just 10 months ago and I’m both struggling and happy regarding the exact pros and cons at the moment. I wish I could run into you on TTC someday ☺️
Thank you so much for this information, Emma. You are fantastic!

Thanks for sharing! A can say same things about my country. Russia is safe too, but much more cheaper
"Russia is safe too," Ты не ври так нагло.
thank you so much for sharing us this information, I really enjoyed the way how you explained every topic, thank you so much.
Thank you so much, Emma, for this information.
I am a simple engineer (without a Canadian license, lol), and my wife is a teacher. Good luck to all the immigrants!
Thanks for your information very important, very important. Your are good teacher
