Just so you guys know... I was able to make 3 pies with the amounts she suggested for the filling in a regular pie pan (not deep dish). I did have to make 3 separate crusts, and that turned out to be a whole box of cereal. They came out amazing!!!

Actually, sweet potatoes and yams are two different things. Yams are starchier and have much less vitamins. But it gets confusing, because canned versions of both tubers are often mislabeled. To check if something is actually a sweet potato, if it's canned, check the Vitamin A content on the label. Sweet potatoes will be off the charts, like 300% daily allowance of Vitamin A. If there are very little vitamins, you've got yams.
