TLDR's Race Across Europe kicks off in London, with three teams attempting to deliver as many genuine TLDR Merch Store orders to real fans as possible. Teams have 30 hours to make the deliveries, but they must also make it to the finish line (our 10,000th) order before the end of the game or risk disqualification.

Ah yeah, I remember now. The team trying to deliver a package in the Netherlands right during the week when there was a week long strike in the Dutch public transport sector. Almost no busses and no trains. This is going to be fun

So glad I decided to buy merch, seeing two teams rushing to Helsingør to deliever my package is so fun
I thought it was my place for a second. I am in Lund
i dont really understand the confusion though. they say hes made a mistake going to Helsingnor yet there it is on the map next to Helsingborg both with yellow dots for delivery and you say it was your delivery. so he didnt make any mistake at all. and the place they claim hes supposed to go is the other side of Denmark.
This is awesome, this is like watching the BBC journalists playing hide and seek, it's so nice seeing you all genuinely having fun !
For those with a lack of comprehension. They already consulted with the Jet lag team. Also Jet Lag are not sole proprietors of the concept of travelling around the world whilst performing tasks.
They didn't invent flight travel and they didn't event challenges.
I didn't have a problem with them doing that kind of competition, but I'm actually happy they did consult Jet lag since I loved their tag across Europe.
Only reason for my comment was because I knew it was all fair game and just didn't want to see the comments full of people complaining. Not only does jetlag not own the idea, but tldr already thanked them in multiple previous news videos. If you ask me they even went out of their way to thank jetlag when they didn't even need too

In fact, we actually got tips from Ben and Adam when designing the game - and Sam approved the fact we were doing something similar to them. It's great to see TLDR put on a Jetlag esc competition to deliver the orders, it would be legendary if someone from TLDR ever joined Jetlag as a guest for one season.
We now need a TLDR vs JetLag around the world or even a tag game

Racing to reach an international destination in a restricted time period has been a standard rag week activity for many decades at UK universities. It is not a new concept, nor exclusive to any one group. We should at least be grateful these guys didn't have to dress up in fancy dress, as per the rules during rag week. They could have ended up doing this in a chicken costume, or dressed as a banana or a pantomime horse....

Oh wow, has no one on Ben's team ever flown before? How on earth could they not know that the cut-off time for check-in is 30-60mins before flights are scheduled to leave?!? I don't know if I can watch the next episode... this is all too stressful haha. :)

Linz airport is small and usually not busy at all, the city itself is tiny compared to vast cities like Munich, so the delivery would have been an two hour stop - that would have been easier 5 points than the 4 for Munich ;-)
// Edit: Ignore all those AI bots writing nonsense below, one quick lookup on google flight (used correctly) shows up 100 flights from LNZ to London. And obviously there's a over a dozen direct flights alone serviced by Austrian Airline. So it's easy to verify.
I think they would have if they could have, probably no flights (or at least no affordable tickets for a flight) between there and London that day.
@@Merijn-93 When I check google flights, it returns over 100 flights for today, so there should be enough options there - Linz is after all one of the major steel production cities of Europe :-)

@@heybenjii5544 This is complete nonsense; as I mentioned before just go to google flight to see all the flights yourself. And if you can't even find the 13 direct flights that are Austrian airline themselves providing today, well, then you really need to learn how to book flights mate.
@@MaxiTB I do not know what BS you are reading but Linz is currently only served by Lufthansa, one or twice daily from Frankfurt. Besides that, sometimes charters to the south. Learn to use flightradar smartass
British Jet Lag: The Game, great video
This is so awesome and epic! You should do challenges like this more often. But I would have added a life line where you can call your rival teams 3 or 5 times to ask where they are. It would add a bit of spice to the logistics of the challenge. Overall this is amazing and please do more of these!
Wait until the next episode to find out a bit more about the game mechanics and how teams can find out where the other team might be - or buy Nebula and don't wait. 🙂

Amazing first episode to the series! Cannot wait to watch the next one, though I’ve gotta say that as an eastern European it would’ve been nice for more of the destinations to be located further east to incentivize traveling farther from the UK. Still get video nonetheless.
It's a really good point. Ultimately we were limited by the location of the final 10,000th order (which was obviously totally out of our control). We obviously could have still added eastern European spots, but realistically given time and budget it's unlikely people would have picked them anyway. We also wanted to limit options a little, to try and encourage exactly the kind of conflict which happens here. It would definitely have been fun, but unfortunately it was a little out of our control - Jack

My strategy would have been to hire a car and clean up the UK. Fly from Edinburgh to Dublin, then a Ryanair flight to the Netherlands and grab those early. A bit boring perhaps, but getting some early points in would be a great boost.

Great fun, enjoyed the video. Think I would have run to Waterloo and got a fast train to Southampton Airport where the terminal is adjacent to the platform and gone to Jersey. After that you could fly to France and on the Netherlands.

It's on nebula, last part of the daily briefing last monday. I didn't get much wiser from it, because all these metro/train stations don't mean anything to me. But they explain how they went from the lobby to the airport(s).
