As someone who was born and raised in Delaware, using that “high five from the highest point” was absolutely hilarious to me. It’s no secret that about 2/3 of the state is completely flat. It’s literally a joke in my friend group where we take a picture of a gentle slope or slight elevation and go “look it’s the highest point in Delaware ❤️”
He discarded the simplest answer out of hand. They could have purchased 1 silver coin and an no pawn shop in the country would have turned away just 1 coin. They would never get less than 80% of what they paid for
Well la-di-da look at Mr. Money Bags McHas-a-Friend. Jk lol. If you have the money, time, friends and resources to do something like this I’d say go for it. You can even put your own spin on the game with rules and challenges that would make it more fun and exciting (or embarrassing) for the participants but wouldn’t necessarily make for good tv/TH-cam.

Jet Lag gets about 300x better every season. Just look at how clean these edits are, and how well designed the rules are. Massive probs to the entire Jet Lag team.
I like the vibe of finishing challenges with the locals. I hope they will have a season that you have to try all the challenges by interacting with other people, doing some teamwork and making good friends.
This 47 minute video was much more exciting than the entire previous season of The Amazing Race. Relying on complete strangers like the pawn shop owner and Uber driver to complete challenges reminded me of the early seasons of TAR. Now, on that show, contestants are flown everywhere and it seems like every challenge is either a puzzle or simple physical battle. While the rules behind Jet Lag may seem intimidating at first, the more you watch, the more sense they make. Can't wait to watch the rest of the series!
I loved the Europe show because it was something else than flying in a plane or driving a car, and the cities were actually pretty. This one I adore also, because it has so much action. I don't look forward to travelling east, because if you remember, in the connect 4 series they just like weren't able to move around as well, because of the lack of train

Wow, not sure if Ben and Adam realized but they played that state highpoint card perfectly. I've been to 80% of the state highpoints and that is by far and away the closest one to real civilization. Honestly, if Delaware wasn't an option, that card would essentially be useless. Awesome! Now to go watch the next episode on Nebula.

In the contiguous US, nothing is even close to that level of inconvenience, but a number of them require multiple days of hiking/climbing. The worst (logistically) is probably Rainier in WA as it requires about 4 days, a permit, and almost always a professional guide. Like the other commenter noted, Whitney in CA also requires permits that are nearly impossible to get - even when looking years in advance, - so that also falls in the group of 10-15 states that are impossible for the purpose of this game
It is difficult for me to adequately express how absurdly happy I was to discover that a new season had started. Also, if I didn't already love this series, the sublime surreality of 25:25 would have made me an instant fan.

As someone who lives in Louisiana, it’s so strange to me that you guys can just go to any northern state at any moment. If you don’t have a car here, you can’t go anywhere. I was wondering how these challenges would be possible but then I realized you can take public transportation at almost any moment. This is awesome

I was thinking about this the second they released their Europe Tag, it's so much harder to find public transportation in the US. Can't wait to see how it goes!
The Boston to Washington portion of the Northeast Corridor, along with the branch lines off of it to Harrisburg, Albany, and Springfield< MA are the only really useful parts of US intercity rail. They actually have over 80% of the combined air/rail market share in their territory.
Western Europe is still pretty bad in smaller cities but medium-large cities are miles ahead of the U.S. and Canada. And minimal transit is better than no transit.
I LOVE that Ben & Adam took the PATCO into Camden looking for a frigg'n pawn shop, then deadass ubered 20 minutes up to Mapleshade to avoid all of the scary Camdeny parts.
it was genuinely surreal seeing Metro on this series, I don't think I've EVER seen a TH-cam video of someone riding it! Used to commute on it every day, great to see it represented by Sam (who I didn't know was from DC--heck yeah!!). This series is awesome so far :D

They're great! Usually I only notice one or two minor errors. This one was a bit of an exception, with "tous les mèmes" getting captioned as "two slim men", "highest point in Delaware" as "highest point in nowhere", and the Nebula ad captions appearing about five seconds after Sam said the words and cutting off at the end of the video (plus the usual minor goofs that don't actually matter). But still, far, _far_ better than most channels!!! I appreciate their willingness to pay a professional to do it instead of just using YT auto-captions or a third-party automated tool.

They are done by the captions plus service. Tom actually recommended them to Jetlag.
