I love this new Mustang GT look. I have a 2005 GT that I bought new in 2004 and it still puts a huge smile on my face when I drive it. I still get lots of thumbs up from people.
Here's the thing re: everyone saying "it looks like a Camaro": 1. It doesn't 2. The Mustang looked NOTHING like a Mustang from 1979-2004 and people got used to them and bought them anyway.
I agree regarding the infotainment screen. The classic basic style of the Mustang interior is now lost with a slab of nondescript fingerprint gathering screen. If you happen to be a shorter driver...good luck safely seeing over this new screen. It also appears that it could be quite distracting...maybe not (?).
Growing up, my older brothers had 1967 Mustang 289 cubic inch two barrel V8 with an automatic transmission that they bought used for $400. The old Mustangs were actually very basic cars. And, even though it was a V8, it wasn't all that powerful. The US$30k base model Mustang seems pretty affordable by today's standards, and far more advanced than the old Mustangs.
Manual v Automatic? Don’t be too judgmental. I have both an older manual Porsche and a newer PDK. They are both fun in their own right but the PDK is other worldly fast and precise. The manual is “fun” but the PDK is awesome fun and makes you feel like you have a lot of control over all the speed. Wow. Screens taking over wrecks interiors. For Porsche and other specialty cars I think they should offer manual dial packages.
You do have to think of the one car owner. For them cost can be a big factor and Ecoboost would be the way to go. You could actually afford the gas bill for a daily commute.
OK kids, let's get real here. The Mustang V8 is crazy fun, but the cost of these big toys is just nuts. Some perspective: From 71-73 I had a 66 coupe with the I-6 and 3 speed manual. It was plenty-O-fun and would greatly exceed any legal US or Canadian speed limit. Bought and sold it for $600. I had a 84 V6 LX convertible. Lightly used for $8000. Only 112hp but it would go over 100 and it was a convertible. Had a new 86 GT liftback with 5-speed manual with it's incredible at the time 200 hp. Kept it for 15 years. It was $12,500 OTD. Next is my 2019 Ecoboost Premium convertible with the manual. Plenty-O-fun. Got it "new" with 1450 miles for $29,000 OTD. But the best (for me) is my 2011 V6 convertible Premium Pony Package with the manual and upgraded infotainment I installed to replace the dumb SYNC that had died. The V6 was $13,000 with 82,000 one-owner miles. I've watched nearly every TH-cam review by all the regular suspects whizzing along the Angels Crest. OK, I get it, the GT is the one you want, but for many people who just want a new fun to drive Pony car, the Ecoboost is rationally the wiser choice. Come on folks, where in 99% of daily use do you need all the power of the V8 engines, plus there is the cost of premium fuel, more expensive insurance, and abysmal gas mileage. For folks that want a manual Ecoboost you can find a used one thanks to the internet. One thing that all testers fail to mention: if you want the advertised power from the Ecoboost or GT you have to use 93 octane. So why do I like the 2011 V6 best? 305 hp on 87 octane and it gets 33mpg at 65 mph. In response to one thing you noted about the 10-speed auto: the 6-speed auto that Ford used from 2011 to 2017 in the Mustang is more fun and spends less time hunting for the gears than the 10-speed, although apparently Ford has tuned it better for the 24 Ecoboost.
I have a 2019 GT, base model 6spd with active exhaust. I use 87 octane most of the time. easy 29 mpg on the highway at 75 all day. 22, 23 mpg in general driving. Way worth it over the 4cyl. I also have a 2019 Focus ST...summer I get 25/30, winter it drops quite a bit and running 93 because of the turbo. So the mustang is actually cheaper to run for me when It's on the road.
I rented a Mustang, base V6 with automatic trans, maybe 4 years ago. There was nothing "fun" about it. It looked like a Mustang, and that was all. A Honda Civic w/1.5T would have been more fun *and* practical. The Ecoboost engine would be an improvement, but still a far cry from the raging beast, the GT. "Go big, or go home."
have always like the stang...but am not really sold on the instrument cluster....like the retro look of the earlier ones..but seems to be the way things are going...nice car...V8 only way to go..enjoy🙂
Have you guys driven the non Performance Package EcoBoost as well? If so, do you think the extra $$$ for the Perf Pack is worth it in the 2024 EB? Looks good on paper when building it to spec online, just not sure if the $6500 CAD price tag is substantiated........
Should’ve started with the ecoboost. Once you’ve driven the GT, unless you’re already a fan of the ecoboost you’ll just be disappointed. Also, the trim you’re showing is the premium. The base model has both seats, and the screens are separate, not continuous. As for me, I love my 2018. Too bad they discontinued manual transmission for ecoboost.
By the time you get the GT with Premium, Performance package, Magneride, options you’re over $60k for the GT. Basically you’re in same price point as the new M2! I think the M2 is the better deal because you get more refinement, luxury and chassis engineering. What do,you think?

The Mustang has grown in size and price soo much in nearly 60 years, I really think Ford needs to downsize the next generation, some versions are over 4000lbs, can you say Mustang XXL! No manual in the Ecobeast!?! BIG FAIL Ford!!! It is a sports car, it needs to be an option. When I bought my Mustang the manual was less expensive, a bonus in my case because that is what I wanted, even if it has to cost a bit more for the manual, you have to offer it! I really think everyone should at least learn to drive a manual in driving school, soo many people missing out on the driver/machine connection! Andrea gets it, good for her! Overall a decent update to the Mustang, still not completely sold on the new grill, but from some angles I can see what they were going for so it's a pass! Great review!
I'm with you,I'm 51,I remember walking the lot of my local Ford dealership round 89,90 you could get a loaded out GT for around 15,16k ,so much for Henry Ford's vision,A car The working Man can afford.
Prices have risen down under also. This baby boomer would struggle to find the cash for. Dark Horse $90k plus options and taxes. The eco boost is $58k plus options and taxes. GT V8 $73,500 plus options and taxes. Add close to $10k for convertible. So not for me. Great review of one of my favourite USA cars. Cheers.
Andrea has come a long way since learning to drive a stick on the Miata. Love the car (and the review) but I think Ford has missed out in not offering the ecoboost in a manual. Keep up the good work.
I have a 2022 Bronco with the 12” screen and lately the screen has been going black when I put it into drive at times. I’m thankful that I have access to the volume and climate controls! Because of this issue, I don’t think I will ever buy a vehicle with all screen controls. Great review and nice looking car!
The Car I'm sorry I sold; 2016 Mustang convertible v6, I lowered it, added new front/rear stabiliser bars, added 19" rims, chipped it, added air intake. So much fun to drive, looked great too. For anyone buying convertible, add a windscreen that goes behind drivers and passengers seats, cuts wind by 80% in cockpit. I also golf a lot and my carry bag and push cart fit in the trunk! I will buy another Mustang convertible. Anyone want to buy my 2000 S Type 4.0 L Jaguar?!? 😊
Have a 2015 Ecoboost and have gotten 6.9 L/100km travelling on 2 lane highways to the cottage. An econobox wouldn’t be much better meanwhile this is a more fun Mustang. The power is there, sound not so much though it sounds better inside the car. All good except the ride is a bit firm for my liking. Question: Presuming the magna ride is available with the Ecoboost is the ride more comfortable with that option?
Great review! Some of those wheel options are not available unless you get a complete package. I feel touch controls force you to look away from the road to make sure you are touching the correct spot.
Wow!! The GT looks fabulous!! My first car was a 64-1/2 Mustang. I’m a little torn over the dash screen, almost looks like an afterthought, but not a dealbreaker. As appealing as this car is, and I fall into the demographic that can afford this. It’s not what I’m looking for at this stage of my life , it would not be practical. although if I had disposable income, this would be a fun second vehicle.
Awesome video Andrea! This v-8 Mustang like Zack said it’s looks like a badass. Exterior looks similar for many years but love the dashboard! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻☕️☕️

I have a 2022 Bronco with the 12” screen and lately the screen has been going black when I put it into drive at times. I’m thankful that I have access to the volume and climate controls! Because of this issue, I don’t think I will ever buy a vehicle with all screen controls. Great review and nice looking car!
I laughed when I saw “Oh God” on the driver screen. Does that pop up when you mash the go pedal? 😂
Great review as usual guys.
Is this filmed in Canada? Wow, gorgeous mountains. Where is this?
Nvm! 7:05 mentioned this is Angeles Crest Highway in Los Angeles, CA.
Question: Presuming the magna ride is available with the Ecoboost is the ride more comfortable with that option?
what’s magna ride and yes they have it

I should have typed MagneRide suspension.
Lord dont let something like that hold you back from a car like this i havent stopped smiling yet driving mine
Kudos to Ford, as they still making real cars like this.
Awesome video Andrea! This v-8 Mustang like Zack said it’s looks like a badass. Exterior looks similar for many years but love the dashboard! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻☕️☕️
It certainly is badass, what a sound! 🔥
@@andreaspencer9813 I know. I can hear from your video background. WOW!
@@10OF9OFBORG So fun!
The 5.0 Coyote V8 is worth the price of admission.
No one buys the manual and Ford plus the dealerships know this.
I've only heard terrible things said about Ford's 4-cylinder ecoboost engines. Are they better now than they were a few years ago?
From what I read yeah it is better. The new Ecoboost overall is better than the last generation Ecoboost.
It's a drift brake guys not gimmicky. Learn how to use it !
Hello! Quick question regarding the convertible. Is the new screen bright enough with the top down? Is there sun glare? Thank you!
I had a '64 1/2 back in the day with the 289 V8. Wish I still had it. But this new Mustang might change that.
