More cons than pros. I grewvup there and still live in north county. It has gotten out of control with cost of housing. Most locals dont care about the wine industry. Its become just another tourist trap. Alot of homeless as well. More than ive seen in my life..

Thanks for this. I am in the central coast right now SM, hoteling it with my two house panthers. I will be planning a trip up your way next week and maybe we can cross paths. Thanks, Bill.

This was great. My husband and I are moving to Paso next week (from the Bay Area). The tips on frequency of AC maintenance and filter checks is eye opening as a renter going into a home for the first time!

I grew up there was born there the reality is if you have a high school diploma and you're young you can work in the prison or the mental hospital in Atascadero if you have a masters you will unfortunately work at Walmart or McDonald's

On the tourisms section about things going on, you forgot to mention the Mid State Fair that is held around the end of July, beginning of August. Concerts, rodeo, and occasionally motorsports. Also the fairgrounds are used for many other gatherings (display shows, conventions, horse shows, etc) during the year.

Yes!! I had mentioned that in another video however GREAT point here! The Mid State Fair is a HUGE event for the area!

Can i ask is it the way you pronounce or the way spanish pronounce with accent on end? Also it looks like a lot of restaurants with drinking wine but if you dint drink is it worth driving through with my rv and walking around?

    • @caryeastwood3066

The ladies are pronouncing it correctly (as the local pronouncing) Ro-bowls. I know some people pronounce it as Ro-BLISS.
As for walking around, you will find many little shops and interesting attractions. There are several museums around. The 2 local history museums are 1 in the old downtown library in the city park (backs up to 11th Street) and 1 in the 2000 block of Riverside Drive, near the Mid State Fairgrounds.

They are pronouncing Paso Robles like a local! The pronunciation is how we know who is local and who is a tourist.

@@csc9564Mexicans call the USA Americano and we don't fuss. Grew up on border in sd and not common for Americans say Meh-Hee-Co (Even though thats the official mexican accent), and no locals I've met in Paso says Robliss or Paaa-so, but rather, Pah-so.
