Oh wow! I love your version of the flower design! I'm not looking forward to making all my neutral ones so I might see if I can't get my knitting machine to work to make them instead! ❤
I'm a slide rule era chemical engineer. Before my engineering education I served it the Navy where I gained an appreciation of the fiber art of knotting for both practical use and as ornamentation. I like your approach to the art, science, and engineering of knitting. Well done.
I've tried knitting just the basic of the knit stitch and tried. The hexi Puff blanket is very pretty and I want to teach my self to knit so I can make hexi puffs and put them together and make something for my dolls first and then make something bigger next. Cause seeing The flower hexi puff together is a perfect for a doll pillow
Of COURSE I'd like to see updates - whenever you feel like sharing. I am the person who always wonders how 'did they do that?" and you are the one that figures it out! Its fascinating to see your solutions to very complex problems.
What a great idea to use your CSM and knitting machine to make hexipuffs! I love that you make them in a group of seven and attaching them together like a bouquet of flowers. Great way to use up scrap yarn! I can imagine that this blanket is soft and squishy - very nice!
I'm so excited to see an update on this project! I hope you continue to share the progress with us, it's so cool to see more of a "real time" progression as a nice companion to a giant project coming together in one video.
Thank you for sharing so much. I, too, am a combination knitter. I wish patterns would just say 'left-leaning decrease' or 'right leaning decrease'. This SSK stuff requires so much thought! I'll look into that Craftsy class. I'm a long time member. You have 'un-vented' as Elizabeth Zimmerman would say, the hexipuff on a double bed knitting machine. I did a demonstration for the Brisbane Passap Club in February 2012 and published the pattern in the newsletter for that month. I showed how to do it with the waste yarn in between each puff. Another member adapted it for a single puff. Everyone at the meeting had an idea on a different method. I can send you the article if you wish. Keep up the good work! Kisses for Nutella too!
lol I have zero patience for or interest in working with machines, BUT it’s fun to watch you make them work for you! 🎉. I still can’t even visualize how the machine works on flat fabric, let alone curves and hexxies etc. You go girl!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love how creative you are getting to make them in various ways to find what works to use up scraps and make a cozy blanket! really neat that you are arranging them like flowers! 🌸
I love this idea! What a charming way to make good use of waste yarn. Looking forward to seeing it when it’s completed, whenever that shall be. Because that is also a really appealing part of this … it really is a slow project. And it’s nice to have those on the go, too.
thank you as always for a great video. just a suggestion - get a paper towel holder to put your cones on so they don't fall all over the place when you are knitting :)
It's so squishy, I'm gonna die! But really as someone pointed out a blanket of pillows, very cool. Updates are great, I'll be part of the group watching as they're coming!
Yes to more hexipuff updates please. I'm considering doing this with scraps one day (currently knitting play foods for my nephew with scraps). I too struggle with my wrists - and brain fog - so seeing what you figure out as easiest will be very helpful, as well as chill watching.
For some reason when you said, "Let me introduce you to this video's sponsor," I really thought you were going to say, "Nutella!" Well, Nutella is definitely a lovely co-star.
I hand knit The Beekeeper Quilt about 5 or 6 years ago (well, that was the end date lol). I made 500 hexipuffs and it took me about 18mths. Each hexipuff took half an hour in the end (they started at about 45mins each). I printed up a grid of numbers to 500, the first 100 hurt but it was so exciting to cross off the hexis ❤❤ Was fascinating watching this video from a different perspective.
Love your dog Nutella so so cute. I don’t have any kind of knitting machine, so I don’t think I shall be knitting this, very interesting though, thanks 😊
My Beekeeper's Quilt has been in progress for like 5 years. I'm knitting hexiflats rather than hexipuffs, and I AM knitting them by hand. But I'm spacing it out, I'm knitting them with sock weight leftovers, so far I have like 500? I want a BIG snuggle blanket though so it'll be a hot minute, but it's nice to knit a few instant gratification hexis between my bigger projects!
Today im giving my wrists a break from knitting and sampling some crochet square patterns I’ve had saved for a while. I don’t know why crochet doesn’t hurt my wrists but knitting does. I had started knitting a dress for my daughter and I suppose I just knit too much for a 3 day period 😅
If you create a hexagonal lace pattern, you could knit the blanket in a front and a back piece on the flatbed machine. But this would involve color planning in advance again
I’d started knitting some hexipuff’s a few years ago, I stopped. I’ve been seeing them pop up again and I just love tiny, portable knitting projects. I’m torn as to whether I want them stuffed or not though.
Love that you're hexagon afghan is a long-term, use-up-scrap-yarn project. It's looking great so far. Our Internet reception has been less than stellar the last several months, so I feel like I've missed something big. Do you move house again?
Editor me (approx 10:05), you just 'discovered' SAYG....or Seam As You Go 15:56 (approx) it might also be easier to pick up the stitches from inside the waste yarn, as you pickup just the purl bump and it stands out because the waste yarn is a contrast colour you could also knit one puff, stuff it, cast off on the machine then cast back on, rehanging the cast off stitches and knit the next puff, repeat this until you have a 'chain' of them all stuffed and all you need to do is bind off that last open end.

A blanket made out of tiny pillows might be the best thing I’ve ever heard of 😮 it looks so soft and squishy!
Hexipuffs sound like either a super delicious light and crispy snack or a line of adorable plushies,
I've tried knitting just the basic of the knit stitch and tried. The hexi Puff blanket is

Hexipuffs are my dream, thanks to Retro Claude
I wonder if you could do several 'runs' of the hexi puffs at the same time on the flat bed???? rather than only one at a time? :)xx
I'm so excited to see an update on this project! I hope you continue to share the progress with us, it's so cool to see more of a "real time" progression as a nice companion to a giant project coming together in one video.
Nutella is THE sweetest dog ever🐶🤎 Blanket looking great. Looking forward to seeing how it grows 👍
I will watch all the hexipuff vids that you want to make! I 💛 that all the flower centres are going to be yellow, gives it a bit of cohesion overall.
Thank you for sharing so much.

I would be very interested in this article. Is it on line anywhere? I’m not far from Brisbane, btw.
I'd love it as well
@@fionaellem4379 Lovely! Yes, do you know how to communicate off public platforms? Are you on Ravelry? I'm Bonniecand there.
@@bonniecolleenpappin8807 hi, I’ve just gone over to Ravelry, but am not sure I’ve found the right person, as they’re listed as being in Tennessee…
@@fionaellem4379 Yep, moved to TN in 2016!
I love your hexipuff series, would love regular updates!
Hexipuff blankets are so cool but I hate knitting in the round with a small circumference. So, I just keep looking at yours and enjoy that 😊
lol I have zero patience for or interest in working with machines, BUT it’s fun to watch you make them work for you! 🎉. I still can’t even visualize how the machine works on flat fabric, let alone curves and hexxies etc. You go girl!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I want to see all the ways to make these!
I don't have a knitting machine nor do I really knitt in general, but I still think this is very interesting
I love how creative you are getting to make them in various ways to find what works to use up scraps and make a cozy blanket! really neat that you are arranging them like flowers! 🌸
I love these videos. Very peaceful to listen to and watch while working. Plus I am impressed by your patience and dedication to figuring things out
❤ it’s like a soft, warm, squishy project diary

You sound so much like Elizabeth Thatcher from when calls the heart❤😍 its seems fitting with your channel because the show starts in 1910✨️

I’d love to see a comprehensive tutorial video of how to make the hexipuffs. Maybe even a crochet version!
There is a crochet version called The Apiary Quilt
I want another hexi-puff update, please! (Whenever there's work to update us about.) AND also Nutella is a cutie :)
Nutella is so adorable. This is a great project.
For some reason when you said, "Let me introduce you to this video's sponsor," I really thought you were going to say, "Nutella!" Well, Nutella is definitely a lovely co-star.
Bee keeper blanket has been on my To Knit List/UFO list for 10 years come May 27th.....
It would be great to see you make a puff using only a single bed machine! Thank you for the knitting machine content. 😊
I hand knit The Beekeeper Quilt about 5 or 6 years ago (well, that was the end date lol). I made 500 hexipuffs and it took me about 18mths. Beekeeper quilt was on my to-do list. ❤
Your design is absolutely stunning! ♥I am always trying to find ways to use up scrap yarn and I appreciate your video. Thank you. 🤗
yes, please--keep us updated! this whole video just made me smile!!
love the update and absolutely love Nutella
That is so lovely and practical! I would love another update anytime you want show us!
Wow amazing how you figured all that out , it's looking so pretty so far yes please keep updated on progress , thank you for another great video !!
Love your dog Nutella so so cute. I don’t have any kind of knitting machine, so I don’t think I shall be knitting this, very interesting though, thanks 😊
Of course we want an update on your hexipuff blanket as it grows and you try new techniques, please.
Love the hexis! I'd want to make much larger hexis, and then it wouldn't be a scrap project! 🙃
what serendipitous timing!! I was just watching the first hexipuff video last night. I'm loving the chance to follow along!

I rejoined Crafts specifically to take that combo knit class. Thanks so much for the recommendation!❤
love your background design😍
I am very much interested in more hexipuff updates 💚
Soft and squishy, yum.
YES! More Hexi-Puff videos.

Very cool 😀
love this channel
My “hard stop” with Yhe Beekeeper Quilt” was NOT the hexipuffs, but the thought of sewing them all together!
IIRC the pattern calls for tying them together, making it easier to replace one
I’ve never made this before, but it seems/seams lol as though double knitting would speed things up considerably.
You could also knit and join the second half by hand, too!
Hi, I think you can make short row heals/toes on the flat bed machine like for socks. Maybe nice to try for your hexipuffs?
Editor me (approx 10:05), you just 'discovered' SAYG....or Seam As You Go

What is the blue sweater you are wearing? I love the collar!!
Wondering if it might be worth knitting a straight segment between the two end trapezoids for elongated uh, octopuff
I love the needlework of sheep on the wall. I'd love to make it. Who did you buy the kit from? Thanks!
Think I'll stick with my dpns!
BOOP ❤
Oh wow! We are getting a snowstorm in a few hours and I can just imagine curling up under entire quilt made of these hexy puffs!
Updates? Did you try the other method, top down ? with the pocket
I'll ask the hard question: at this point, is it faster than hand knitting?
Yes, once you get the kinks worked out machine knitting is way faster.
Nice Dog.
more hexipuff please
Where can we find the pattern pls
❤❤❤
What breed is Nutella?
Whats a csm?
circular sock machine
a round knitting machine intended (but not limited) to knitting socks
Wtf youtube unsubscribed me from you out of nowhere so I didn't know you released this video 😢
