@@SMGGamingBenchmarks - They both have accents, and they are both tech channels, but they aren't the same person. Been following both for the last few years now. It was actually because of Phil's videos about building XP systems that got me to build my first gaming PC. Intended to go pick up used parts to build an XP era gaming rig, but wound up finding newer parts and built something more modern. Been hooked since.
i personally was gaming on an i3-3220 for a long time, since it was new basically, then i found out my board support sandy and ivy bridge xeons so i went looking for a deal on ebay. turns out going on the supported cpu list and looking up each xeon till i found the lowest one in the stack of either generation that is 4 core with hyperthreading worked wonders for me. i got a xeon e3 1230 4c/8t @3.20Ghz and it very ofter turbos to closer to 3.8ghz. turns out that i3 was holding back my GTX 1050 by a descent amount. not sure if this will actually help anyone else or if i was just lucky af but i hope this wall text helps someone.
LoD Sluggy I'm currently rocking an i5-2400 cpu, planning on upgrading to the xeon you mentioned cause it's basically an i7-2600 but without the integrated graphics. It's cheaper than the 2600 but it is slightly power hungry. I have a GTX 960 so crossing my fingers my games will be smooth ~
@@CheatCodeChico hope everything goes well for you. i had a longer reply but it got deleted so i will give you the basically of it, i havent played many new AAA titles on this cpu but indie and small dev shit runs great on this thing. exambles being warframe, space engineers, diablo 3, grim dawn, Starcraft 2, overwatch, League of legends, ark:se, and whatever else i played on it out of my like 200 game steam library and no problems so far. further note my chip stays rather cool thanks to an AIO watercooler i have on it so im not sure what it behaves like on air. thanks for taking to read my ramblings.

@@pgale The local used market is your best choice. A lot of people don't trust ebay so they sell their used or ex-mining GPUs and CPUs for very cheap on the local market. I personally don't live in a big country but there are still good deals here.
3770k and 4770k's go for like $80-100 USD and they are still the recommended CPU spec in 2019. Both can be overclocked to 4.5-4.8ghz easy and provide 120+fps gameplay @ 1080p when paired with a newer graphics card.
whats up man. i have been a builder of new systems for many years, but after i found your channel, i started buying older cpus, i now have a very nice collection of um, i have also started overclocking, and the budget gaming pc on the older cpu is just fine. for the casual gamer, it cant be beat!!! i have a Ryzen 7 rig for my main gaming pc. but also have 2 budget gaming pcs just for fortnite cause we have gaming parties.. one e3 1230 with a gtx 660 one with a 3430 overclocked with a gtx 660. keep up the good work,
Built myself a dual X79 (kllisre) E5-2689 (16c/32t) with 96gb of RAM from aliexpress due to tech yes city & phil's computer lab. Amazingly, all the different parts managed to arrive at about the same time, and I didn't even screw up the assembling procedure! The computer has been running for 14 days now without having had a single problem, and I have to say that I am really starting to love these old sandy bridge xeons! Paid 125 USD for the card, ~50x2USD for the processor and about ~100USD for the ram. Running with a (soon dual) GTX 980. Thanks to both of your channels!
Long time Intel user/builder here. I'm entirely on board with the AMD competition right now, and I'm thrilled that we as the consumers are the real winners. I've been in the computer hardware scene since the days of 386, and building since Pentium processors were a thing. I don't think at any other time in history, have we had such amazing offerings from all corners of the market, no matter the budget or the goal. I finally built my first personal AMD system this go around, with an R5 3600x (I know, not worth the extra $50, but was available before the 3600 non x), and this has definitely been, by far, the best performance I've seen for the price on new hardware for a long time. Previously, I was running an old X58a-UD5 with a Xeon X5680 as a daily driver. I hope that each company can continue to trade blows with subsequent upgrades. I can't wait for the market to re situate the pricing so we can get our hands on those high core count processors, like that Xeon at the end, at a bargain (more so than now)
I'm surprised a Ryzen 5 1600 didn't make it on the list. I've been able to find them here in CT, USA used for around $50 USD lately. Paired with used RX 580 which I can usually get for around $50-80 depending on the model that combo makes for some really nice budget builds.
Really value your opinion mate! Decided I'm not in the market right now. When I am, however, definitely plan buying used and will definitely look out for your latest video.
I don’t understand why i5 3570’s arent recommended? They cost $30usd on ebay and h77 motherboards are dirt cheap too (25~30 usd). The CPUs are way better than x3450s and clock 4+Ghz (the k versions clock at 4.8+ ghz).
I don't know that I'd say a 3570 is WAY better than the X3450. It's only 4c4t for a start. Sure, the IPC is somewhat better, but even with a large clock speed advantage, 4c4t chips tend to be a lot more stuttery in a lot of modern games than 4c8t ones. And you're not going to be doing any overclocking on a H77 board anyway.
Eduardo Felipe but Yes isnt talking about those either. You guys are missing the point here... NEVER look only at the CPU price but always include average Motherboard prices. I can get 3570’s + H61/H77/Z68/Z77’s motherboards for around $50~$70 both together and that costs the same for X3450+H55 old AF motherboards but performance isnt. I literally have X3570, i7 980, 1240v2, 3570 and 8600k builds in my living room right now and the 1155 Gen plays much better than 1156 (stuttering).
There is a hidden potential in The E5 v3 Haswell-EP Xeons. There is a bug that managed to slip in that allows those CPUs to be partially overclocked and TDP unlocked. It is not easy as you have to use modified bios, remove the CPU microcode, and in that state the CPU is unlocked. Then you can use bios (on Asus boards) or specifit EFI loader to lock in new settings for voltages, multipliers and power, and then you boot to the Os and use vmwarte driver to load the microcode back in during the boot, while your new OC settings stay in. With this you can boost them a lot. There is a limit, its just partial overclock, but the models with high turbos do the best. There is another thing, and that is cache size. Once your inclusive ringbus L3 get big enough (it happens at around 40MB), some operations in rendering that had to be done in RAM fit inside, increasing the gaming IPC of those CPUs drastically. The best is off course the top model aka E5-2696v3, I have it for years and with BCLK at 104 it runs at 4Ghz when 10 or less cores are used and it games equally to Coffe-lake at 5Ghz. + If you need multicore productivity you can throw in all 36 threads and then hold around 3,4Ghz, a decent boost over the 2,8 default. But the low core (10 and less) clocked max clock is what does wonders in games.
Recently got a Ryzen 1200 for 45$ with shipping on aliexpress, dropped an aigo 13$ RGB cooler and my old R9 390, runs pretty damn well, and i havent even overclocked it at all, and thanks to the cooler it will be very easy to resale. Also the ryzen 1600 seems to be around 90$ with shipping, good deal since a 3600 brand new costs around 285$ here in Chile. Was actually expecting a video like this to drop soon, and nice to see that some deals where actually ones i also saw, great that you showed it. Cheers.
I am running an E3-1245 in my Dell Precision T1600. I put in an RX 570 8GB and a USB 3 expension card with an new EVGA PSU, 12GBs of system RAM and called it done. This thing runs anything I want it to right now. It also is great for all the photography and video work I do too. I am very glad for the TH-camrs here that got me looking out for second hand Xeon based systems.
Great Video! I’ve been very impressed with my T3500 and an X5680. You don’t need to waste your money on an expensive X58 motherboard if you have a X5680 or X5690. They turbo up to almost 4ghz stock. Coupled with a 980 ti 6GB SC I’m getting buttery smooth 65-90fps in almost every game I’ve tried at 1440p. I’ve been playing Doom 2016 the last few days and I can say I’ve never seen or played a more beautiful game. Buy yourself an Edup WiFi/Bluetooth 5.0 PCIe card and you can rock a PS4 controller or Xbox One controller with Zero Lag. It’s really a thing of beauty. I’ve never had a better time PC building/gaming in my life. 2019 rocks! Thanks for yet another inspirational video! Great Stuff that all you tubers should strive to emulate!
I've managed to sell my 7 yr old i7-2600k@4.5+z77 board+16gb ddr3-1866 for $250... and bought the perfect combo r5-3600+b450 board+16gb ddr4-3200 for $430.. same gpu gtx 1070. I'm very very pleased. thank you AMD. Amazing time to upgrade. Nvme ssd prices also historic low. Cheers from Brazil man! Love your job.
There is another hidden gem and that is I7-5820K or preferably Xeon E5-1650v3. Its pretty cheap now, you can use ECC reg modules and it overclock like crazy. Its no problem to hit like 4,6 core 4,2 cache on them and in that state they defeat ZEN2 in games and you also have strong AVX2 performance and everything you need for a new computer. And you are on X99, so big upgrade path. Some can say aaah X99 boards are so expensive, while yes, sometimes there is a bargin, like one with damaged socked where only 2 channels work, and that's surprisingly good deal as this platform is not limited by memory bandwith that much, and 2 channels are enough.
I got an Asus x58 sabertooth motherboard with i7 960 for free. The guy just wanted to get rid of it as it was in his way, so he just... gave it to me Currently building a server pc with the parts
I've got a gtx 970 on the way,my sister is waiting for an i5-4670k and I'm going to be buying a ryzen 7 3700 in a few months(I know it doesn't make sense for the 970 but I do a lot of 3d rendering and gaming+I run the servers we play on.)
Really similar setup myself. Dual X5675 w/ RX 480. Works really well most of the time, except in single-threaded higher-framerate games like CS:GO. The bad single-thread performance really shows with GPU utilization. But most games use 90-100% of the GPU, and I'm damn happy with that for now.
I'm running an x5670 @ 4.0GHz (1.225V) on a Gigabyte x58A-UD3R. RAM was cheap back then, so I have 3x 8GB DDR3 sticks in my system. Pairs well with my 1070, runs most titles at max settings as my monitor is a 1920x1200, which doesn't require much GPU power.
Lot's of love for the old X58. I gladly help people breathing new life in their old X58/i7-920 rig. Xeon 5670 or 5675 and some OC. Nice aniti consumerism and a tiny investment that do wonders. Also..I want thow in the Ryzen 7 1700. (2nd hand/used) Also a good chip to look out after. Just got one 2nd hand(never used in box) for about $120. Also... B350/450 Motherboard are very cheap at the moment
I think the cheap Chinese x58 boards might be a fine match to pair with a Xeon X5687. You don't really need to overclock those to get good performance out of it because of high stock clocks. Though I suppose it isn't the best value secondhand CPU, especially on x58. Thumbs up, my friend you rock!
I recommend actually not getting any of the Xeon server cpus due to it being hard to sell afterwards when you want to sell the build. I would suggest going for i5 or i7 from Intel as they have atleast four cores which is pretty much the new standard for gaming.
I almost got a banger deal on a Ryzen 7 2700 with 16gb ram and msi x470 gaming m7 mobo for around $400, but got beaten to it. Settled for Ryzen 5 3600 and I'm really not regretting my decision, the better IPC is really nice for gaming
Zen2 value is hard to beat especially for games. Older dirt cheap Xeons will still be good for servers as long as they're not competing in the typical server space where power consumption makes a huge difference. A renaissance of personal, decentralized computing, independent of corporate giants like Google will eventually come, the question is if the hardware will survive till then, stored safely instead of recycled.
5 months ago I did bought cheap? i7 6800k (140$) with asus X99 motherboard (100$) did overclocked it to 4.2Ghz at all cores (1.35V) also got used GTX 1070 for 175$ and its do the job.
@@claritoresdiano1021 I agree... I would buy R5 3600 if I didnt had already my i7. I will go with a better GPU next year maybe... for now it's enough for me.
Man I love your PC videos, they are so honest and real! Sure it's great looking at new gear, but the second han market is flooded with interesting and amazing products because so many users keep upgrading so quickly.
Picked up on EBay a dual CPU socket Intel S2400BB motherboard for 26 UK pounds delivered! 2 of 10 core/20 thread Xeons E5-2470 at 150 UKP each, 160 UKP for 96GB of DDR3 server memory, 45 UKP for internal PSU, and a "RISER to PCI-E adapter" for 100 UKP. Everything else I either already owned or bought new.
i was about to comment in the previous video telling you to update your best used cpus and you did it i love your content keep up the great content and thanks
I'm building a x99 with e5 2690 v3 12 cores system right before 3900x came out. I've got a good deal for it but factoring in the cost for a x570 and the cpu. I think this set up that costs me less than the x570 mobo alone seems be a viable options still.
I'll pair a x3470 with cheap H55 boards that don't have voltage settings. That way doing BCLK tweaks can get you a higher frequency with a slightly higher base and multiplier to start with.
@@TheFirestriker101 I like the x58 platform but it's way cheaper and price to performance is better with the ryzen now. At this time I'm gaming on an x58 x5675 with a 2080ti. I will be back on the ryzen system once my MB is back from RMAing with Asrock. I'm not a happy camper with Asrock but for $50 and no questions I get a new board. I think my next board will be MSI or Gigabyte. I need a board with 2 built in nics. I like teaming nics in my pc builds.
Those of you near a microcenter, AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz $79.99 USD also $30/50 off when combined with select motherboard. I got the 1600 w/ b450m pro 4 with 2 year on mobo for around $138. Happy hunting!
The best tl;dw I've seen. It's hard to find any deals locally in rural Iowa. I'll be selling my 1600 soon enough after picking up a 3600. Though the 1600 really isn't a slouch by any means. For 50 bucks used it's a really good bang for the buck option
It took me a LONG.... time.... to be able to decide what was the GHZ versus CORE count versus Dollars spent "Best Ratio"..... TBH: Until the 1680 v2 comes down and is more available 'if that ever even happens as I think the ones available will slowly be bought and brought home to their "forever homes" whether in a functional system or "saved" as an awesome part of history like some highly binned 2500k's..... So, that leaves us with 6 cores / 12 threads and I do not TOUCH anything that is not a known Soldered chip.... I LOVE the price to performance "out the box" for the 2643 v2 and if HAVE to overclock your chips a bunch regardless of their "out the box" performance beings decent to superb then the other variant XEON for the E5-2643 v2 but overclock-able is the 1660 v2... Imagine what a 1660 v2 ivy bride (more beastly 4960x @ 3.7ghz OTB...) paired with a 1660 ti GPU would do, both good binned cpu/gpu's... Be kind of COOL?... 1660 Turbos out the box to 4ghz... I would love to see a video like this one from YOU Bryan for an "out the box - best price to performance" for those wanting those clock speeds at stock, pop it in and GO... "out the box beastly Xeon horse power" then the 1660 v2 is nice! They can also be had for smaller amounts then I think they are worth.... I just ordered a 2643 v2 to see how much I can gain beings its a 26 series but, the "out the box" numbers are better then good for the time and even now, especially for xeons that are also known to still reach some type of overclock if not just at least lock to their turbos.... My dream CPU, 9990X which is so RARE but not rare that you can not find one if willing to shell out the MONEY to find and purchase one.... 14 cores, 28 threads at 4ghz, turbos all to 5GHZ equals "BOOTIFULL". That is essentially an 8086k (love this cpu) but with 8 more CORES on the TOP.... Also, have a really nice MSi MOBO brian but she will only go up to a 7700 K.... I remember when the 8700k and 7700k came out, the 7700k was essentially the 2500k's predecessor in being "THAT" legendary CPU again, so I RESEARCHED.... It seems the 7700k is holding its value, more then its value for only a 4 core, 8 threaded part.. I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy it for gaming on this MOBO and get this 7100 (WAS, Only used for STREAMING...) out of this board as the 7700k always intrigued me and now even more so... It seems they always have more powerful FPS then they seem they should, I really want to try one and make a 7700k gaming system.... I think its the most well fine tuned CPU for gaming, it somehow became that, if like to see triple GTX 970 sli (most popular GPU for a long time) Paired with the legendary and even still hefty price tagged - but worth it, 7700k!.... OVERCLOCKED..... PS: What was that "unicorn CPU XEON" for x79 again, I think there were two 1691 0r?.... It even said they exist as were made by intel at a point but nobody bought any as nobody has any it seems but they seemed like they would be iconic even right now.... and of course, on X79 #still... #LongLiveX79 BTW: I would like to find a 14 core at like 3.2ghz that could turbo to 5.0 ghz on ALL CORES... That be a great chip, not sure which one exist closest to it and do not see many 14 core chips... tetracyc xxxxx??? I forget how to say the 14 / 28 thread cpu's name?.... Anyway, to the average dummy looking for specs, 14 cores it is to beat the 3900x at least in their head... I knew this would happen hence I always LOVED 14 core parts WHICH seems AMD is going to skip, big mistake if they DO..... One six core, one 8 core - but in one chip... what more could we need? :P If AMD gave us that 14 core 3.2ghz cpu with an ALL Core 14/28 TURBO to 5.0ghz even AND MAYBE SOME ROOM FOR A 5.4 OC for average binned cpu's... at a reasonable TDP - and INSANE-CRAZY-Great L-x, l-x and l-x CACHE ON BOARD! .....I'D BE THE FIRST IN line TOMORROW.... They can release it as their 8086k "cpu" competitor as in give it a GREAT NAME something meaningful to AMD and a whole with a separate launch, not sure if be best on thread-ripper or Ryzen solo though... I always like the bigger cpu's of threadripper.... BTW: AMD, No taking a 16 core part and making it to be a 14 core, I hate when stuff like this is done... I want a PURE 14 CORE.... made to be that way from the start... Anyone make it to the end of this comment? LOL, If so, anywhere I can see ALL the 14 core cpu's ever made? I know of 7740 and 9990 and a random haswell xeon, about it.... maybe a few more are out there?.... How well does that Ryzen 1400 OC Bryan? Damn that is cheap and not bad if it over clocks WELL, o not hear much of the 1400 either, not many bought it, I suppose even though its great now for price to performance for a quick gaming setup... I am about to put in a XFX 590 Fatboy and take out my 7990 triple d by xfx dual gpu cross-fired with my rare 6gb TOXIC edition of the 7970 by gigabyte as well for my triple crossfire x setup will now be one lonely 590 FATBOY by AMD for now, until the Radeon VII goes down in price as I just WANT ONE for the HBM2....... Will this XFX 590 fat-boy beat the triple cfx I had with my 7990/7970 I have now? Hmm, about to find out on my main rig, my 1680 v2 system on the assassin board. #X79 forever....
E5-2643 is a fine CPU but at over $100 on eBay, just not worth it.. As others have pointed out, you can get a Ryzen 5 1600 and motherboard combo for around $150. The value isn't there for someone who doesn't already own an LGA 2011 motherboard
Thank you Brian for the CPUs recommendation they're very great in value and available globally. But maybe for your next video you could review some budget psu or maybe some tips in choosing and buying new or used PSU?
VR works perfectly fine with older architecture. I'm rocking an e3 1240 v2 in an itx build and can play anything. I think there's just 2 games that won't work on 3rd Gen or below
I have my e5 2650 v2 system that always runs at 3ghz with 64gb ram combined with the 1060 and it runs great. The board is dual socket so I can throw in another xeon and 64gb ram for 16 cores and 32 threads for another $90 canadian or less
Still rocking an i7 2600k paired with a 2nd hand Vega 56 OC'd the CPU to 4.2 @ 1.28v performs amazingly, too bad the CPU's IMC is damaged so only 2 of the 4 RAM slot is usable
@@szpynda well I already did try reinstalling the latest Mobo BIOS just to be sure and the problem does persist so it's most likely the IMC itself, can't think of anything else rly...
Rocking a W3690 with a 1080 and still getting amazing results, even without OC (although you should be with a 1080.) Zen 2 kinda makes their value proposition less clear though - I'd recommend X58 xeons if you can get good value on the board, but otherwise I'd save for newer stuff.
Robert T yep, it’s good to know what old hardware is viable for your use case but I think ryZen is king right now for the upgrade path alone. RyZen 2 support even with A320 boards, so even RyZen 3 is likely, pop a cheap 16 core years down the line if you need it and be good to go I need be. Plus having modern features is meaningful as well.
I agree. My opinion is that r5 1600 is the best to start with, and next year, if b350's or b450's will be compatible with ryzen 4th gen, it will be a well deserved upgrade path to a r5 4600(probably that's how it will be called) or a r5 3600 that is already compatible with b350's and b450's.
Also, we must take the cheap mobo under consideration. A Pubg Lite PC and pubg 720p can be built with 2200g and 2x4 GB 2400 ram under 200USD or less. Which is a great value as vega 8 workes as rx550 card, an awesome value. 2200g is better than 1200 + 750 ti because I can add an rx570 and replace r5 1600/1400 in future where 750 ti is a waste.
I recently swapped the x5670 in my media PC to a i5-4460 simply because the motherboard wasn't up to snuff. The x5670 wouldn't even go to its turbo speed at any point, meaning even with 6 cores and 12 threads the GTX 780Ti in the PC was really being held back. Assassin's Creed Odyssey for example could barely keep 30fps at 1080p with everything on Low with the x5670. However with the i5-4460 in the PC I could get a reasonable 60fps at 1080p and that is with a couple of options bumped up to Medium. The i5-4460 gets overlooked a lot because it can't be overclocked but it is still a decent option for a budget build in 2019, there's even a reasonable upgrade path if you want more cores and threads or want to grab an overclockable CPU.
I just snagged an 8700k with an Asus Strix Z370-E, and 16gb of ram for a whole $225 USD. Local deals are always better. However, I do love me some Ali Express deals. Great Video!
I really want to use AliExpress but unfortunately the site has MANY FLAWS! When I was trying to use filtration feature such as "Form Factor - ATX", it shows ALL SORTS of Form Factors including laptops, m-ATX, m-ITX etc. etc! At lease eBay tells me that they cannot find what I'm looking for or there's none. I like shopping with AliExpress and I do get good quality products with good bargains at times. The good thing about AliExpress search feature is when I was typing few words of motherboard sockets, it know that I'm looking for a motherboard. The only thing AliExpress need to do is to fix their filtration feature and stop showing too many irrelevant items!
I'm planning to upgrade my HP z620 workstation with either the Intel Xeon E5-2689 or the Intel Xeon E5-2650 V2. I'm still unsure if my Motherboard will support the 2689. The motherboard is of the c602 Chipset. Big thanks to this channel, since it made me realize the upgradability of my system.
I suppose it comes down to the overall cost of CPU MB and RAM - DDR3 RAM is cheaper but big or faster kits are harder to find? An all round PC runs better with 16GB these days...
E5-2640 (~ £15), Asgard 250GB NVME, RX 570, Snowman, 32GB server ram and X79 2.49PB + new case, PSU etc and for £320 my daughter can now game. I do need to spend £20 on 2 decent 14cm fans for filtered air in from the top of case across VRM and Cooler towards the GPU.
For the love of god please guys invest in at least a Ryzen 5 1400/1600, the Xeon platform is outdated and you cannot upgrade from it. Buying first gen Ryzen at least means you can keep the motherboard and RAM and just change the CPU for the future.
Radius 144p The Xeons make sense if you already have a compatible board and RAM and just want something “ok” to game with for about a year or two. Other than that case yeah AM4’s the way to go
I think what's really best depends on what exactly you're doing. Even in gaming, that can be a wide range... Some people play things like League and DOTA and WoW, where you don't need terribly much. Some people are only playing old games, so 4c/4t chips are fine. But if you want to do the latest and greatest games, you need more cores, since 4c/8t aren't really doing so well in some titles. But yeah, there are certainly good deals out there. The 2400g is one of my favorites.

Why say old xeons is a dead platform when theres work around or cards to install in the pcie slots of the mobo to have new features like usb3.1, nvme or sata3? Xeons are dying but it wants to live☝️

i personally was gaming on an i3-3220 for a long time, since it was new basically, then i found out my board support sandy and ivy bridge xeons so i went looking for a deal on ebay. turns out going on the supported cpu list and looking up each xeon till i found the lowest one in the stack of either generation that is 4 core with hyperthreading worked wonders for me. i got a xeon e3 1230 4c/8t @3.20Ghz and it very ofter turbos to closer to 3.8ghz. turns out that i3 was holding back my GTX 1050 by a descent amount. not sure if this will actually help anyone else or if i was just lucky af but i hope this wall text helps someone.

3770k and 4770k's go for like $80-100 USD and they are still the recommended CPU spec in 2019. Both can be overclocked to 4.5-4.8ghz easy and provide 120+fps gameplay @ 1080p when paired with a newer graphics card.

I can't wait for the market to re situate the pricing so we can get our hands on those high core count processors, like that Xeon at the end, at a bargain (more so than now)
For those lucky enough to be around a microcenter the Ryzen 5 1600 is $80. $30 off if you pair it with a motherboard. So $50 for a Ryzen 1600.
Well the motherboard gets the 30 dollar discount.
I'm surprised a Ryzen 5 1600 didn't make it on the list. I've been able to find them here in CT, USA used for around $50 USD lately. Paired with used RX 580 which I can usually get for around $50-80 depending on the model that combo makes for some really nice budget builds.
The Xeon/Bryan love affair continues, good for you, no distracted by the all the new silicon implants coming into the market, keep up the good work
ryzen 5 1600 on aliexpress for 74€ and with the discount for new users it goes to 71-72€, for me actually a bargan, got one at rocking on 3.9ghz
Even tho, i dont know tech yes city. I refer to him as my Australian buddy
The CPUs are way better than x3450s and clock 4+Ghz (the k versions clock at 4.8+ ghz).
x3450 is 1/3 the price, cost only 30% slower.
so i5 3570 is worth ~$18 not $30.
Because E3-1230V2/1240V2/1270 are better than i5 because they have similar performance to i7 3770.

Great Xeon revaluation for 2019
There is another hidden gem and that is I7-5820K or preferably Xeon E5-1650v3.
The guy just wanted to get rid of it as it was in his way, so he just... gave it to me

I would suggest going for i5 or i7 from Intel as they have atleast four cores which is pretty much the new standard for gaming.
good point. many people dont know those xeons... which is why people make this kind of videos XD

Zen2 value is hard to beat especially for games. Older dirt cheap Xeons will still be good for servers as long as they're not competing in the typical server space where power consumption makes a huge difference.
A renaissance of personal, decentralized computing, independent of corporate giants like Google will eventually come, the question is if the hardware will survive till then, stored safely instead of recycled.
if you have budget for xeons, you buy xeons. only if i could afford to buy a 1400 or better i'd go ryzen over xeons

There's a particular Gigabyte board which is good for this, the UD2 perhaps, I forget. I had an i5 760 running on one at 4.4GHz just fine.

This channel is gold
Last year I bagged a Rampage IV Extreme, 3930K and 16GB/2400 RAM for 200 UKP, was pretty pleased with that.
Not tech related, but your skin looks amazing, what is your routine?
Still rocking an i7 2600k paired with a 2nd hand Vega 56
OC'd the CPU to 4.2 @ 1.28v
performs amazingly, too bad the CPU's IMC is damaged so only 2 of the 4 RAM slot is usable
I am going with the non k 2600 and it works fine too ;)
Gtx 1070 16gb 144hz are perfect
Are you sure about imc? I had a simillar problem with 3770K and i chenge chipBIOS and now eveything work fine.
@@szpynda well I already did try reinstalling the latest Mobo BIOS just to be sure and the problem does persist so it's most likely the IMC itself, can't think of anything else rly...
Good Job. a lot of different choices we have now.
Old Skool Intro, old skool vid!
Brian you should do another part two of this for this year
+1 for this idea, top 5 used CPU for 2020 ..maybe another follow up for top 5 used CPU in 2021
My Saturday afternoon has just been made! The Yes Man is back with another amazing video.
my saturday early morning... 1:22 am was just made
Rocking a W3690 with a 1080 and still getting amazing results, even without OC (although you should be with a 1080.) Zen 2 kinda makes their value proposition less clear though - I'd recommend X58 xeons if you can get good value on the board, but otherwise I'd save for newer stuff.
I waited for this all my life.
I think new am4 is better to start with low and upgrade with any new and low-cost parts.
I agree. It's only really worth going with the older CPUs if you get the, free or at a really low price.
Yes to the Tech Yes Man !!!
That motherboard & cpu combo,the 1356,is an amazing !!!!
Used motherboard would be more interesting. Much harder to get a good one, especially with the old hardware. Thanks for your videos!
I just snagged an 8700k with an Asus Strix Z370-E, and 16gb of ram for a whole $225 USD. Local deals are always better. However, I do love me some Ali Express deals. Great Video!
Great video, like good old times :)
Big thanks to this channel, since it made me realize the upgradability of my system.
last night i stuck a deal with this guy and i got a ryzen 2600 and a b350m for $80. he was a cool guy and he gave me a free mouse
Nothing beats a 80$ new box 1600
Period
damned i got me self an R5 1500X for that price last month!
@insaane soon baby....
@@WanBerry dang you got ripped , the 1500x was going for like 50 dollars on reddit
A used Intel i7 chip from 2012/13 would shit on it for the same price.
Alio what the fuck dude? What drugs are you on?
Even a 4790k is no match on a oced 1600 in newer games
I owned both so shut your hole please
6:30 What game is this?
You the man! Thanks for the tips
Thanks mate really love your vedios i learned alote from them
mohamed el barouhi lol
mohamed el barouhi lo
mohamed el barouhi ol
mohamed el barouhi l
O
Best bang for the buck is allways nice.
Other than that case yeah AM4’s the way to go
It's alright if you get a deal. I got a x5650, an ASUS p6t board 12gb of ram and a hyper 212 plus for 50$ Canadian (about 38 USD)
I mean I still like xeons
So... when was this build at 3:17 tested? Because that is clearly the very old look for PUBG that was ended wayyyy over a year ago...
I'm happy that the X5670 made it onto this list, I'm running an X5670 at 4.5GHz 1.32v (does 4.8GHz with 1.45v for benching) solid bit of kit
I just love how you played Dota (not with bots) and still managed to play thru the whole game and be good :D
The Yes Man is back!
I would love a top 10 like this but aimed to Streaming hardware
@@registeredblindgamer4350 My gaming system is Ryzen 1600x (Waiting for the 3950 to come out), X370 MB 32gb ram, 1TB SSD, 4TB HD and a 2080ti and my streaming system is a x5690 OC to 4.2GHZ, 24 ECC ram, 500GB SSD and a rx580 and all my streams are recorded on my nas. CPU ever gets over 25% usage in Slobs.
I use for last 9 months X5675 on Msi X58 Pro-e (northbridge heatsink moded) + GTX 1060. I love this Beast :)
Xeon was bought thanks to this channel :)
I would like to see comparison between x5675 base clocks vs high OC paired with RTX 2070 Super / GTX 1080 TI.
Picked up a Ryzen 5 1600 and Corsair CS650M for $140, not too bad as it came with warranty and all accessories/cooler (even the Ryzen sticker). #trynnahustle
Does Aliexpress have any affordable RX 570s, I checked and its a 2nd hand card about 20 bucks cheaper then the AUD$199 card at mwave new in AU
Why say old xeons is a dead platform when theres work around or cards to install in the pcie slots of the mobo to have new features like usb3.1, nvme or sata3? Xeons are dying but it wants to live☝️
My RX570 not working with H55 mobo
