Yeah you just got to go into the settings and make sure that you put it on the rest mode when you connect the portal there's a settings inside of the portal that when you disconnect from it it'll put the PS5 on rest automatically You got to make sure if that's highlighted or you can't turn back on of course your PS5 when you turn on the portal@@koonyeezy6433
I have the rog ally and I love it. The one thing PS did right was with this was make the handles like actual controllers !! I love that! I wish the ally did the same!

Do you get stutters? There’s an issue that we’re trying to get Sony’s awareness for regarding the 59.94Hz output by PS5 and the portal running at 60Hz. That makes micro stutters every 10-15 seconds brother
I do experience some stuttering but they are so far apart I don’t really notice. I’ve had the portal for about a week and I would say I’ve noticed it maybe 3 times.
@daneondemand Hey Thanks for the reply. Done some research and most of what was coming back was ps5 needs to he connected by ethernet. Otherwise will cause issues and be laggy. Those who went down the pa5 wifi route were the ones that seem to be complaining the most. Thought take a chance and ask the question, thanks for the reply. Lots of mixed messages about ps5 WiFi issues and portal being laggy.
Totally agree! If you have Ethernet nearby definitely use that for the best performance. My WiFi is good enough to where I do not experience lagging/stuttering while playing at home. I can’t say the same for mobile hotspot.

If you decided to bring your device on an airplane and play on the go. Airplane mode would prevent your Portal from trying to connect to nearby towers.

You won't be able to watch Netflix or TH-cam on the PS Portal, but what you can do is play your favorite PS5 games at home and on the go!

I also love that they did t compromise on the handles. They feel just like the normal dual sense but with a giant screen in the middle.

Apparently hackers have found a way to hack the portal to emulate games, which seems odd since I wouldn't think this would have any Software storage

The only con is the battery life and having to double tap the bottom left or bottom right of the screen for the touchpad.
I wish it was single tap or press and hold. I don't like the double tap either.

I think it depends on how much hotspot you need. I’m usually always around wifi so I rarely use my hotspot.

When your ps5 is in rest mode it will wake so you can use the portal.

Internet is required. Using mobile hotspot etc
why does a streaming device got an airplane mode?
The same reason anything does, so it doesn't interfere with Wi-Fi.
If you decided to bring your device on an airplane and play on the go. Airplane mode would prevent your Portal from trying to connect to nearby towers.

As long as the game is installed on your console you can play it! Cloud streaming is unavailable at this time.
