The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox Isn't Nearly As Bad As I Expected

  • Here's a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox review. Chevrolet's compact SUV, the Equinox, gets a minor facelift for 2022. There's also a new RS trim, which is what we're looking at here. It may not be a segment leader, but overall, the Equinox is surprisingly competent.

I leased and then bought my blue 2019 Equinox LT with the 1.5 liter engine, panoramic sunroof, roofracks and 8 inch touchscreen. Its not just a beautiful crossover but its very quiet and drives as well as any crossover in its class.it has an extremely smooth highway ride. I've ridden in the CRV and Rav 4, i think my Equinox is quieter and has a smoother ride. I had one issue, the panoramic sumroof was letting in moisture. Chevy customer service was very responsive and terrific. They provided me a loaner for a week and replaced the sunroof and the carpeting, they were worried about possible mold.

i disagree with the AWD button. I have an ‘18 premier AWD and when i don’t need AWD, it gives me better fuel economy in fwd mode, and doesn’t wear out the rear differential as fast.

I’m seeing these getting discounted again. Several dealers around here have them $3,500 or more under MSRP. Honestly, Chevy MSRP was never supposed to be the actual price. It was a negotiating ploy, so the sales guy had room to say “OK, if I dropped the price by $X,XXX would you sign today?” Before the pandemic, these were getting discounted by $6,000 off MSRP if you knew how to negotiate, maybe more. Crazy that in 2021 they were selling at MSRP. Even crazier that all Kias and Hyundais were selling at $4,000 or more over MSRP.

No discounts in the Chicago area. MSRP or higher. These sell very well here.

Not my car but this would certainly be addressed under warranty.

These young test drivers would be hilarious in a stick shift vehicle without rack & pinion steering. 😂🤣

My company provides the Equinox as fleet vehicles. I had a 2020 and it got totaled last year when a flatbed tow truck backed up into the street and had to order the 2022. It’s a very boring and blah crossover. Much better crossovers out there with better power and handling.

I agree on the power, there are many crossovers out there with better power. Also, the interior is kind of boring. Worlds away from a CX-5’s interior. But I have to disagree on the handling. I’ve rented the Equinox several times and always found it to handle very well.

@@adamesd3699 The CX5 interior is very firm unlike the comfy Equinox. I've tried both. Mazda's in Chicago area are 10% over MSRP as well.

If you're calling a compact crossover 'beautiful', I suggest going to look at a mountain or butterfly or painting or something.

    Dear
followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who
buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into
the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service,
the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a
malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help
will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep
your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf

not as bad as you say, i had a hyundai santa fe sport and service was terrible with hyundai. they wanted me to do $500 tests for oil consumption when they knew it was a problem to begin with. it had a problematic engine which they refused to replace under warranty when there is a class action lawsuit for the engine model. i sold it and bought an equinox premier, 67,000 miles and it’s been great!
