  • As new homesteaders, one of our first projects is to stack enough firewood to heat our tiny house for the upcoming winter. Additionally, as an older guy, I am always looking for a way to save myself from bending over all the time. I looked at a sawbuck made from pallets and without any need for nails. Join me as I take you thru the steps I followed to make this DIY sawbuck from pallets. For those of you that follow our channel each week, we have included some fun we had with the grandboys bringing in some more firewood.

Well, of course, I had to watch. I needed to see this diy. I've never heard it called a sawbuck before. We have always called them sawhorses. It's great to have the kids helping. They're all adorable!

It seems that in Canada and Britain, a sawbuck and sawhorse are the same thing. In the USA, a sawbuck is usually referred to as a device to hold limbs while you cut it into pieces. A sawhorse is a beam with four legs used to support a plank for sawing. Usually 2 sawhorses are used for cutting. Yes, grandkids are the BEST!!!

It you could make another one and it would be a cute little 🪵 holder for inside a home. You might even sale those to people that want the “farm house look 👀 ! You never know till ya try.

Great idea!! However, our tiny house is only 8 feet by 20 feet. That sawbuck would take up the entire house. lol Thanks Glenda. :)

I tried very hard to do this exact thing, but I couldn’t find 2 pallets that had the same spacing. So I ended up tearing apart 3 pallets and using the pieces to build what I wanted. It has worked out well so far, but I really haven’t used it that much yet. The most work was tearing apart the pallets.
