I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to make a simple affordable Firewood jig for some firewood we had purchased some of it is way too long. I remembered TH-cam stumble across your video. This is amazing many many thanks Joe
Perfect video for my search. I built a small cabin on 10 wooded acres and have 20 cord from clearing a building site. I cut this all into ~ 16 in lengths to heat my home I have yet to build. At the same time I had a sauna wood stove made up from an old Woodland W-12 Fisher clone and the 12 means 12 inch logs (more like 10 in actuality. I ended up using this stove for my cabin, 12 x 16 x 15 foot ceiling with generous loft area, built to live in until the house is done, then convert It into a sauna +, and I am trying to figure out a good way to recut this firewood, and this is the answer. I have a few pallets laying around and never gave it a thought. Thank you for the idea!
I did it today in 1 hour. It is a very nice design. The best and faster to do from TH-cam. I did a small change by adding 2 transversal pieces of wood in order to put the logs higher of the middle floor. Like that the chainsaw won't touch the middle floor. Thanks from France
I made this last year from your plans and it's been serving me perfectly. So easy and quick to make (and free!) and it works so well. Thanks so much for putting this video together. Definitely the best one I could find.
Same here, I watched the video, tried it out, all is as stated! The pallets are easily converted, and the rack performs just as claimed. I have shorter thinner pieces of wood in need of cutting without jumps (and injuries), this rack does the job perfectly. I quite enjoyed the experience with an electric chainsaw as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you sir! I love battery chainsaws. If we do a lot of firewood here we also use a wired Husqvarna chainsaw, very reliable and unlimited power if you don't mind the wire.
Today i made this rack, it was my first DYS, my first hand saw cutting, and my first wood thingy i create. My goal is to become a woodcraft man in couple of years. Thank you for this great tutorial.
I tried this out and it works like a charm! It didn't take all that long to create it. Perhaps in less than 30 minutes. Thanks again! Be well and keep inspiring us! Davido
I am going to try this and I will add small piece of wood same width as the pallet saw guide to hopefully raise the limbs a little to allow saw to cut through the wood without cutting into the base
Great idea! The only problem is that you still have to pile up those short pieces, on by one. Instead, I suggest you pile up those 3 ft pieces onto a 'storage' pallet (3 short pieces at once) and then cut it by chainsaw into smaller pieces. You can use some cross section walls on the pallet to ensure the firewood is fixed, then you cut it, pile up long pieces in front of the cross section wall and cut again. Hope you got the idea and good luck!

Exactly what I needed. I had some pallets lying around so didn't even have to go to the store. Very happy with the results. Thank you.

I wish this video came up sooner in my search for a good cutting rack. Best one so far and I'll build it soon
Thanks, if not the best it is def one of the cheapest ones 🙂
Very cool. Lol at morning wood.

Great to hear, thank you and have a nice day!
Great idea thanks for sharing. This is exactly what I was looking for. It will make cutting my smoker wood to size much easier and safer.
Glad it was helpful, happy smoking!
I made the X style version, but I think the other way will be much better for me, thank you for the info.
No problem!
Like so many awesome things in life, it's clever yet simple and mine is working a treat. Thanks so much for sharing with us
Thank you very much sir! Have a nice weekend.🪚🪵
Awesome job! I am about to make a saw buck and have changed my mind and will be copying your design. 👍
Thank you, happy sawing!
Agreed!

Right, just keep some wood at bottom to preserve the base. 👍🏻
Simple, cheap, safe and efficient - genius! Thank you
You're welcome! 🎄
Good job. I wa thinking of buying a cutting rack, but I give this a try first.
Go for it! No point of buying a rack if you have free pallets.
Oh my!! What a great vid, I've just built one in about half hour and ready to start using it now!! Really easy vid to follow, great instructions
Great to hear! Happy firewood cutting 🙂🌲

Most welcome! Thx 🎄☃️
Very nice, thnx dude
No problem dude!
What size screws were used here? 3in?
Yes sir, about 3" or 8-9 cm, self-drilling outdoor screw with torx.
I think we’re going to need a bigger boat
Get some more pallets. Not sure if it will float but one can never have too many pallets.
how long are the screws? Thank you
The screws I use are 9 cm or about 3.5 inch, for outdoor use.
Legit !

Something like that. It's in German, but you'll get the idea ;)

Thank you sir but it seems complicated 🙂, I just need a simple rack and this does the job.
