throughout the whole season, its crazy how we got so many parallels between these two siblings:
- Daki riding on Gyuutaro's back was a parallel to Nezuko riding on Tanjiro's back on the very first episode.
- Gyuutaro was away for work when Daki got burned alive, Tanjiro was away for work when Nezuko and other family members were slaughtered
- Gyuutaro and Daki having Douma (former UM 6) as their saviour while Tanjiro and Nezuko have Giyuu, a demon slayer as their saviour.
- Gyuutaro and Daki were hated by everyone in the district meanwhile Tanjiro and Nezuko were loved by the townspeople.
- Douma finding Gyuutaro and Daki on a snowy night while Giyuu found Tanjiro and Nezuko on a snowy day.
Its still crazy how they could've ended up on both situations. Their whole world took turns once their saviours, whether a demon or a Hashira showed up. The right path and the dark path.
Anyways, season 2 was a ride! They didn't animate a certain scene which was a let-down but I'm glad it will be on the announced Season 3 coming! It's gonna be so good! Great reaction as always

@@mastertex3229 well it’s just the name of the demon, so it isn’t some major spoiler that they told them the demon’s name was Douma.
Also, their hair parallels too.
Their Demon forms: Daki has white and green hair while Nezuko's is black to orange.
Gyutaro has black hair to green in parallel to Tanjiro's black/red hair.
There's also a fecter of time where they lived in a cruller time of samurai, and Tanjiro live in a much more peaceful time of government.
They were hated while Tanjiro was loved
- Since it is implied that Gyutaro's mother died from syphilis, it is likely that Gyutaro suffered from congenital syphilis, which occurs when a mother is pregnant while being infected. That would explain Gyutaro's ugly appearance, as the symptoms include deformed skeletal structures, crooked teeth, inflamated gums and blotches caused by rash.
-Gyutaro was one of Muzan's favorite Upper Ranks, since he highly values his circumstance and greedy personality.

Ume's hairpin hurt the samurai's eyes because he spoke badly about her brother. It's sad that Gyutaro didn't know that and thought it was because he couldn't raise his sister well.
At the same times it's also sad that Daki thought she was only holding Gyuutaro back/down when the truth is, Daki was the reason why Gyuutaro became stronger, and had the will and reason to live. Its sad that they don't see the value of having each other and see themselves as hindrances only.
I wish this was explained in the anime

People always say thar Daki is weak, and Gyutaro would be better if she was not around. They ignore that the whole point of their story is that Gyutaro is only a demon and only strong for her sake.
If Daki was not around Gyutaro would be weak since he would have nothing to fight for.
Maybe one could argue that Gyutaro could be more effective if he would not have to focus on Daki, but even that is a weird argument, since in that situation it is not specifically Daki who shackles him but his own emotions, his care for her.
Daki cannot die unless he is also decapitated, he does not have to rescue her, but he does because he can't help it.

41:30 to answer this question, remember that Hashira's are very *busy* . They get assigned to different regions far away from each other to protect and to search for any lurking demons. One example is Giyuu being assigned on the mountains that's why he met the Kamado Siblings. Not to mention that they're only 9, now 7 and had to protect lots of places esp with vacant Hashira positions.
Tengen did sense that it might be a Upper Moon Demon here on Ep 3 so he prob reported it already to the crows to search for back up for any near Hashira's on the area and that so might happen to be Snake Hashira.
Even if he did or did not, the fight happened the night Tengen figured out it was an upper moon. Back up couldn't come up to the district fast because Hashira's are scattered all around the area and had to travel fast, and its not like they had reliable cars yet in this era.

Ume stabbed the samurai because he called Gyutaro ugly. Also, Ume was allowed to go to heaven because she didn't choose to be a demon, Gyutaro chose for her.
I thought it was insinuated that because she had just turned 13 and was now legally allowed to prostitute herself. Especially because the guy's in her bedroom and the lady later on says she'll find him a replacement girl.

Ume「梅」is the name of a flower, but it also mean 'Syphilis' which is a bacterial infection through sexual contact(think of the place they born), and Syphilis killed their mother, that's why Gyutaro said it is a bad name

Ume means just a flower, plum. It's not bad meaning itself. It's very historical, ordinary name of my grandma's age. Syphilis is called 梅毒 in Japanese, literally meaning 'plum poison'. It's why because the patient has red rashes like plum on their body.
Another thing that I noticed is that because Ume got burned alive when Gyuutaro was away for work and wasn't around to keep her safe, WHEN they became demons, Gyuutaro made it a point to have an EYE on Daki to watch over her (and intervene with his attacks) when she is fighting a distance away from him. I feel that this might have stemmed from Gyuutaro's regret for letting Ume get hurt when he wasn't around to protect her.
Seems in his character to do so being a loving brother and all I could relate tbh if I was in his situation
heres some scenes that was in the extra books that weren't included in the anime nor the manga about the demon sibling's backstory to give some more depth and info:
- Their mother hated Ume because of her appearance (white hair and blue eyes) so she strangled her to death, good thing is that Gyuutaro arrived just in time to get her away from Ume
- The last straw for Gyuutaro and their mom was when Gyuutaro arrived home to her mother aggressively and violently cutting Ume's hair with a razor. He went on a crazy angry rampage which made their mom feel frightened. Later on, she gave up taking care of them.
- Gyuutaro is now in charge of taking care of Ume and tried his best to be a nice sibling. It was easy for Gyuu tho since Ume cherished and loved Gyuu back. She would follow him wherever he goes and cry when he wasn't around her.
- Daki's reasons of stabbing the samura's eye was that he talked ill to his brother Gyuutaro.
it's on the extra books from the author btw. They couldn't fit it on the story/manga bc they could only have limited panels so it's on Taisho Rumor books only, for anyone wondering.

Hi! Here a few interesting things about this episde: Gyutaro did say in the last ep that he wanted to release his Circulating technique as soon as possible to save himself, but the technique was only released after the beheading (5:15) and because of that went out of control aand exploded at maximum in a chaotic manner., so he activated the blood demon just before he was decapitated. (demons can use their techniques even after they have been beheaded, remember in season 1 episode 2 the demon was able to fight after he was beheaded)
The reason Ume stabbed that samurai because he insulted Gyuutaro, calling him unsightly and she'd be better off without him. Sad they left it out
Daki was going to “heaven”. She’s not only shown in light, but in her human form (min 28:30), that's because she didn’t choose to become a demon, her brother made that choice for her and pushed Daki to be who she was, and that's why Guytaro is still in demon form. Also Ume didn’t have her human memories, so she was a blank slate. Hence why she was given a chance for redemption. But she willingly chose to go to hell with her brotherl, Because she'd rather suffer with him than be at peace alone.
Daki is written in Chinese characters as "堕姫'' The word "堕姫(daki)" means "fallen princess. It means terrible. That's why Gyutaro never call her Daki.
Another thing is that Upper Moon Demons can mark candidates when they give them their blood, that alerts Muzan and if he accepts the cells activate and that person can transform into a demon. The upper demons can fight each other so the upper demon hierarchy can change at any time, that's why this demon min 25:20 was upper six but then Guytaro became upper six)
Min 6:00 an min 9:00 That is Nezuko's Blood Demon Technique. Remember that Nezuko's blood can burn demon cells, Gyuutaro's poison is made of his blood, so Nezuko just burned the poisoned blood inside Tanjiro, Inosuke and Tengen (giving the impression of healing). If it was a regular poison they were affected by, Nezuko wouldn't be able to remove its effects.
Yoshiwara - the district where this arc took place, was truly damaged by a big fire in 1913, the time Demon Slayer set in (when the story of the show take place), I think it's genius for the author/Ufotable to be this consistent with the history of Japan
And about the tragic backstories of Guytaro and Daki, Lets not forget what Tanjiro said back then: “Demons are victims as well.”

I think how they die and which realm they should go is wonderful, it's has influence from the way Japanese people or maybe Buddhism way of thinking. They are not judge by anyone in the afterlife actualy they are free to chose to enter heaven or hell, but their attachment to material world does. Attachment to anger, envy, love etc. make them need to repay their debt and reincarnated again to restart new jorney that's why Ume want to be her sister no matter how many live. 😐 It's make me sad.
She's not going to heaven you buffoon, she'll just reincarnate without suffering from any bad karma.

Obanai knew to go there because he was the closest hashira there and remember the crow send messages to each other and other demon slayers. The hashiras also have to take care of their own districts so they can't be grouping up with each other leaving a district unprotected and especially since one district is unprotected because rengoku is dead so other hashiras have to help cover that area as well
also the hashiras are spread out all across Japan , that's a huge area to cover .

Side note: I remember how in the very beginning Ron was a bit iffy on Inosuke, but now would’ve been deeply hurt if he had lost his life. Almost makes me wanna tear up 🥺❤️

Many fans read the manga. So yeah we know what happened BUT the animation and the music in this Anime make the story better.

Thank you for sharing Ron's very first anime adventure, and what a fantastic choice to begin with. This has become one of my premier go to channels for Demon Slayer reactions. Now that you've caught up, we can all begin Season 3 together!
All hashira have their own districts of land they protect. So when Iguro came it was because his district was closest at the time. Also these districts of land are huge. As seen in the beginning giyu is in charge of the mountain range near urokudaki and a large area around that and the same goes with the rest of them. They also have to make up for the fact that other slayers aren't nearly as strong.
The next Arc is gonna be so dope!

The Voice Actor for the new upper rank demon is perfect casting. The actor is the main character (Light Yagami) in an anime called Death Note.
The reason why other youtubers say the other Hashira are strong is because they’ve read the Manga, the next season, which is Season 3 is probably coming out on December of this year or next year!
Also I don’t understand why the anime doesn’t mention it, but the reason Daki (Ume) stabbed the samurai was because he was talking bad about her brother, and Gyutaro looks like that because he had I believe Syphilis which is why he looked like that when younger.

Because in the anime, the backstory is based on the viewpoint of Gyutaro. Gyutaro still don’t know the true reason why Ume stabbing the samurai’s eye. Instead, he thought it was because Ume refused to be the merchandise serving the samurai. “Collect before someone collect from you.” is the values that Gyutaro taught Ume. So that’s why Gyutaro thought it’s all his fault, if Ume accepted the samurai, maybe Ume would have a better life just like the scene Ume smiled in the anime.

Nezuko's ability to remove the poison was basically around since she first got her blood demon art. We just kinda got a confirmation on how her BDA works, her flame can hurt demons and their BDA while being completely harmless to humans. We actually see her ability all the time
-burning rui's threads while not burning tanjiro
-burning the rope in mugen train which has lower 1's BDA
-burning tanjiro to make him aware that he is dreaming without hurting him
-and in this ep, burning gyutaro's final attack
Nezuko's blood demon art is fire that is against demons.
It burns demons, counter the demon poison and powers etc.

So for the characters he’s talking about he needs be careful what he see because there are major spoilers out there from the manga on some crazy characters in the coming seasons!
To answer Ron's question in the beginning-> people know how strong the other hashiras are and yk other stuff because they read the manga! There are also fan books made by the creator that tells you little small details about the characters. & also the manga is finished!

I think there's gonna be only 4 seasons, could've been longer if the author did not rushed it, but because of life stuff she had to, but still props to her, even when the manga was rushed it was still hella good!!
The staff will probably make anime exclusive scenes to fill some gaps as well as sakugas. Ufotable will undoubtedly make it better.

Infinity Castle Arc has more than 40 chapters and if we add sunrise countdown then it is equal to about 50-60 chapters. Nowadays I feel like Ufotable should cram both the arcs into one and not do separate parts, I mean combining both arcs into the final season.
I'm not sure about Hashira Training arc though. How are they going to handle such a short arc? I feel like they should make it a sort of movie prior to final season.

Gyutaro and Ume's backstory was heartbreaking and brought me to tears but it helped me understand them a bit more. It was also interesting seeing the parallels between them and Tanjiro and Nezuko. But it also made me think about what I'd do if I was in that same situation with my own little sister as an older sibling.

The demon who turned Gyutaro and Ume into demons was Upper Moon 2 Doma...... The guy Ron talked about being the Upper 6 and something about zenitsu...... Is the Former Upper Moon 6 Kaigaku who trained under the Former Thunder Hashira along side zenitsu and they're basically brother...... Kaigaku was replaced by Gyutaro and Ume (daki)

Started watching lots of people react to ep19 and then final episode and the one with the epic tengen fight. You guys are the first one i subscribed to! I havent read the manga but im soooo tempted to read it but im afraid it will take away the excitement and fun watching the actual anime. On a side note JJK is amazing! And Aot has one of the best story writing ever created! But my favorite is Hunter X Hunter, that's arguably the greatest anime ever created alongside Aot and a few others. I have a feeling your going to love Killua for a specific reason.. Cant wait till you guys get there!

So I have heard here and there, that the author initially had drafted this to where Inosuke actually dies in this fight, but the publishers said to keep him. Best decision if this is true 😂

Judging by what you guys have scheduled/plan to do, your first completed anime will be Attack On Titan.
I'd estimate that Demon Slayer is probably not going to be done anime-wise until 2030.
My Hero Academia won't be done until around that same time or they could reaaaaaally drag that one out.
Jujutsu Kaisen isn't gonna be done for at least some time either.
On the other hand, Attack On Titan will be finishing next year.
So unless you add a 24-episode anime in the mix, AoT will weirdly be your first completed anime. (I say weirdly because as someone who was watching since the early 2000s, and saw AoT bloom in the early 2010s, it feels so weird for someone to say "the first anime I finished is Attack on Titan" lol)
EDIT: At the end, you guys talked about saying it's your first anime and stuff like that.
One of the best feelings is not having to wait week by week for anime, but starting it while the last season starts.
You will probably get that experience with Attack on Titan, as I'd assume you'll finish and watch weekly with the old-time fans next year, which means you'll get the full experience without the 10 years we've had to wait + you'll get the finale with the rest of us. lol

There's only 4 more arcs left of demon slayer and they're already working on the first one, considering how much time it took them to make each arc into one season it will only take them up to 2025-2026 to finish animating the whole show.

The crazy thing is that the story and action just keeps ramping up from here. We've just started on the onramp of this anime and I can't wait for the rest.
It’s interesting as this is about the halfway point for the whole story. If you read the manga by chapters this is basically 50% done once you’ve finished this portion. So this is indeed the halfway point and things just stay at 100+ for the rest of the story.
To anyone who haven't figured out yet, nezukos blood demon art allows her to negeate other demon attacks by her blood and makes her blood harmful towards demons. In lower moon 5 fight kamado went straight through burning blood without getting burned while rui was burning in it. In mugen train arc she managed to defuse the power imbused to ropes that lower one casted through her burning blood when this happend kamado mentioned he smelled nezukos blood even in his dream. In this episode she burns the blood slashes and also burn away the poison without harming anyone's bodies

I think I remember that they explain it in the manga, but all the pillars (Hashiras) have areas to watch, in which it is believed there are upper ranks, so the pillars are always busy, (That's why very few pillars can train others members of the demon slayer corps). The fight in the entertainment district lasted a few hours, so the closest pillar to the location did what he could to get there.
The next season will be brutal, it's one of my favorite manga arcs, I can't imagine how insane it will be animated.
As a manga reader.. i seriously can't wait for your reactions for the next arc! Which was shown in the teaser.. Would be showing the love hashira and mist hashira.. What are your theories about them??
I think the villains in the next arc are weaker in terms of character especially UM5. They definitely make up for it in power.

everytime I think about how young they actually are when they have to go through all of this just makes my heart ache a bit
I really like how at the beginning of the series the title was "showing my boyfriend anime" the hook was the reaction of someone new to this medium but overtime it became more on the simple reaction of you two just wanting to see what happens next. I don't typically enjoy reaction formats to much, i think most people fake too much to where its not even enjoyable, its refreshing to see genuine people just sitting back and enjoying/speculating/hyping over a good show.
Next season is called The Swordsmith Village Arc and it's said to come out fall 2023 and that arc will be AWESOME, btw JJ Kaisen is amazing so I think u guys gonna enjoy it.
When an anime skipped their intro and/or outro, u Immideatly know its gonna be a blast❤ love this anime and even tho i read the manga entierly still, can't wait for the next season to come up😃

Gyu actually made the world a better place, although killing thousands and being a demon, he did end up destroying a place in which girls like his sister won't be used ever again.
I think the Hashira mostly investigate places where there might be one of the 12 Kizuki. They send two of them when the Demon Slayer Corps is confident there is one there (like the spider mountain). Since Tengen was still investigating that location, he was the only Hashira present.
Theirs more seasons coming but when ginger was talking about how we know the characters and how strong they are is because we read the manga etc

First reactors I've ever watched and set through the whole ride with ( I usually find reactions videos to stuff I've seen boring) but you guys and your genuine reactions made this experience enjoyable. 👍👍👍
"I don't feel like I've watched a full anime", it's basically what every weebs feel after watching almost every anime XD not most anime finish or see their ending and only continue on their mangas or novels. Mainly because there are a lot of stories to be animated and only a few production studios and voice actors, the competition itself is fierce. But I believe we don't have to worry about kimetsu no yaiba not reaching it's end, it's so popular that I doubt they won't animate it till the end. Do take note that for most animes though, for that matter, are usually not animated till the end or in some cases do get animated and finished but like a decade later like inuyasha and bleach, so keep this in mind when watching anime, especially since they usually leave very, and I mean VERY good cliffhangers XD
Fun little fact: Ume attacked the Samurai because he insulted her brother. It wasn't mentioned in the anime, because the insert would look awkward (I assume), and we are hearing from the perspective of Gyuutarou. Also, if you notice, the voice actress for Daki, Ms. Miyuki Sawashiro, really utilized so many range for this character from the point her character must exude menacing allure of a lady from a red light district to that of a whining little girl who got turned into a demon when she was just a young lady.
I feel for Michelle when you had to beg Ron to squeeze the last episode even after midnight. I finished Season 2 at like 3am myself and that was not the plan lol. The cliffhangers were real for Season 2. Also, I was honestly impressed when I first heard Ron's prediction with Master's relation to Mulan. It was hard not to spoil anything. Not going to say anything more though. **zips mouth** Then about the Serpent Hashira, it was more that the Hashira are all busy on their own districts and missions. Slayer corps are low on manpower to begin with, on top of it not being recognized by the government, so I assume that'd make it hard for only all Hashiras to make it in time to another district. Because they also have to look for Muzan and his 12 Kizuki themselves. Plus they also needed to keep honing and improving their skills.
Yes, I definitely recommend Hunter x Hunter. Can't wait for that to happen. Not a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, so please forgive me for not watching it with you. Will still support with the likes though.
