Something i just found out re-watching the original. Rouge said point blank she was 13 when she kissed Cody and discovered her powers. So unless the time between running away, being found by Mystique, and being taken to Magneto was 5 years. Ya. Rouge was underage.
There is some insconsistence with this story. In the original show when Magneto was introduce it was clear that he never had met the X-men before, including Rogue. Then again, the show always had some plot holes when comes to it's continuity (ex: Angel was introduce as new mutant to the X-men but episodes later established that he was one of the founding members).
Yea a lot of holes because the writers themselves didnt know much about the xmen lore. We just have to go with it. Season 2 's links with continuity was much better.
X-men was one of those shows that was easy to forgive for inconsistencies. When you are good quality, the audience will stretch their imagination for you.

You know, it is better that the two talk about things in a mature way rather than hide things from each other. That's what is important here. While sure , they will or they won't is always a thing, in this this shows that the melodrama of characters in love, having difficulty, doesn't have to be screaming match, cussing, physical aggression, and displays a more socially acceptable way to resolve relationship conflict. One speaks. One listens. No interruptions. Boundaries reset or maintianed.

I love Remy and I love this couple. Rogue sure messed up BIG time, but I think it's true to her comic self (which was always far from perfect), and also realistic. Her emotions got better of her and she made a mistake, we have all been there one way or another. And she suffers because of that, rightfully so. I like this plot. It's mature and complicated.

She fought with Dazzler over Longshot iirc, had a few dates with Colossus. Heck, even her and Deadpool was a thing. I mean, we all know who her true love is, but this relationship has always been difficult and very rocky, with numerous flings on the side. I kinda dislike they went for Magneto of all people with her, but I can see where this was coming from. I hope we will get happy ending for Gambit and Rogue eventually, but it's not a bad thing that they will get there not easily.

Its explained in the comics. The inhibitor collars cause pain and PTSD with extended use. Rogue gets very bad migranes and can't wear them without painkillers.

People dislike that love triangle too, but dragging a second love triangle into a sequel show that had a several seasons long romantic tension between these two is pretty lame.
Honestly, Madelyne is the one I like best in the current love square. I kind of hope she ends up with Scott. Jean kissing Logan then getting furious at Scott for talking to Maddie after they both lost their child was uncalled for and hypocritical.
By the time she met Magneto she would have been of age...still kind of creepy, but I do give her some grace since he was the only guy she could be with...without ending up dead. I think Bobby is still in that coma

I dont know why people are complaining. The Gambit-Rogue-Magneto love triangle was firmly established for decades. Hell, she was married to Magneto in Age of Apocalypse, which us one of the most popular x-men stories.

The Gambit-Rogue-Magneto didn't happen until the mid and late 2000s, and even then it made no sense. Throughout the 90s nothing was ever shown or stated that there was a love triangle and the AoA is not canon, it's popular for other reasons.

While sure , they will or they won't is always a thing, in this this shows that the melodrama of characters in love, having difficulty, doesn't have to be screaming match, cussing, physical aggression, and displays a more socially acceptable way to resolve relationship conflict. One speaks. One listens. No interruptions. Boundaries reset or maintianed.

I love Remy and I love this couple. Rogue sure messed up BIG time, but I think it's true to her comic self (which was always far from perfect), and also realistic. Her emotions got better of her and she made a mistake, we have all been there one way or another. And she suffers because of that, rightfully so. I like this plot. It's mature and complicated.

She fought with Dazzler over Longshot iirc, had a few dates with Colossus. Heck, even her and Deadpool was a thing.
I mean, we all know who her true love is, but this relationship has always been difficult and very rocky, with numerous flings on the side. I kinda dislike they went for Magneto of all people with her, but I can see where this was coming from. I hope we will get happy ending for Gambit and Rogue eventually, but it's not a bad thing that they will get there not easily.
