You who only care about HP numbers are the ones that have the biggest chicken strips on your tyres. I had 1986 RD 500, with good set of expansion Chambers maybe about 115 HP porting and carbs 150HP then if you put the oversized YZ125 piston you die. Young boys with all the electronics on a bike, ride one of these then you'll understand the concept of riding a motorcycle, ah the smell , and that powerband nothing like it. Yes regrettably sold it and the Gamma 500. Today mid 50s on my H2 and my love ZX14 turbocharged. Enjoy the spring and summer and ride safe. Cheers from Canada
These engines, in their prime during the GP days when they were properly tuned, were getting well over 200hp. Maybe this one is less, but believe me, it has the potential.
The GP bikes made around 160-180 at the rear wheel. this is a street bike, makes around 80bhp at the rear wheel stock. a good tune can get 100 at the rear wheel, 120 if you push it (one finger on the clutch)
Oh come on guys, where are the numbers for Christ sake? Without figures, it never happened. From the look and sound of it, I'm guessing 165hp a 15K rpm. PLEASE post up.
Okay Dan you got me, maybe I was exaggerating a bit ; ) That's not to say a 2 stroke cant turn 15K though, just not a V4 500cc. Slim chance that RZ is making anything near 165hp, but the 1994 68° NSR500s were making 170 back in the golden era of 2stroke GP.
not cooling the pistons enough with fuel mixture then fully opens the gas after it, made my heart break, look how the japanese do it, play more with the trottle is my opinion.
What is the purpose of a dyno test if you don't show the result of the test. Total waste....
