I'm 73 and look 40. I also have shoulder length wavy, very thick hair. The only thing I've used for years is Olay Microsculpting cream and ROC line smoothing eye serum. I also take a lot of Vitamin C, a multi-vitamin and magnesium. I also avoid sugar and eat lots of berries. No cosmetic surgery or botox.

I have used the ROC eye cream for 15 years. I swear by it. I'm going to be 41 and the skin around my eyes is so plump and line free. I feel so lucky, but I know it's from the eye cream. I switched a few times over the years and lines popped up. Went back to ROC and they went away!

I am 60 years old and find it sad women feel the need to look 10 years younger. I take care of my skin and love makeup but you cant stop the ageing process its part of life. You were beautiful in the first video and beautiful years later. Embrace ageing you cant change it❤🎄👍

Maria, I prefer to think of it as wanting to look 10 YEARS BETTER!! As Gabi said due to lack of knowledge and experience we often don’t know how to make the BEST OF OUR OWN BEAUTY and do a better job NOW of bringing out our best features like skin, hair, smile, body shape and I think that’s incredibly important to our Self Care and Self CONFIDENCE and there’s NOTHING “Sad” about that! 💞

    Tip:
You don’t need to wash retinol/retin a off in the morning. You don’t have to wash your face in the morning period. .. Avoiding washing in the morning will actually cut down on skin irritation. Splash with water in you absolutely have to but you can just toss your sunscreen on and go 😊

Congratulations on your 5 years on TH-cam. I love your videos and think that you are gorgeous no matter the style. As a former Permanent Makeup artist myself, I totally agree with you about he permanent makeup. I would advice against it because more often than not, it either ends up looking harsh and unnatural and/or it could damage the skin and cause bold spots on the eyebrows. I no longer do permanent makeup, but even the best artists can make mistakes... and some inks are very hard to remove.

    • @GlamGirlGabi
      @GlamGirlGabi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

What made you stop doing it? Honestly, I agree. Some artists are SO AMAZING but as an MUA, and living in this climate where it is SO POPULAR now, I have seen it look absolutely terrible more times than I would like to admit. I always sigh (internally) when someone comes in with heavy permanent makeup because it is SO HARD for me to work on a face like that and make it look really good.

Hi Gabi! Great video! It's such a wonderful thing about life that we constantly change and grow. I like to say we continue to evolve as we age. You certainly have evolved over five years of experience. Don't be so hard on younger Gabi, she is absolutely fabulous too! Look where she's gone! I have taken your great advice and purchased a Ziip Halo too. It's an awesome little machine. I can't wait to see what several months of use will bring to my 59 year old face, neck and jowls. Darn it all if I don't want one of those crazy pillows. I am a side sleeper too, Gabi, and my sleep wrinkles take hours to go away. You continue to educate, inform and inspire. Thank you, Gabi! The very best to you and your beautiful family.

I am over 60 and I love love your videos.
Why wouldn't one want to look 10 years younger??
I cannot understand why one would want to look old, if there are make up suggestions and cosmetics to help one look younger.
I will try everything to look my best.
And i dont care about so called "make up rules" for senior women. I put on my face whatever makes me feel good and younger.
You looked beautiful before, but you look absolutely georgeous now.
The dark hair and dark eye make up look soooo much better on you.
Makes you look much younger and much more beautiful.
    Simply georgeous.
Please continue your great work of teaching us senior ladies how to look younger so we can feel good and confident❤

Ms Gabi I am 53 years old and I started using Tretinoin 6 months ago and I will admit it has been rough because I developed a nasty case of Perioral Dermatitis. My Derm doctor prescribed a round of Doxycycline and it has made a world of difference. My face looks amazing now and I will never stop using Tretinoin! It is so worth the issues! Best of luck!!!

I recently started tretinoin 3 months ago to help with skin texture issues at age 58. The learning has been interesting. I'm still not sure what serums/actives to use at night and morning. Vitamin C serums in the morning seem to cause irritation right now. I am hanging in there and hope to learn more. I am not fearful of aging but find it nice to know better how to work with what I have, like thin upper lip, hooded eyes, etc. Thank you for always being so sweetly transparent in your videos. Hugs to you!

Tretinoin changed my skin completely! I have extremely fair and sensitive skin, always struggled with terrible acne, large pores, redness, crazy crazy oiliness, hyperpigmentation after pregnancy, and peeling. My texture was terrible. I do have to be extra vigilant with the SPF, but it’s worth it! For the first time in my life I get compliments on my skin, and people telling me I’m aging backwards! I’d love to see how it works for you Gabi, your skin is already flawless!!

Gabi, I can’t say enough how beautiful you are! Inside a 0:17 nd out! That’s the important part! The aging process will happen to us all I’m afraid. Also, styles change over the years and I think maybe you cringed because you would not wear a certain hair color or style anymore. I’m 67, a hairstylist and makeup artist and my friend and I are starting a TH-cam channel based on how we’ve grown over the years and how we can still have fun, look fashionable and sexy and age appropriate and share things we’ve learned. I think you share and adjust what you’ve learned along your journey too, and it’s really appreciated❤

Starting to wear SPF daily at age 17 and avoiding sun was my smartest choice when it comes to skin care. I started using retinol last year, but SPF really did something, it might be also influenced by genetics but I look 22 at 32 and get questioned about my age constantly. SPF does wonders. I tried tretinoin, I think it's very irritating, so I just got back to my usual retinol serum. Might tackle tretinoin in the future.

Hey Gabi, just came here to say I bought the ZIIP Halo on your advice about a month ago and honestly I don’t know how I ever lived without it. Besides noticing the lift in my face and less texture in certain spots, my skin is so soft and holds moisture so much better. It’s like this thing has opened pathways for my skincare products to absorb more fully. So thanks a million for that tip! I also use some of the Alumier products and they are great! Thanks again Gabi. Have a Merry Christmas with your lovely family xx

At first I thought "here we ago...another step..." but I am so used to it now that it just feels like a little 4 minute relaxation moment. I think it helps that the results are so immediate too because then you feel motivated to keep going with it.

I have used a lot of City Beauty products over two years sucking into the hype. They have increased their marketing with influencers and likely supply is on back order. That happened with NIRA last year. Months of delay due to more demand from the Black Friday sale than in stock. That said, I have stopped using City Beauty products. Even though they offer lots of sales and discount codes, I feel it is still overpriced and a little gimmicky with all the special potions targeting this and that. I get better results through Naturium and Strata products, or KBeauty via Amazon. Just being honest.

I started using retinol and glyolic in my mid 20s. As for microcurrent, I can't agree more. I have nuface, but now I want try yours! I also recommend getting microcurrent facials if you are able in your area. When I was in NYC, I used to go to Carmel O'Neil, who is an expert and did it monthly as a boost. Your tips are great. As a PMU artist! Definitely go with an inorganic pigment artist. I’ve had eyeliner & brows back in 2008 & they disappeared COMPLETELY after 5yrs no touch up (because my artist retired. So got to have a fresh set in 2018 but avoid the eyeliner wing & did an eyeliner lash enhancement & only hair strokes , looks the most natural over time. And go to an artist that spreads them out is key.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do trentinoine videos!!! I've been struggling with it so hard and idk what I'm doing wrong. I went slow, found the best moisturizer I could, and I'm still riddled with acne and have random times where I am peeling like I'm sunburnt. I need your help! I really don't know what products to use with or without it and what order to use them or how long to wait between applying them - I need a deep dive girl, please!

I feel Gabi was just giving her experience of what she has gone through & providing advice to anyone who wants to hear about it. As with any advice I take what I like & leave the rest. That being said, there is a beauty tip that I have learned & it was kinda touched on in the comments. The beauty tip is to Let go of the worries, anger, sadness etc.. find a way to let these things go. Don’t look to the external things to bring you happiness, peace, calm etc..For me anger was weighing me down & it showed in my face. Realeasing the emotional baggage is helping my body & soul. Thanks Gabi.💚

I've been using Differin 1% over the counter serum for about 2 years now. I am now definitely ready to move on to tretinoin. The only thing I don't like is that I was so used to getting my eyebrows waxed and my upper lip, but you can't do that with these products because they make the skin surface extremely sensitive. I tried it once and it created a huge blister around the top of my lip area which was horrible and took some time to heal. I'm not into plucking my eyebrows or using the threading method. But I just overall love the way my face looked when my brows, upper lip and other small areas on my face were waxed. Can anyone relate? And if so do you shave your eyebrows now?

I used to use tretinoin but I stopped since I now know it is toxic. You need a prescription and pregnant women should not use it. I removed anything toxic such as fluoride and fluoridated water and alcohol from my body. It impeded my thyroid function. Since I stopped, my thyroid has returned to normal. The function of the thyroid is too important to put toxic chemicals into the body. A simple over the counter retin A and monthly microneedling sessions done at home and at a spa is all I do and I’m 61.

Retinaldehyde is the best! Tretinoin is too inflammatory for the skin and so is retinol… you want to use retinal not retinol. Retinaldehyde has a better conversion rate. Trust me!!

Not only can permanent make-up look bad but the colors shift over time and change to something else. I have had clients that got black eyeliner that turned green over time and we had to spend time covering it up with make-up.

I love my Tretinoin has helped make wonderful improvements to my skin, be sure too apply to dry skin, i wait about 1/2 hour after my other skin care the Tretinoin and moisturizer. I use 0.01% on my neck and chest and 0.05% on my face. I had tried to go up to .1% but the 100$ price tage was a bit much for me here in Saskatchewan when either of the other 2 were around 25$.
Good luck looking forward to seeing your journey with it.

Number 1 step to prevent acne and break outs are bacteria free makeup tools. Brushes, sponges, powder puffs etc. need to be cleaned thoroughly after each makeup application in soap, then rinsed, and then finally soaked in boiling water or alcohol. Also make sure to get rid of old and expired beauty products.
