thanks, power button on my 24" is failing. looks like the same arrangement. will get around to it eventually. at first I thought I'd get around the problem with a switched power cord
but momentary switches use a holding circuit.

@@davids3579 sorry I haven't gotten to it yet . I think I glued the button back together. I did buy a whole bag of switches for it however.

Trying this on a Element tv, is there any chance or way that I can fix thr buttons without having them replaced?

You could try spraying some circuit cleaning fluid into the mechanism. Usually only a temporary fix. New buttons will fix it for years.

You can try a couple of other simple cleaning methods before replacing the switches.
1- Chemical cleaning: Drop the circuit board in vinegar for 20 seconds then drop it in a big bowl of water and shake it then take it out and tap it into the palm of your hand (switch faced own so that liquid can come out from the small gap between the body and the round head of the switches). Then dry it by a hair drier on medium heat. WARNING: Vinegar has 5% acid and can clean the contacts quickly, but it can also damage the conductors if you leave the switch in vinegar for a long time.
2- Physical cleaning: Another option is to press down the round head of the switch with the tip of your finger (to make contact between the two parts), then twist your finger left and right a couple of times so that the two conducting surfaces inside the switch rub each other and clean each other.
      WARNING: Do not overdo it
3- A combination of the two mentioned methods for severe cases (if cleaning by vinegar did not solve the problem then try the friction sanding method)
If these methods did not work then replace the switches as shown in this video
PS: Contact cleaners leave residue behind and make a mess

Thank you for this informative video!! Do they not make a button board that you can buy where you can just replace the whole board all together? Or do you have to go about doing it this way? I don't mind doing it like this, but if there's an easier way, I'm not opposed. Haha. I didn't know if you just enjoy tinkering, or if this is the only option. Thanks again for providing this guidance.

I do not believe there is a replacement button board available. You might try a spray on electrical contact cleaner. Sometime that will work, at least for a while.

I have rca 50 inch and the power button is broken I press it and it goes on and off repeatedly even with trying the remote

The problem is not the physical button. Power cycling on and off is most commonly caused by a bad capacitor in the power supply board. That is where I would start trouble shooting.
