    What a brilliant series!
    I started watching about 4 days ago and at that time I was jobless and had been since being made redundant in February.
    Yesterday (Christmas eve) I was offered a position with a company and I start in the new yr 👍
    2020 was really starting to get to me but it’s TH-camrs like you that have helped me immensely.
    I’ll post a link to the channel on FB.
    I also have a great little hack to help binge watchers see more in less time (by setting the playback speed to 1.25 as it doesn’t really affect the sound...you can also have fun by setting it to 1.75 which is triple espresso or 0.5 which is 8 cans of Stella 🤣).
    I’ll post it in the very first video of the series to help newcomers.
    Thanks again bud 👍👌

      Hi, wow that’s great. Congratulations and thanks for letting me know. That really is a great Christmas present. Good luck with the new position and thanks for the tips. 👍

    Looked at a lot of your presentations and they are a great inspiration. I'm Two months into a ground-up restoration of a Series 3 SWB, 3/4 canvas top. Very good progress now about to paint the panels and reassemble. Will post a vid of the restoration process around mid August.
    BTW I'm in the Caribbean (Trinidad)

    Thanks for another informative and well filmed video. I started watching these last Christmas and have really enjoyed watching them over the course of the year. As the owner of a similar series 3 myself, I am full of admiration for the amount you have got done. Keep up the good work. All the best Mike

    It crossed my mind that the electrical cable through the p-clip may chaff. Some sort of rubber strip inside might be a good idea. I’d use an old bicycle inner tube cut into a strip and then rolled around the cable so the clip can compress it. Might be over thinking it but thought I’d mention anyway.

    Hello Joel, great job, excellent! Keep going! Just a question, would you can inform me the ink name/ ink code of body and the wheels? Is the Marine Blue and Limestone respectively? Do you have the inks code number? A hug from Brazil!

    • @My911
      @My911  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Raphael, thanks for your message. I don’t have either paint codes I’m afraid. I bought both of the paints you mention at Paddock Spares online. They are not expensive but the carriage may be a lot to Brazil. The match is very good. It seems quite difficult to get the exact codes for these paints.

      Bronze Green 38500A
      Pastel Green 38504A
      Limestone 38505A
      Poppy Red 38506AH
      Marine Blue 38503A
      Glasurit
      Bronze Green LEY637
      Pastel Green ROV605
      Limestone ROV105/S
      Poppy Red ROV303
      Marine Blue ROV504
      Sand ROV106
      PPG Deltron Code
      Bronze Green 46451
      Pastel Green 46250

    Great video as per Joel. Not sure if you remember but the last time i commented on one of your videos I mentioned I was also from Faversham and in search of an S3. Well early Christmas present to myself I bought a late s3 (1983) same marine blue as yours.. going through the to do list atm, fuel tank and fuel hoses need replacing. May I ask which you recommend as I’ve seen all sorts of reproductions not fitting as they should. Sorry for the long message. Best, Patrick

      Hi Patrick, of course I remember, and congratulations. That’s great news. I would love to see some images of your Landy. Please use the channel email address which is: my projects post at gmail dot com. But only if you want to.
      I actually used Paddock’s for the fuel filler neck. It comes longer than the original so you will have to cut it down. It’s very hard work sliding it over the metal filler sheath otherwise. I actually cut mine down at both ends. No idea why they make it so long. Just double check against your original before you cut. I show this in one of my early videos after moving to Dresden.
      With regards to the fuel lines I actually reused my original ones. I only added new hose at the carb. I can’t remember what type it was but it’s pretty standard flexible strengthened rubber hose.
      While your at it, check if your fuel gauge works too.
      Will you add a secondary fuel filter? If you do, be careful what type you use and where you mount it. Don’t use a plastic one mounted directly anluve the manifold. They can crack and drip fuel. Which could lead to a fire. Use a sealed metal model and perhaps mount it on the defat side of the engine. Away from the exhaust.

      @@My911 thanks for the reply Joel! I’ll send some photos over shortly! I had a 155 mile journey because (because of detours and back roads) from Northamptonshire and it didn’t miss a beat. Though the fuel was going quickly and the past owner only left £15s worth in the tank.. upon arriving home I found that the middle seam of the fuel tank was leaking and I suspect the weld has gotten some pinholes so a new tank is what I’ve been advised from some Facebook forums. If I keep it under a 1/4 full it’s fine! The breather vent hose is split which is another job, I struggled to even remove it. It seems it was a good time to buy and a fair price for a runner because of the new James Bond movie coming out in April!

    • @My911
      @My911  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great news, I look forward to those pictures. Defiantly worth getting the new tank. You can always live around certain problems but 1/4 full tank will just not do. As you have already experienced. 👍

    Hi Joel, Great work as usual! Must feel good to be so close to being on the road. I was wondering about those Monroe rear shocks you have fitted? Where did you source them and do you have a part number? Monroe don't list rear shocks for an 88 inch anymore so I guess they are heavy duty units for the parabolics?

    • @My911
      @My911  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Brett, thank you. I bought the shocks from Paddock spares back in May 2016. I just looked it up!
      Their part number is SKU M4044 and it states rear shocks for SWB. The front part number is M6415 but that just states Series front shock.
      Hope that helps.
