    I know this is an old video now but I just bought an AEG L7FEE865R and built like a tank and apparently made in Poland and not some Chinese sweatshop. This is an excellent brand of washer.

    Love how AEG have been consistently flexible with there wash options over the years, aka being able to washing your clothes on 50c (old textile code, hand hot) and providing you extra rinses. The new line of machines are a delight to see. Great video fella :)

      I was glad to see the 50c option on this machine as it was lacking on the two Bosch's I had before. My Mum's Hoover Computer Controll 1100 certainly had it and I think her New Wave did too.

    It doesn’t like small loads and because of the drum system it would not spin. I had to call the Service help line who said that you have to have a full load and I should top the load up with towels. I washed a heavy shower mat and good size bathroom mat, thinking it was bulky load it would be ok but had the same problem. I had to do an emergency door opening. A good machine if you are a family of 3+ or you get through a lot of business shirts and blouses etc each week and have full load washes. For a person on their own or retired couple like us I would suggest finding a machine that doesn’t have this very sensitive drum rotation that prevents half loads. Haven’t used all the programs as I have only had it a week.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never had a problem with smaller loads, but bath mats are notorious for causing an unbalanced load. I wash my bath mat with my towels and never have a problem and smaller loads such as a few items of sportswear also spin first time.

    I would like to buy a washing machine, and dish washer too, that have heat pump heat borrowing system from the air of apartment. Also in both types there should be average flow air water vapor condensation drying system. So no drying with warming up drum, just drying and heating air. Why separate drying drums, do not get it. And the drum should be large for preventing unwanted appearance. And outflow water heat should be heat pumped back to apartment air. So in the end, there would be clean nice looking clothes and dishes, and little surplus heat.
    Also think I, that the drying heat could be so reasonable, that it could be used in various types of garments and fabrics.

    Do people keep their washing machine usually in kitchen? I ask because in Finland no one does. Usually in bathroom/toilet, and in my case, at basement.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it is pretty normal for the washing machine to be in the kitchen. In larger houses there may be a separate utility room that normally connects to the kitchen to house the laundry appliances. It is illegal to have washing machines in a bathroom in the UK or at least one that is plumbed in and permanently connected to the electricity supply.

  • @kaocokolada1

    I have had terrible problems with AEG washing machine and mould in the rubber seal and even inside the drum and nothing eg cleaning, washing with bleach, bicarbonate of soda can fix it. I have never had that problem before. Interestingly the only people I know who have AEG wm said they have the same problem. I now think I have to replace it even though it still works.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can safely say that mine does not have a hint of mould on the rubber seal or any sign of it inside the drum. The only evidence of black mould is on the water jets where the detergent dispenser goes. I normally do a 60 degree wash once a week and I use plant based fabric softener and always leave the door ajar after use so air can circulate. About twice a year I run a 95 degree wash using a washing machine cleaner, even though I have never detected any bad smells.

    • @kaocokolada1
      @kaocokolada1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ibaisaic I wash all my linen and towels at 60 and do 95 degree wash at least once a month. I have tried doing it with vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, bleach. I have put paper towels soaked in bleach in the folds of the rubber seal and it does reduce the problem but it never gets rid of it completely. I also do not use softener and have started using powder rather than liquid detergent as someone told me that liquid detergents builds up into a sludge which is out of reach but out of which bacteria and fungi feed. The only thing I can say that I did not do every time is leave the door open which I do since the problem started. I am 60 and have had a few washing machines in my life, I can safely say that this never happened to me even when using the cheapest wm when I was younger. There is something wrong with the design I am sure of it. To be fair my model is slightly different then yours but I cannot see the review for it so I could not leave the message there. I would not buy AEG washing machine again.

    Hi there - nice video as usual!
    I was wondering if you could do a quick test for me - my new AEG seems to have become a little noisy when spinning, it sounds like a bearing is having a problem. If I turn the washer off and I try to spin the drum by hand fast, it stops - as if the motor is counteracting to stop it, but mains is completely disconnected.
    I'm just wondering whether this may be a kind of expected behaviour for such motors of if my bearings have indeed gone. Cheers for your help!

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have just tried to rotate the drum and it moves freely when rotated slowly. If you try to get the drum to go faster by hand, mine stops also so I don't think there's anything to worry about and it is just a quirk of the brushless motor.

    Hi thanks for your video. Just a question to understand the washing detergent compartment. You showed to flip the grey flap over when using liquid detergent and the machine then will hold back until detergent is needed. But if I saw correctly there is a gap on the bottom of the flap isnt the detergent draining through that gap? Thanks in advance for letting me know. Kind regards, Michael

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the liquid solution will start to slowly enter the drum when you pour it into the detergent dispenser which is why you can’t use delay start if using a liquid detergent in the drawer. As long as you start the machine as soon as the liquid has been poured into the dispenser it shouldn’t matter. You could use a liquid dispenser that goes into the drum if you think it will be an issue.
      This model has probably been discontinued by now and AEG may have changed the dispenser drawer in current machines.

    • @michaelp9276
      @michaelp9276 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ibaisaic Thanks for your answer! But isnt the detergent instantly pumped and drained away since the machine directly pumps after starting? Also if using a dispenser or bowl in the drum - due to the rotation while load measuring the bowl will maybe emptied and pumped away? Thanks in advance

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I owned this AEG I always added the liquid detergent when the water started filling the machine. I never used it with the flap closed. Detergent pods would not normally empty their contents to be pumped away during the initial fill stage of the wash. If any detergent spilled out, it would go over the clothes in the drum. This machine is discontinued and the equivalent model has a completely different dispenser drawer that has a section for liquid and detergent pods. I don’t deal with detergent on a daily basis anymore as my current machine automatically introduces the detergent during the wash.

    I really like the fact you can do quicker hot washes. also instant door lock release is another great feature. I'm guessing it's an invertor motor as it's really quiet if so is it direct drive or connected with a belt? I've been looking at these for a while and really interested. I've stuck with the bekos for a while because you can do quick hot washes. Didn't realise AEG do the same.

    What happened to your other one? Also why are you not allowed to add softener to towels?

    • @mrlaundry101
      @mrlaundry101 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ilovehandbags06 fabric softener coats the fibres in fabric to make then softer, if this happens in towels they repel water instead of absorb it. which isn't really what you want a towel to do...

      I use a water based natural softener that doesn't seem to affect the absorbency of my towels in any way. It would probably be a different story if I used Comfort, Lenor or any of the other animal tested mass market brands.

    • @mrlaundry101

      ibaisaic yes, super market brands contain so many chemicals nowadays. engineers recommend not using it or animal based products as it coats the machine feeding bacteria and all sorts

    Hi Roger, We are just looking at replacing our ancient top loading machine with a front loader. I was very impressed with the AEG 9kg front loader machine with OKOMix technology. Product Code: LF8C9412A. I'm not sure if that is the same as the machine you reviewed. Do you know if the machine has the ability to be stopped in certain cycles to add items to be washed?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can stop the machine to add clothes but only if the water level is low enough and the water temperature is not too high. It is best to add items within five minutes of the programme starting.

    • @ibaisaic

      Most towel manufacturers and micro fibre cloth care labels state not to use softener as it coats the fibres and makes them less absorbent.
