My favorite parts of this video was seeing how excited Hanuman got from sharing his food with you. Really goes to show how much love and appreciation he has for the ingredients and process. Great video and amazing shots!
That is quite a long and intricate cooking process. You can tell Hanuman has a huge respect in the processes of cooking that dish. He's a flavor aficionado. Ain't no fast food there.
You said it right. However, it will be bad if Mark decide to stay too long. He will eat all the hot peppers, tomatoes and lime that Hanuman has grown. :-) This is one of the best videos that Mark has done in a very long time. So Mark, thanks.
Having lived in Asia, having a friend like Joel to tag along where ever you go is actually a blessing. Two men, a woman and a child, that’s a safe traveling group. Further Joel is a lifelong friend of Mark, he followed him from high school/college in Tanzania to Thailand when Mark was a nobody. Such friendships are a blessings to have. So I think Joel provides the right companionship to Mark who is essentially a foreigner in Thailand.
I love that that chef loves what he’s doing. You can see the excitement in his eyes you can hear it in his voice. Even better when he taste of his own food he did the happy dance. I do the same thing when I cook something and I tasted it and it’s amazing I do the happy dance.
Such a gift to be in Hanuman's kitchen and journey through the making of the dish. Mark you are so fortunate to have this experience. Blessing to you, Ying, Micah and Joel.
When I don't watch his videos regularly and I come back to watching them, I find I miss them. I love experiencing the foods of the world thru you Mark and ur little family 😊
I think that this may be your best ever video! I love to see your friend Joel. That speaks to you Mark and how your bring friends and family into your videos. But this Chef blew my mind. Hanuman Aspler is inspiring. He deserves 5 Michelin Stars. Gordon Ramsay should beg him for advice and take a cooking class.
Wow a true Umani Master in such a lush, beautiful setting. So knowledgeable! What a treat. Interesting that Hanuman knew how much chili oil to add for Mark without overpowering all his hard work.
Everyone is so down putting of Joel when all he does is appreciate food just as much as Mark does. Marks wife is so busy with Micah that she can't help as much with giving input. A second opinion from someone who loves and adores food culture as much as Mark does, shouldn't be an issue. Joel, I love you in the video's. You should make a channel and if you have one please put it in the description box. Thank you.
dont worry the more Joel in mark's videos and ignoring all the hate, they will get used to it soon. LOL. Joel is great. He is just passionate about the flavours of foods
This really shows how flavorful and spicious Thai food is. I always used to think that cooking and serving Thai food in restaurant may be fast since they are mostly stir- fry in piping hot woks which accelerates the cooking process. But watching this whole process of preparing the base paste, it convinced me of the reason for Thai food’s complexity in flavor- which is the multiplication of ingredients used for the undertones.
I believe Mark is very genuine and good in nature. I believe because of his response from his his body language and facial response and his perfect timing of when to respond. I believe that is the reason why he has so many followers. Bless his soul and his family. Happy New Year to everyone.
Joel don't ever stop being you you are so quirky and funny and respectful and awesome just like Mark, the two of you really elevate and play off each other well #TeamJoel
Joel is rather cute too, and i am happy for Mark and Ying that Joel could help with taking videos, because Micah and Ying could have enough time playing and running around. And Joel's expression when having the food is as adorable as Mark..
I could not stop smiling while Hanuman was cooking and explaining Thai history. The complex flavor layering was just jaw dropping for me. Thank you Mark for the vlog it was truly entertaining and educational.

Thank you Mark for nice episode. It was quite amaze that he brought the food to another level with smoking Fish paste ,herbs, chilli and tomato.
