Ven. Yuthadammo is a Canadian. He served to Sri Lnkan Canadians in Winnipeg Manitoba for years. I met him in 2012. The Monk wanted meditation to practice among Buddhist Winnipegers. But powerful people in Winnipeg wanted more sophisticated theory from him than simple reality found in Buddhisum by meditation. He left Winnipeg and went to Thailand. Now I see he is back to Sri Lanka. I am happy, I drove about 100 km to his meditation program later, another day, I went to clean his new Awasaya in Winnipeg. Once, When the monk was meditating outside, a black bear came down from a tree in front of him.

@@samasama2559 Most of the Western monks ordain when they are adults. So by the time they become monks, they are pretty familiar with the internet and technology. That's why you mostly see Western monks on the internet. Also the Western monks are usually fluent in English unlike most Eastern monks. That helps them to spread the Dhamma internationally to a broader audience. So if westerners come to Asia and learn the Dhamma from proper teachers, they can do a great service to the Sasana.
