As coaching and coaching practices develop, technology is playing an increasingly prominent role - and nowhere is this more evident than in video analysis. Analysis now plays an integral part across the football processes of a club, from player scouting and opposition analysis to individual player development, training reviews and, importantly, post-match analysis.
In this extended special feature, produced in partnership with Bepro, we have gone behind the scenes at National League club Notts County to discover exactly how they use analysis. We speak to head coach Ian Burchnall and first-team tactical analyst João Alves, who explain the ways in which they work together, using analysis and video analysis software to improve their workflows, increase their efficiency and, ultimately, maximise their team’s performance on the pitch. We track the club’s use of analysis through the gameweek, and also hear from forward Kyle Wootton and defender Adam Chicksen on how they work with João and use Bepro to develop their own game.
