- Today my Toyota 4k engine has arrived. I plan to turbocharge this 4k engine so i bought turbo kits & get this project ready.. Hope i won't blow anything haha

When changing from naturally aspirated (NA) to a forced induction (turbocharged or supercharged), you will have to deal with changing to a safer compression ratio maybe using different pistons. Interested to see what you do with it!

Any progress with the turbo build?
There is lot of things to overcome…since the original 4 K is carburettor(na),turbo start to shuck more than 2x fresh air in to it that will cause engine banking( air fuel ratio). I know it hard to get 5k fuel injection engine this days but it more easier to bolt on small turbo…for me I will bolt on solex nor waber 4 throattor but it just my two cents no offence and wish you guys good luck and stay safe

Nope bro .. the previous owner just bought the turbo and stuff but the engine was stock .. so I’m not gonna go for high boost which they will blow head gasket .. but I’m just having some fun on this engjne and try not to blow it 🤣

Bang.. saya nak tanya.. saya baru tukar enjin 4k 1.3 saya masukkan ke kereta van liteace.. kondisi enjin mmg fit sbb baru tukar.. tapi masalahnya kenapa terasa sangat tiada pickup.. naik bukit lagi la gear 2, gear 1.. adakah msalahnya sebb ignition coil? Sbb skrg enjin ni guna contact point..

The turbo wasn’t for 4K , but it’s a Subaru turbo . It’s small and suitable for 4K engine .. but now I just need to figure out how to install it as carburettor turbo easily blow gasket 🤣
