Nice. I sure miss my 3K engine. I had it blue printed myself. Cam 3 by VW Precision. Port and polished. Tri angle valve. OEM Twin Aisan carburetor. 4:1 Nodalos headers. Slightly 0.25mm oversized piston. And a 5 speed transmission. It could happily rev up to 9000 rpms.
hi, nice work, glad to see it still has the big port cyl head 3K-B. did you put a slightly lumpy cam in it? these ks go so well with a cam, extractors, and twin side draughts! cheers
Thanks! All the parts were sourced through my local Repco store here in Aus. The hardest thing to find was the new timing chain kit, everything else was in stock.
@@nickrodriguez2650 I got really lucky with this car. The only rust I had to cut out was 2 spots at the top of the rear wheel arches, and a spot under the battery tray. Apart from that it was just a few dents here and there.

I just used the standard cam in this one.
Twins and a big cam would have made it a fun little car though!
Great rebuild. Where did you get the parts from? Greetings from germany 🤙
Thanks!

Have to hunt around online, most things are readily accessible I’ve found.
What are the correct torque specs on the engine
What are we talking , head bolts, mains, big ends?
Plenty of info online about the K series engines👍
I have been looking online but the specifications are different every time.
Im looking for head, big ends and mains.
And maybe if you can help me with the valve clearance.
