I don't use steam VR when playing quest 3... If you have content manager installed for AC, choose the oculus option in video settings and you won't need steam to further tax your system when playing.
Absolutely this. An alternative is using OpenComposite which gives better performance and better visuals (primarily better anti-aliasing,) than the Oculus runtime. You also don't have to use Virtual Desktop with the Quest3 as the Meta software has desktop mode built in. Once you get connected to your computer, click the desktop icon at the right side of the row of icons at the bottom of the menu and you will load your desktop. Finally, you can run any game at 72Hz on the Q3 and I can just about guarantee you won't notice the difference between that and 90.
Bro open "Render States and " from the right hand side manu. Here you can see and adjust what resources are taking the most and causing frame drops etc then open the utility "View and video settings" again from the right hand side. This will allow you to adjust things like shadows, world detail, post post processing, remove wheel/ hands/ etc on the fly, again, this will help with FPS differences depending on the track / car como. This way you do not need to leave the track to change many of the settings realtime. one of the best ways to save FPS is to cap your frames to the amount your VR HMD can take for example. My Tv is 60 Hz so I cap the amount of frames going to my TV at 60 FPS and through my VR software, also cap the FPS going to the VR display at the same it can handle which for me is either 90 or 45FPS as I use a vive pro
Not too many comments here so i will just come to say, if your buying a headset for driving, the quest 3 over the quest 2. The lenses make a HUGE difference, making not just the centre of the screen clear, but the entire screen. you wouldnt realise if you havent tried both yourself, but once you have you cant go back
i have assetto corsa on my pc, do I have to download the game separately that is vr or does the vr act like just a monitor but Vr? Also how does this affect the graphics and fps? Can I maintain its original as long as I have better pc?
@@YSGiant but that’s extra software you’re running and it’s using resources why not just use the cable with the oculus app? you really should use the oculus app with using a link cable you’re definitely taking a performance hit running that extra software. I honestly don’t even think you’re using the cable
@@YSGiant if you remove the cable you will see that it will continue to work because it doesn't use the cable unless you use some kind of a third party modding app... Virtual desktop is designed for wireless use not cable unlike the official meta quest link app ...
Make a tutorial please only reason I don't play AC is because it's tough to setup the car and buttons and I've been sim racing a few years. AC is one of the hardest behind rf2
Your motion blur is asw, asynchronous space warp . Even if it says disabled in debug tool it isn’t truly disabled. Turn it to 45 disabled then to disabled then it’s truly disabled . U can test this by turning on performance overlay and set it to show asw status , only when it’s says asw unavailable is it truly off.
@@YSGiant if you have discord or any other method of contact I’ll talk you through it all one day if you like. I did many weeks of testing to get to where it’s crystal clear even in distance and super smooth . There’s a bug with asw where even when it says it’s disabled it isn’t. The method I described actually turns it off otherwise when you move head fast you’ll get weird smearing and like a motion blur.
this vid does not make sence at all your using virtual desktop with a cable plugged in? why not just use oculus software. your running assetto in steamvr you would get far better performance with openxr on oculus runtime with openxr toolkit, please dont do a tut untill you wotk out how to set it up properly yourself i run maxed everything max rez super sampling at 1.4 cas sharpening and still have 50% headroom. also in debug tool turn off asw turn bitrate up to atleast 400mb and fov tangent multiplyer to 0.85 for both you mentioned motion blur did you have it on or did you have spacewarp or the vd equivalent on?
Vr is annoying when you take off the vr to go make a coffee or a smoke you come back and have to reset the screen in the vr so its straight but apart from that its pretty fun i have both triples and vr. Vr is great for looking around and that but triples are easy to setup and dont have to play around with it and doesnt take as much of a fps hit
@japp3playzz yeah it can be but if you have to keep resetting the vr screen all the time it's not ready immersion or enjoyable were triples are much better so much easier and less messing around and less fps drops
@scissors11 glad to hear. I'm currently running triples and was interested in grabbing vr to check it out. However I feel like if my triples were setup correctly I would be happy with it
@anthonymohrmeyer5274 don't get me wrong vr is fun once you set it up and get it running smooth and have the screen not shake but when taking the vr off and putting it back on the vr the screen is either way to high loke your almost standing on the car or your looking at the window of the car Triples if you have bigger enough triples it's pretty amazing and once you actually setup it right it's even more better add something over the top of you pant it black like your inside the car cover next to where your legs and feet and around the bottom of you like a car so you cant see anything but your pedals and legs it's even more immersion when adding amber led strip's you can make it like your going under shadows of the tree or if the sun go brighter the led strip's will go brighter

you can just use openxr and have o ulus as default openxr runtime no need for opencompis when a fame supports openxr
I have Pico Neo 3 Link Headset, spec wise it's similar to quest 2 can I use the oculus option in CM if my headset is not oculus?
@@Huzaimie_99 does pico have a openvr runtime? that would prob be better
@@jdogofoz3642 good point. Thanks for the correction
Regarding the wireless issues, If you use a cat 6 etharnet cable from router to the pc. Virtual desktop works much better wireless.
that looks mint af, also it looks like the roads where i live lol
Since when can you run VD with a link cable? Also use content manager. AC is a blast in vr! Don’t use steamvr either. Oculus runtime with ODT is 🔥
AMS 2 looks amazing
ACC even better, more realistic
And the best VR performance out there!
Best Experience so Realist in vr an to Add you Need to turn motion sensor off in settings 100%
i turned it off but it still seems to be there just makes it look odd
AC in VR is amazing, I can see myself in the mirror! ACC however looks like thrash compare to AC.
acc is not very vr optimized if its flat screen optimized at all :P , sadly

underrated
You might get better mileage getting rid of steam VR and virtual desktop. Not needed. Just use quest link and content manger.
yep CM is the real deal, one time again!
I’ve got ACC looking and running amazing
mate how'd you get your traffic running smoothly on highforce? and can you share your vr settings please
How did you get Virtual desktop working with a cable ? I was under the impression Virtual Desktop only worked wirelessly .
It works with or without a cable... Some people stay connected for charging.
just used a cable and it works

Super simple to set up man
btw try ams2 is the simpler and the best for vr, and road atlanta and lowfuelmotorsport support coming soon! :P
I’ve got a Ryzen 5 5600x RTX2080Ti, 32gb RAM system. Will anyone know if that would comfortably run AC in VR? Preferably through a Meta Quest.
Id say run it at 90 frames. 120 hz on a vr in AC will make u loose frames
Ionly got quest 3 for sim racing it's definitely worth it. I run iracing not ac but either way worth it
Use content manager with pure easy as 1 2 3
