Gucci Cruise 2018 Fashion Show: Full Video

- Unfolding inside seven rooms of the Palatine Gallery in Pitti Palace, the Gucci Cruise 2018 collection by Alessandro Michele was woven with a Renaissance influence. Gowns with crystals, pearls or bows worn with elaborate hand bracelets. Lapels on men’s brocade suits pinned with three dimensional brooches of faces from Greek mythology: Silenus, the companion of Dionysus and Hercules, the son of Zeus. A new way of writing the House name-Guccy, Guccify and Guccification-found by Alessandro Michele through tags on Instagram, appeared on ready-to-wear and bags. Accessories crafted in retro shapes featured GG and butterfly hardware, and gold laurel crowns-evoking the goddesses of old Hollywood-were carried by hand or circled the models heads.

The aesthetic here is amazing. This is probably one of my favourite collections from Gucci. Iconic pieces on show
Ahh the luxury of old days when care, time, craftsmanship and passed on knowledge came together. The trance traditional chants at the beginning. Quality materials, stitches, comfortable and flattering shapes. The respect for the past while remaining in the present. All of these elements in this show. A piece of art!

I like how you can distinguish every detail with the natural light that fills the room and how their slow motion walking enhances the dreamlike state. The museum is the perfect location for this timeless wearable art.
The quality of all the materials and craftsmanship are what sets GUCCI apart. And his unique design and sense of style simply elevate it to a new level in this collection. One of my top five favs.

I purchased 1 Gucci bag years ago. I could not use it except several times - when I traveled abroad. Now Gucci is back and I can use it more often. Lovely.

Frieda’s mistake in Gucci is that her minimalism aesthetic has become boring although she’s a great designer, but in this economy? Gurl people are going for extra nowadays, and Alessandro realised that. Him turning Gucci into this extra brand with extra-looking outfits and amazing accessories is the step in the right direction.
I would love to see Frieda back in the fashion industry tho. But not in Gucci, maybe in a more feminine house like Valentino, or Dior.
Alessandro turned it all the way around: from minimalism to maximalism - or: from negation to affirmation.

Come on Gucci! I just did’t get the cohesiveness of the entire show... bohemian, sporty, socialite, nerdy, entitlement but NOR romantic and sexy which is what I expect from this house. I agree with a previous comment.... I cried; but only for the beautiful music which had nothing to do with the clothes!
