- Within a hall of illusionistic mirrors at the Gucci Hub in Milan, Creative Director Alessandro Michele presented his latest collection, Exquisite Gucci. In his notes on the show, he wrote, “I use the metaphor of the magical mirror to approach the phantasmagorical power of fashion. A sacred power that radiates from the surface of the fabrics. And there I work, on this tactile surface, through cross references, alterations, loopholes and grafts. Juxtaposing worlds and meanings. Altering the stability of perception. Manipulating and magnifying the existing. Through these interventions, I celebrate the clothes as real optical labs: magical machines that can give birth to fairy tales of metamorphosis and re-enchantment.” #ExquisiteGucci #MFW

Now that's what I call a show! All the pieces were dripping with opulence and artistry, set against an inspired backdrop of stage and music. This is truly the first time I've been inspired by art since the pandemic started. Thank you, Gucci. Grazie, Grazie.

Wasn't always that way. Wasn't until Tom Ford was hired at creative director that the house of Gucci broke away from their conservative box. Since Ford left Gucci, they have continued to explode with innovative style while maintaining superb craftsmanship using the ultimate in luxury materials. So exciting to see every new collection the Gucci produces.

The way they portray dark academia style is unique and haven't been presented this way before. Especially the looks they collaborate with Adidas.
Lol its not Dark Acadmia. The music, walk and overall direction is a solemn nod to the Ukraine/Russian war. Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino and Balenciaga did the same (except they gave a speech pre-show).
The distortion of the mirrors and flashing lights convey the hysteria in these trying times. Balenciaga put on a blizzard and wind. Its all suppose to show chaos and displacement.

So i may be late in watching this but I did to see what fits Kai would look best in. I'm pleased to say that the fits for the most part are really nice. There are quite a few i would like to see Kai in. Hoping he gets to go to Milan in May for FW and fingers crossed that he wears one of these fits.
