If you can rebuild the Kawasaki without losing money all of us subscribers will love the content. But if it’s a money pit it’s a good lesson for all of us that sometimes it’s just not worth it. I’ll be watching either way!
Like I said, I wouldn’t lose money by parting it out so it’s never not worth buying. Since the overwhelming consensus is to build it, I’ve already started ordering parts. I’m pretty good at finding things on the cheap.
Glad to see you back man. Hope to see you rebuild the kx. Always need good videos that actually have correct info. As im sure you know its more rare than people think. From a fellow mechanic in South Alabama. Thanks.
Part it out 🐓 I've had to replace the cases from my last 2 builds and I've now decided no more damage case rebuilds it's just not worth the cost Just my opinion also, it's a 4 stroke 😂. Love ya work mate and will be turning in no matter what you decide.
Man...honestly I've saved much worse. I say save it for someone to enjoy. Most of it looks to be there. Maybe buy another one for parts. Part the rest of it out and save one. Win win in the long run. The yZ cleaned up real nice. Its hard to say no to any yZ. Although I'm stuck on RM's. Bout to throw the crank you did for me in today. Excellent work man. 🤘💯
That YZ turned out nice. I believe it would be cool to rebuild that KX and give it another life. But at that point I doubt it will make any financial profit.
Hi Pete, $2K and it will be fully restored. Good content and you might make a buck. Just finish 2 YZ's & a WR, if we.can do it, I know you can. Of course I'm retired and have lots of time and I want to make sur RM doesn't go out of business.
Well that's what I'm working on, a 01 YZ250, last owner did some dumb shit and bubba'd the hell out of it, trashed it, drove it on the road, rear tire bald, top end screwed, power valve damaged, shaft damaged, found out he forgot the gasket behind the water pump and then plugged the weep hole causing water (not coolant) to get in the head and seized it, guy dumped it too, thing was beaten and left for dead, being my first dirtbike as I ride sport quads and my first 2 stroke I decided to buy it to learn on how to work on it, pretty much have to replace or fix everything, only thing I haven't touched is bottom end, seems to shift fine, no up down play on crank shaft, so I'm hoping bottom end is ok when I put it back together Forgot to mention, he put a 1990 yz250 rear brake caliper bracket on it, it was loose and badly scraping against rotor it left a deep gash on the bracket and rear caliper, dude just cobbled this bike together
I’ve certainly seen some like that. It’s really amazing what people do to these bike sometimes. Like you said, it will be a learning experience any way you look at it. Good luck with your build. Try to source your parts through eBay doing lowest price sorting to help save money.
I just stripped down a 2003 yz125. Was planning on rebuilding it but with a broken main shaft, sleeved cylinder and repaired fuel tank it's going to be parted out.
Rooster that's wut happens when these young kids ride those dirt bikes on the roads wide open and they wonder why they don't run correctly or they have lots of broken parts !!!
Rooster id like to see you save that Kawasaki me the guy I am id take alate 80s early 90s two stroke rather 250 or 500 and stuff it in that frame and have a blast doing it
You should fix the kx up I had to watch your videos about any kx250 to fix mine. Why does mine spit coolant out the weep hole on the cylinder mine a 2019kx250f
The weep hole on the cylinder is a drain for the spark plug cavity. Coolant should never come out of there. Sometimes oil can come out of the cam bridge oring or valve cover gasket is damaged.

100% agree it would be a shame to let the KX go. Fix her up brother!
Yep, looks like that the way it’s going to go. Thanks
Build the kawi free sockets 😂 those bolts and finding where they got is intimidating.
Thank you

Well, it will certainly help the next guy trying to build their bike.
Fix please

Thank you for your comment
if you have a donor bike for the 250f I'd say go for it.
I don’t, but I’m a good parts shopper
