Yep. You can find the Lite for 100-120 euros in "like new condition" where i live, so paying 150$ for a broken one seems insane. I'm constantly looking at listings while searching stuff for my game collection and i've even seen lots of them brand new, sealed at 150-140 euro. I would never imagine the shortage would drive prices in the US that high.
When I bought this Switch Lite they were selling for $225-$300 used on eBay. Prices have come down since then but I'd still be able to make $50-$75 on this repair. @TechNotesStuff I'd consider it but just the motherboard alone is almost $300 so when you add all the other parts you might as well buy a brand new one. It's a good idea but you won't save money by doing it.

My father has always been into fixing electronics, since he got retired 3 years ago he started fixing more and more stuff. He was really surprised and happy when he realised that I know some stuff about fixing electronics (stuff I learned from you, Steve). Now we have more things to talk about lol. I showed him his channel and he was really impressed with your professionalism, too bad he doesn't understand English perfectly, but I still show him your videos.
Not really actually pretty easy. People forget to pre tin the charger port pins and reason I see people end up melting them. I do them without even having to use much flux and never melted one, or bad connection. Lifted a ground pin on one, but that switch was water damaged and pins were corroded and even then repaired it.
Always happy for you when you manage to fix your stuff, seeing all the effort/patience you put in (not particularly that session, but others that were tougher).

You were in my youtube recommended and being a very unhandy person, I was intrigued watching you fix microchips etc. I'm normally the type where if something breaks I just toss it but after watching you fix so many things that just needed a cleaning, I decided to open up my dog treat throwing camera when it stopped working. Sure enough there was a treat wedge in a place it had no business being and works good as new! You inspired me and made me brave enough to try to fix it myself! Thank you! :)

Quick tip, Craigslist tends to have crazier deals (usually parents who just want to get rid of their son's broken toy) compared to Ebay where prices tend to converge due to high traffic and knowledge of the market. If you're looking for a $50 broken console that's your best shot, although of course you have to be quick to answer the listing before the others do. Alas, thank you for the invaluable knowledge you share with us :)

I am just laughing right now. I was playing Animal Crossing New Horizon today when I realized I had received a Circuit board Wall Covering and Floor. I realized the wall covering is the back of a game card without the black plastic covering. The Floor is the backside of the Switch's main motherboard (The side that faces the screen when installed). Thanks to your Website for having very clear pictures that allowed me to identify which section.
Maybe you should make a video about this: You buy second hand Switch from real shop in China (taobao) certified, for 50$ less than ebay and they already cleaned, work in perfect condition, no scratch, come with accessories and original box. It still blow my mind that people are using ebay/amazon and with these kind of condition and price.
I paid 100 dollars for a coral blue Nintendo switch lite with its original power adapter. The unit was in near perfect condition. Also paid 170 dollars for a regular Nintendo switch with black joycons mario kart 8 and smash bros in their cases. The switch was complete with dock power adapter and hdmi and the joycon controller dock. The switch itself was in very good shape, except for a small scratch on the screen you can barely see. Both work flawlessly. Both were bought local off local online listings. No fuss no muss. No feebay no scamazon.
Same switch color and all. I'll be easy on my charge port. I won't use it while charging cuz it seems to put extra strain and unnecessary tension on the port. Thanks sir.
Switch lights are 200 brand new at walmart or any big retail stores. also since they are not really wanted that much the stores stock is usually available.

If you have a free Target account, in the Target app search for Nintendo Switch. If the one you want is sold out there is a button to switch that says “notify me when this is back in stock”. You’ll get a notification as soon as they’re back in stock and can order one through the app. Target does free two day shipping to most places and you’ll pay the normal $199 for a switch lite and $299 for a Switch. Be patient, don’t get ripped off.

Ive never bought a switch before , Im more of a console/pc person however people dont realise born in the 1990's-2005 how intricate technology is , Imagine being able to say if i was given all the solder , resistors , parts , bits and peices to put together a system or powered device you would be able to put it together peice by peice , Although when i assume most tech-builds are automated by robotics , Its mental to look at a motherboard of anykind , I dont know what the hell im looking at

The console is at the Florida Surplus Actions. The minimum of 96$ and the maximum 350$(brand new).
