This was an absolute meal. Louie see's the drink as a threat but as the doctor points out it's only a problem if someone is eating meat.... which isnt actually going on, RIGHT? They condemn something that is only a threat if people are not following the law and yet it's that very law that IS being broken and everyone just turns a blind eye to it. What a perfect scheme. If society is what everyone says it is the drink is harmless. But no one wants to address the elephant in the room (no pun intended) which is FOLKS ARE EATING OTHER FOLKS. And yet it's the drink that's the problem in louie's eyes. The consummate politician, fixing things without actually solving the problem that's causing the issues and doc sees RIGHT THROUGH IT.
great analysis, couldn't have said it better. But let's not forget Deshico, who is a carnivore as well and is seemingly fine with the incoming chaos if it gives him an opportunity to gather data. Deshico is a true scientist, for he does not concern himself with the cost of his curiosity, so long as his own insatiable appetite for knowledge is temporarily quenched, he is content to watch society burn.
Carnivore are still carnivore, they need meat to survive, because of the law Carnivore are getting ferocious. They need alternative meat like Fish if they want to continue
@@gambler942the problem is law for the land carnivores, as Sagwan pointed out. Getting fish from the ocean is considered "poaching." But, it's completely fine for fish to eat eachother in the ocean world.
In a way, the drink is almost the perfect solution for pre-meat consuming carnivores. But the bigger problem is that it's already practically too late for this drug to be administered to the general public as most adult carnivores have already consumed flesh and blood at some point. This means that most of the consuming market has already been compromised, and this is the actual problem that Louis realizes. Though it's also because of how difficult it is to acquire sustainable food, that is a big problem for carnivores as clearly their biological needs still aren't being completely satisfied, which causes them to lash out in desperation. In short, nobody's winning.

4:47 louie: no, I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him. Deshico: hmm that’s unfortunate. Me: unfortunate? More like fortunate. Cause with how homicidal melon is, you’d be lucky to survive an encounter with him.
I think he's not playing with people, he's doing his work to make a point. He clearly hates hypocrisy and how people are denying the main issue, that being the Back Alley Market and how meat-eating is supposedly supposed to be banned, yet goes ignored while a large scale human(or animal in this case) trafficking operation is allowed to exist despite the fact that meat-eating in society is clearly manageable through eggs, medicines, and other proteins. At least in the anime version, He clearly came up with the drug not just to fund his research, but to expose things by exploiting the market, making things way more obvious. As someone who loves seeing hypocritical people get their comeuppance, I understand him. It's extremely cathartic, like a high, so of course he feels like he's playing with people, but it's not just for the sake of pleasure. He's also studying subjects (hybrids) that are pushed down by a society that hates non-conformity to this wack ass cannibal system. He had to do SOMETHING to secure funding as a scientist. And it worked.
@@bloodyidit4506 I regret to inform you the very hypocrites who invented this system can just as easily take your points and turn them back on you, plus they have the power of the laws they make to both maintain their position and enforce it, as well as the media outlets they use to sway public opinion, even with flimsy justifications. The more people who make up a society, the more the odds stack up against those fighting/working for a cause and those who are simply going through the motions to fit in or survive. Also, society will always push some groups down, it will never be capable of treating everyone fairly or giving everyone the same level of wealth or view them the same. It's a miracle they're not at each other's throats all day, every day over some perceived slight, like children fighting over a toy or a word or just a random thing.
