I don't want to sound like a punk. But, when I see people today in 2024 getting their spirit lifted hearing music from my generation it gets me very emotional. It means the music from my youth survived time and decades to come to touch people years later. Steve is such a top tier singer he was singing in a club underage I believe she 15. He was in Traffic, Blind Faith. Successful solo career, he's fabulous!!

That's also Marcus Muller on the bass. Steve had an allstar lineup and he's also an amazing piano player himself. They used to call him the white teenage Ray Charles

Your sincere reaction to one of my teenage favorite song was amazing it proves even today, that it doesn't matter a thing if the singer is a white boy or a black boy if he can or she can sing from their heart. Then you can hear something like this. But to be fair Steve Winwood had unusual voice for a white guy, but we all are humans and in the end should be brothers no matter what. Some may feel uncomfortable about this christian view but this is a good start to understand it.

Ive loved Steve's music & rocked this CD(!) til it wouldn't play anymore! (ok, it might actually have melted in the car the afternoon of August 23rd, 1986 but who's to know! 🤔) The whole album is amazing & uplifting, which is why it went on to win album of the year & take home that Shiney dog trophy! Seriously appreciate your reactions & your spirits! Not sure when this reaction was uploaded but things just seem to get worse n worse, the "GOOD NEWS" is that there is a "HIGHER LOVE" & He's available to everyone!

It's a great song but I think his best late '80s song came out 2 years later; Roll With It.
Whitney did a version of this song, which is great. But there is a remix of that version by Kygo, which brilliant.
